We went to Doolin for the Craft Beer festival and decided to stay the weekend at a self catering cottage as all the hotels in the area were booked. To be honest, we rarely so the self catering thing, so I was at first a bit apprehensive but now must admit I ended up enjoying the place very much. The cottages were very clean and well maintained. They have everything you need like stove, microwave, even a washing machine. The cottages are far enough apart you don't really notice the other people staying in them. The views from the cottages are amazing. Depending on which cottage you stay in you may be right in the village or you might be 1.6 km outside the village, but it's an easy walk or quick taxi ride to get there. One thing though, they are a bit thin walled on the inside, so if you are like us and traveling with another family you must be aware of this and respect the fact noise will travel a bit on the inside, but other than that it was brilliant. We would definitely come back and stay here again and would encourage anyone else who may normally stay in a hotel to give it a go too sure. read more
