**3 stars for the venue, 4 stars for not getting killed** Beforewarned, this place is on a ritzy strip of Northern Boulevard, literally right across from Americana. For those of you not familiar with Long Island, Americana is where rich people go to get their fill on Gucci, Prada, Tiffany and everything else that falls under the category of "excessive materialism." Clearly, I did not belong at this venue, however, work gave me a rare opportunity to be a fish out of water. Please bring a few Benjamins (or 500 Euro notes)*, because this place is going to set you back for awhile. I pull into the parking lot and valet parking is the only option. I begrudgingly get out of my car and walk into the restaurant. Immediately to the the left is a spectacular bar, with mirrors rising almost to the ceiling, with liquor lined all the way to the top. Very handsome. Very sleek and chic. Our party was seated in the reserved room to the right. The only thing separating us from the main dining room was a sound-proof glass door. Our meal was mostly pre-selected. We were served appetizers which included a Greek spread (Tzatziki, Tarama, Ktipiti and Skordalia). All tasty and excellent with the fresh accompanying pita. We were also served grilled octopus, which was the most tender octopus I have tasted. For me, clearly the best. The Kolokithi (paper thin fried zucchini and eggplant) did nothing for me except leave an oily sheen on my lips. For the main course, I had the Arctic Char. Cooked to perfection and bold in taste. Not a bite was wasted. None of the main entrees have sides. That must be ordered separately. Desserts were a sampler including baklava, walnut sponge cake, Greek yogurt. All decent, but nothing to rave about. I don't buy into superstition or anything of the paranormal, but there was definitely a strange bizzare "feeling" in the room. When the main course was being cleared away, the waiter for some reason dropped all his plates when he got near me. Some of the leftovers ended up on my friend's shirt. While barely finished with dabbing at my friend's shirt, another incident occurs. As the waiter was putting down a clean plate for me, it cracked in 2! Now the whole party is staring at us, and clearly they all have it in their heads that we have bad "karma." Luckily, the rest of the evening was peaceful. No the answer isn't "to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of their women". It is "go check out the great Sunday brunch at Limani." Every time I come here for the brunch, it's always packed. This place is a popular spot for special events and parties on Sundays and it shows. The standout of the brunch has to be the unlimited AYCE lobster. The spread is actually very impressive and a real sight to behold. Add some lemon, cocktail sauce and drawn butter to the mix and you have one hell of a great brunch. But let's not forget the endless amounts of shrimp cocktail, hot entrees (from typical breakfast favorites to Greek dishes like moussaka) and a big carving station that will surely fill you up (though the meat there was quite dry). Add to that a sushi bar, an amazing spread of waffles, pancakes and french toast with fresh fruit and a big dessert section and you have the recipe for Sunday brunch heaven. My friend brought me to Limani's Sunday brunch for my birthday. He aptly calls Limani his "triple threat" as in 1) great food, 2) great service and 3) great décor. Reluctantly, I would have to agree, not because Limani is undeserving of the moniker but rather, I hate to admit to my friend that he found a gem that I was oblivious to. Yes the brunch was $50 per person, but was it worth every penny? Absolutely. We came during the Blizzard of 2010, the restaurant was an empty canvas except the eager hostess, waiters and busboys. We were seated immediately, ordered our Bloody Mary's and proceeded to attack the cocktail bar. Filled with cocktail shrimps, dungeness crab legs and half lobsters, I was simply in shellfish heaven. Look there were hot plates, rack of lamb, omelet bar, pasta bar, waffle bar and everything else you expect from a solid brunch, but could you really ignore the half lobsters waiting for you to devour them? No, absolutely not and if you want to get your money's worth at Limani's then you better be attacking them with your troops. The food is obviously above expectations and simply the best AYCE lobster you could find. However, it was the exceptional service and is a distinct advantage for Limani's over other brunches. Maybe the slow day contributed to extremely attentive service, but I'm not going to discount or doubt that fact simply because of weather. The waiter attended to our every need and our finished plates were gone faster than any House Elf from Harry Potter could take them away. The highlight of the service was when the waiter asked us if we wanted our lobsters heated with some drawn butter. What? Yes you heard it right, you could get your cocktail lobsters heated and served steaming hot. Of course we took advantage of this service. Name another location that could provide you this option. I didn't think so. Lastly, the décor. The restaurant is rumored to have been a car showroom so think high ceilings, large windows and a spacious interior. Everything was clean down to the bathroom. Limani is a high class restaurant and presentation without the snobby attitude. All in, this was a great restaurant with excellent service and décor. The service was the highlight of the triumvirate and we ended up tipping 30% , pretty good for two Asians if you know what I mean. I would definitely go again for the Sunday brunch, except the price is a little too expensive for daily or monthly visits. However, for any special occasion, a definite must visit. read more

I usual take clients and guests to their Manhattan post in Rock Center, so figured this place can't be all that bad. Big plus about the Manhattan location is their lunch pre fixe priced under $40. Menu is closely identical to the one in the city. The whole fish entrees are super fresh and always prepared as requested. The apps are an Ok size as well. Easy to please both carnivore and vegetarian friends here too. Wait staff is really slow and not attentive at all which is a bummer. If you get sat in the back of the restaurant it's like nomads land, we had to constantly ask a busser to get our waiter for us. The hostess booth is a total joke. They didn't keep track of my guest who arrived before me, when I arrived they checked me in, didn't tell me my guest arrived and sat me down at our table and my guest was left sitting at the bar for a good 20 min until I finally texted to see where they were. It wasn't even a busy night. Get it together people. The Valet staff is very efficient and friendly though. Not a fan of LI restaurants charging Manhattan prices, no matter the neighborhood. Unless your a high end place, close to a lirr station or easily accessible by foot off the lirr then maybe be a bit higher than the norm suburbia prices, but pricing shouldn't be comparable to Manhattan. read more

We had an event here, but unfortunately were disappointed. Heaters were not working. The floor was not vacuumed prior to arrival and the coordinator we worked with throughout was not present for the event which lead to mix ups with food service/quantity and room set up. A portion of the floor was wet and there was water dripping in another part of the room. There was also a smell of gas. Did not live up to it's reputation of a fine dining experience and their customer service is lacking and/or non-existent after paid in full. Not worth the money we paid. read more

Ate here with a Greek couple who are regulars at Limani. The manager and chef came to our table to say hello to them. The waiter was especially attentive to our table. Needless to say, the service was impeccable. I had fish, of course, especially after viewing the fresh options in the display. It was prepared well, deboned at the table, plated beautifully. Was very excited to go to this restaurant but was really disappointed. First off, it gets two stars because the appetizers were really good. That was really the end of it. Here are the things the restaurant need to do better: 1st - we're in a pandemic. Not only were staffs not all wearing their masks, they mandate valet parking. 2nd - service was abysmal. My mother had a whole lobster on her plate and they tried to take it away. Also, they dropped food on her chair and when i confronted him, he said it's not on the chair, it's on the floor. I pointed to the chair and said there's a whole chunk of crap he dropped there. He laughed and without apology, walked away. 3rd - it was very very hot in the restaurant. The restaurant was full. Air flow was practically nonexistent. There was a fan but it was blowing at another table. Each time we complained, the waiter turned the fan to blow at us. Then the other table complains and they turned it to them. We asked for another fan but they said they did not have. 4th - beside the appetizer, the food was not delicious at all. High ceilings and a large open bar / dining area make the place seem endless- in fact it is much bigger than it looks when you pull up to it. Older crowd, well heeled and a lot of conspicuous consumption- but it is nice overall. Food is good, I wouldn't call it outstanding, but taken as a whole, the place is above average. Best spot for a nice Sunday brunch. Their food is awesome, valet parking available which makes this place super convenient and easy but adds a little more $ to your bill lol. Many options for food including anything from sushi and omelettes to a carving station with lamb and prime rib. They have an extremely extensive brunch menu. What is keeping me from giving this 5 Stars is due to the fact that when u go with a large party the waiters will know that they're receiving a tip which gives them an "idc" attitude. They don't speak much, they are often forgetful and just rush and pick up the plates without saying excuse me or even asking if we're done with our plates. It is pricy but the food is very very good. If they included more than just 1 small glass of a complimentary drink and if their drinks weren't $16 a pop it would also be better. This is a tricky one. The food is great. It has been since the restaurant opened in 2008. For most of its life, the restaurant has attracted local residents from Roslyn, Manhasset, Old Westbury, and other North Shore enclaves. It was stylish and a destination-- a place to be, to be seen, and to see familiar faces. These days-- not so much. The crowd is rough, and decidedly not from anywhere north of the LIE or between the Queens and Suffolk borders. Is that guy wearing a baseball cap at a restaurant? Is that woman (with long pink nails and a loud voice) licking her fingers at the table? Why do 20 guys in the main dining room look like the bad guy from some 80s movie or someone on the FBI watch list? Oh, Limani. You were once the hottest res in the neighborhood. Time to put a bouncer and a red rope at the door and steer the riff-raff toward The Capital Grille at Roosevelt Field or some other "nice" restaurant just not near here. Save Limani! read more

They have multiple help walking on the floor, so no acknowledgement goes unanswered. We came here for my husbands birthday dinner on a Monday night. I have to say everything was great! The atmosphere and character pf the place was lovely. We started our meal with the some clams on the half shell and the arugula salad. The clams were very fresh and the salad delicious. We moved on to the grilled octopus, which was amazing! Really amazing! Super tender and flavorful! At the waiters suggestion we had the Black Sea bass for 2. Again, amazing! Flaky, flavorful, well prepared. I highly recommend it!! Dessert was the apple dish, which my husband loved (I am not a sweet eater) I asked the bus man for a glass of Honey Jack on the rocks and I dont think he understood as he said they didnt have it. We were seated in the lounge and I then saw a bottle and when he came by again I pointed it out. Got me one straight away. I guess the ONLY issue I had the entire meal was that they put the wine bucket far away from us and weren't as attentive as they could have been on filling our glasses. read more

Went here today for a holiday office party and I must say everything was phenomenal!!! First of all..I love this place. I've been here before and it still remains one of my top go-to's! For appetizers we had fried calamari, horiatiki salad, kolokithi, and the pita spread. All were awesome! The fried calamari was very light and tasty. The salad had juicy red tomatoes! I liked how they were displayed by the kitchen..I thought that looked great. For my entree I had the royal dorado (fish) which was so so delicious! Everything looked awesome and you can just tell it's cooked to absolute perfection! . The desserts were aaaaaaamazing! The yogurt, walnut cake..I believe that's what it was..and the baklava. Wonderful fresh fish and consistently well prepared Greek dishes with every visit here. Combined with the ambiance and decor, this is a restaurant worth dining at! The bar is absolutely stunning and there are small side tables that you can dine at if you wish. There are two large dining rooms and there is also a wine cellar room for private parties. One and done. My fiancé and I had dinner here last night and the food was ok. We were met, not greeted, by two dull and dour looking women standing at the hostess stand. The restaurant is spacious and cold. I would make a suggestion that women bring a jacket or a blanket if you decide to come here. I almost froze to death. It was extremely frigid. I wore a blazer and I was still cold. My fiancé never gets cold and he was chilly. We shared an order of the zucchini and eggplant chips. They were lightly fried, well-seasoned and came with four fried pieces of Greek cheese on the side. They were very good. As an entree, I ordered the Yellowfin Tuna. It was lightly seasoned and seared rare. Very good. My fiancé ordered the Branzino. It was dry. We ordered the Abalone mushrooms as a side and they were ok. The service was fine but a waiter kept running into the back of my chair all night. Weird. At least the drinks were great. I ordered a Passionate Punch cocktail and an Espresso martini for dessert and they were fantastic. The bathroom attendant in the ladies' room is so cute. Came for my birthday with my fiancè. We started with the seafood tower for two which was full of fresh clams and oysters in the half shell, shrimp cocktail, crab cocktail, a cracked lobster and mussels. Delicious. I could have lived without the mussels but they weren't bad. I got the grilled lobster and he got bone in rib eye. We got asparagus and potatoes as a side. This wasn't my favorite preparation of the lobster but it was good and came cracked. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sides well balanced. For dessert we got their custard dish. Delicious. We were looking forward to trying Limani and were sadly very disappointing. Food is terrible and it's definitely overpriced for what we got. Appetizers were just blah. The $75 Dover sole was disgusting.... tasteless, rubbery and was cold when it got to me. Did not send back because I didn't want to spoil a special occasion we were celebrating with the family, but no one at the table enjoyed their food. Sides were not much better and dessert was disappointing as well. I came with a party of 8 for my mother's birthday. The appetizers were great until my mother tried going to the bathroom and realized there was chewing GUM stuck all over her pants and down vest! We looked at the seat she was sitting on and was horrified to see gum smeared all over the chair! For an "upscale" restaurant like this we were so surprised and immediately called the manager who offered "dry cleaning" if we drop off the pants tomorrow. We live in the city and for me drive 20 miles to drop off clothes to dry clean is RIDICULOUS! The manager then offered us dessert on the house but we refused. We wanted a better solution, which he offered dry cleaning. We went in for a nice dinner and instead was treated with disrespect. If you want gum stuck all over your clothes and pay hundreds of dollars for dinner, then you should go here. Otherwise, if I could I would give this place negative stars for their unsanitary conditions and disrespect for their customers. EDIT-- Got a call from the manager on the evening of 1/22/20 around 7pm stating that because of writing a bad review he was no longer inclined to dry clean the gum off my clothes, which happened at his restaurant under his management. He also told me he was going to "sleep well" after yelling over the phone and abruptly hanging up before I had the chance to speak. He should grow up and act like an adult. read more

Been many times, always good and dependable with fresh fish. But last night following the advice of one of the senior waiters, I had the veal chop. I can say with confidence it is the best veal chop I have ever had. It was crispy on the outside with a nice seasoning, while tender on the inside. If I could give 0 stars I would the quality of food was horrible service wasn't great either My steak was over salted aNd when I complained I overheard the cook with a beard calling me derogatory names in spanish which I understood. Later on the next day myself and my friend became violently ill with what felt like food poisoning.
