The day before my birthday, my Mom out in California surprised me with a gift certificate to Eye Beauty Studio for lash extensions. I had never had them before and I was VERY that they would look "fake". It was just some thing I have never looked into before. Either way, I was ready to give it a chance. I called Freda to schedule and lucky for me she had a same-day cancellation so I slid right into that appointment and it was go time. When I parked in front of the salon I texted to let her know I had arrived and she met me at the door, mainly due to Covid reasons. She walked me back to her HUGE private salon and I sat on the couch and immediately felt comfortable. Freda explained all the risks and benefits and I filled out a couple of pieces of paperwork. We came up with a plan after bouncing ideas back-and-forth, looking at photos and really just trusting the process. Like I said earlier, I had never done this before and since I had no idea what that's was about to happen I was a little bit anxious as we got stared but that quickly went away. Freda explained what she was about to do and why and it made me really understand the process of what was going on. Things can be scary when you're eyes are closed for an entire appointment... but not this one. She also really made me feel like I was cozy at home laying in my own bed. From the soothing music to the coziest blanket I've ever felt in my life, it wasn't ling before I fell sleep... twice. The rest of the time we had a wonderful conversation. She is such a good listener. I am so grateful to my Mom all the way in California who just wanted me to feel pretty because when I say I posed for my after photos, I POSED for those after photos. I absolutely adore Freda. On one hand she is so professional and an extremely brilliant businesswoman and on the other hand she is the kindest most gentle person who just wants to make people feel pretty. She is the perfect combination of everything that makes up a good human being and for me it's certainly a treat whenever I meet someone like her.

They're great if you want to look at least a little made up without spending time putting on full make up. In December 2023 I decided to have Freda, the owner, do a lip brush. I hate wearing lipstick since it dries up my lips, which was the deciding factor. It's a two step process but totally worth it. No more lipstick for me, only some gloss. Just recently they added facials to their menu. I went today and had a brightening facial with an exfoliation done with Kaylin. It was pretty amazing and Kaylin explained every step of the facial. My skin felt so subtle and soft afterwards. In fact, I booked my next facial appointment already and I've decided to do this once a month on the same day as my eyelash fills. They offer packages which makes it cheaper than buying individual facials. Moral of this long review...I am totally pleased with all of their services and can only recommend them to anyone who wants to practice some self care!

However, I am back (new job and all). So, I went to Amazing Lash Studio about a month ago. They did a great job initially and were cheap. Well, you get what you pay for. When I went back for my fill in, it was horrible! Even when the studio fixed my lashes, still horrible. Luckily, I know Sarah and know for a fact she is experienced, and does an amazing job, EVERY SINGLE TIME. She was able to get me back to where I wanted to be. I have learned a lesson. When you have a mask on and no one can see anything else, it makes it extra worth it to me to have fabulous looking lashes and makes me feel better when I look in the mirror. You can wear eyeliner and eyeshadow with them but I rarely feel like I need to. The glue lasts well through showers and cleaning. The lashes generally look full going into a refill. (Refills are much more economical than a full set, so it makes sense to keep up with them and return every 3 weeks). Sarah's cleaning protocols for covid make me feel safe going even now and they make me feel like I also need to be extra careful knowing all that she is doing to keep people well. Bonus: She listens to books while she works so you get something to fall asleep to while you are laying down for an hour. This is a single studio, not one of the franchise lash places that you have to pay double to get them done by someone with experience. It is worth it to go to someone that knows what they are doing! She is a pro...I mean she took less than an hour to give me a full set. Not even the "masters" at the chains could do that. And her pricing is no fuss, which is a dream for my type of personality. Who wants to go in thinking you're paying one price only to get hit with a few different t fees depending on who you see and what you get done. I left her table looking gorgeous and feeling gorgeous and booked my fill appointment the same day! I didn't have the dreaded bloodshot eyes from glue or the stuck together lashes or a heavy fan on a lash giving that clumped look. Instead it was a perfect application. I had my first appointment today and not sure it won't be my last. My husband gave me a gift…read morecertificate and I was so excited after reading the reviews. I was let down. Let me say my masseuse was not one of the ones mentioned. She was not very friendly. Didn't ask what brought me in or if I had any areas of focus. Just looked at the paper I filled out said ok and that was that. She was so rough even after I told her it was hurting very badly. She said it was my fault I have knots so it's going to hurt but didn't let up on the pressure or get out of that area. I have RA and Lupus and severe joint and muscle pain which I did advise of. I was writhing when she touched certain spots and it seemed she pressed harder. I asked for my lower back to get some attention but that didn't happen either she stayed up top. I usually get a good nap and feel great after a good massage but that did not happen this time. I couldn't relax. I went home and have been so sore (not in a good way either). I can't move my shoulders, arms or bend down. My neck is stiff and I've had a migraine since I left. I may try again with someone else but I'm on the fence. Just an update: it's a week after my terrible experience. No one from the spa has reached out. No one has acknowledged my experience. I am still in terrible pain that was caused by the masseuse. I'm now having pain, shocks running down my mid back and legs from the excessive pressure the masseuse used after I told her it was too much, after I told her it was hurting, after she told me it was my fault because of my knots.
