Most years, Five Stone has been successful in getting the appraised value of my home lowered - sometimes by a lot. I think the fee they charge for this is reasonable, and they seem to be efficient and very easy to deal with. Usually, we exchange only 1 or 2 messages per year. They donate a substantial portion of their profit (about a third) to local charities, and they invite their clients to choose from a list. They're a great business; highlky recommend.

They did zero work, literally zero, as soon as we signed up they literally told us to go find comparable property sales ourselves and sent a bill at the same time because they wouldn't do any work to try and protest for us thus they knew we would not find any savings. They should at least have a policy that if they have zero data they can use to make a case, you should not pay anything to them at all since they won't do anything. I would not use them again, I have contacted state representatives to suggest regulating this industry due to unethical companies like this one.

Since this mistake was brought to light, Spencer did not return any of my calls or emails. I then called the office and spoke to Frank who assured me he would take care of it. This happened last year and here we are months later and this issue is still not resolved. Every time I call their office number, all I get is their voice message and despite leaving messages, I've not had not one call returned. They have a portal to which Frank has answered some of my questions but when I messaged him on Dec. 8th to ask about the status of my payment, I've yet to get a reply. I just called this morning again and YET AGAIN, the answering machine came on! Looks like I will be handling this directly with the IRS. Worst service I have ever received from any tax preparer. This is a family run business so you are not gonna get anywhere with Spencer, Frank, or Laura! I am forced to give them a star in order to publish this but that is not because they deserve 1 star.
