This will be long, but I think when you're putting the life of your child into someone's hands then…read moreit's better to be knowledgable and detailed then to be in the dark and vague. I chose this pediatrician while I was pregnant with my son who is now a year old. I wanted to wait before I wrote a review. His doctor is Dr. Jean Russel, she is amazing and I chose her during my pregnancy because of her knowledge and experience under her belt. I wanted someone with experience so I wouldn't have to worry about anything if the occasion arises. I.E, major surgery. I am more than pleased with her, however, for the year that my son has been going, he has only seen her twice. Now, my son has been seen by nurse practitioners (NP). My only complaint about the NP is the one I had a bad experience, I'm a parent I not only have high standards and expectations but she was fairly young, judgemental with tone and glances and my husband and I. Comparing the information she gave me to what another np that I absolutely admire Natasha and Dr. Russel was off-putting. She also nitpicked at every little thing, he is a child and children are messy, what can we do? My other complaint that has been not resolved but nothing major anymore was the looks and stares we received as a family for the first few visits. We are a young interracial couple, this is our first born so we have medical. The stares were as if we shouldn't be there and the tone of voice used toward us as if we were children. When I say we are young we are in our 20's. It wasn't just the front staff that gave us this may be unintentional feeling but the medical assistants as well. I believe all it took was a positive attitude, politeness, and patience for them to open up. Now everyone is very sweet and responds well to my family and me. Overall, I think this is probably the best pediatricians office I have heard of and experienced. Other mothers have complained about their pediatricians and I am grateful. They are also very prompt on calling back and answering phone calls. I love that there are two waiting rooms, one for ill children and another for well children. The on-call nurse will always call you back and if she's not there a NP or DR will give you a call instead and they are very helpful. They are also open on Saturdays for ill children if it's urgent. They will always try their very best to get you the soonest appointment as possible. They care about children and that's what I appreciate.

He's funny and has a great bedside manner with my son, who was born underweight and under duress, and I can already see the effects of solid advice and many years of experience in my son's growth. Doctor Jones has ensured that I have all the information I need in an easy to understand, anecdotal manner, and his staff shares his warm sensibility. The girls are a bit... Not rude, but they do put their conversations first if there's not a line, and I get that - they're nurses first and foremost, not customer service specialists. Their bedside manner doesn't suffer from the same issues, thankfully, and they have all been nothing but pleasant to work with. I'm very glad to be a patient here.

There's also a bathroom that's available for patients to use in the waiting room as well. My daughter woke up with a fever this morning so I called the office around 10am and they were quick to schedule an appointment for her the same day to be seen. When we arrived checking in was easy. We were greeted by Yadira at the front desk who had the sweetest smile, even my 2 year old son who is pretty shy warmed up to her quickly. Our wait time in the waiting room was probably less than 2 minutes. When you enter the door to go to your room, you're welcomed by this beautiful carousel horse. We were taken into our designated room which the doors were color coded. I love that idea especially for kids to learn and know their colors. The medical assistant Normie was very kind and caring. She was empathetic when she saw how sick my daughter was feeling. She had done a nasal swab to test for flu and Covid and was very gentle with her. Dr. Garcia was very kind and thorough with his exam. He explained everything clearly and answered all of my questions in a manner that I can easily understand. He spent a good amount of time with us which made our visit feel so much better. Most doctors make you feel rushed but he didn't make us feel that way at all. I highly recommend Dr. Garcia to anyone looking for a pediatrician. He's a great doctor that's knowledgeable and his office staff is amazing.

My son latched on right away, however I needed help with proper latching. Mary was so sweet and set a time to meet with me to help me make sure I was properly positioned. Being a first time mom I left feeling more confident and at peace. Also Dr. kratzer is patient and and arrived shortly after my son was born. Michelle the NP is amazing she so sweet and great with kids, she's easy to talk to and just a kind person she's good and knows her stuff! I hope she never leaves Dr.kratzer office. I've also met with Kerin and she's a great listener, patient, and will give you great suggestions before trying medicine. Kira the front staff is a sweet heart. Billing is a little up tight at times, she sometimes helps in the front not as friendly, but she has gotten better. Overall medical staff is awesome. There is a long wait time but I understand why...they truly take their time with each patient and never make you feel rushed. So my advice is take a new toy a couple of new books make sure your baby has had a snack before going in to hold them over during the wait time it's hard to find medical care where doctors and nurses really want to get to know their patient's. They even call a few days later to check in with you and baby to make sure they're doing better... you just can't get that type of care anyway. I also like that Dr. Kratzer doesn't push medication right away they take more of a holistic approach but I believe because they really listen to the parent concerns and what has been going on to make a determination before just giving a child medicine or antibiotics. I'm big on natural remedies so I appreciate their perspective.

Red flag #1 was when the doctor made several comments about my 7-year-old's silver crowns. It came off very passive aggressive, judgy, and shameful. Things that I don't think I should feel after a health care appointment. It came to the point that as we were leaving a family in front of us were getting suckers and when my daughter politely asked if she could have one, the doctor replied "I'm not sure that's a good idea, it looks like you have way too much sugar already". Red flag #2 was when my daughter was prescribed a new medication and when I called for a refill I was told this practice charges $10 to refill a prescription. On top of the actual cost at the pharmacy. That's an additional $120 a month. I cannot wrap my brain around why they would do this. I decided to go elsewhere.
