I would recommend one of the curry soups - green, red or tom kha gai, which are all spicy and have a real zing. The noodle woks are often less inspiring and a tad too greasy. Apart from the food, the place doesn't look like much, and you have to collect yor cutlery and glasses from plastic boxes at the till - but this has always been part of the charm to me. The food is also on the cheap side - ca 149NOK for a main course. The location is very central, so if you should find yourself in Trondheim and fancy a flovour fest but don't want to splurge, I can heartily recommend Bangkok Cafe!

You will have to order at the counter (in the meantime have a look in the kitchen where the Thai prepare your dinner), pay immediately and they will serve it at your table. You can choose to sit at a normal table or at one on the platform (take your shoes off!) where you have a hole under the table so you don't have to sit on your legs. The food is very good! I had the fishcakes and the green curry. They were both very delicious! A lot of flavours and not too spicy for me (I ordered medium hot). Do not expect a chique restaurant, but expect a very nice meal!

I've been to this restaurant a few times and every time there has been bad service. From a waitress…read moresnapping her fingers at out table and commanding us to order after having been there only a few minutes to our last experience where the hostess told us she didn't have a table and proceeded to sit another party without a reservation only seconds later. When we asked her why she suddenly did have a table she couldn't come up with an answer or even an apology.
