The unit is well over 15 years old and both companies gave us quotes to replace the outside unit and HVAC system. First company quoted us $14k-$16k for a whole system... . We have 2. Second company quoted us $9k. Way better, but still felt a pit in my stomach dropping that amount on one unit. Called Josh (who was super busy btw) and he worked us into his schedule as soon as he could. Came out and looked at the unit, did a few checks. Then went to look at the HVAC in the basement and came up 10 mins later and the unit was working like nothing ever happened. I'm so grateful to him because he did what others would not/could not do... put the customers needs first. He wasn't looking out for his sales or pocket, but for our family. I will only do business with Shaw from now on and I recommend you seriously consider Josh. Sometimes it's great to have a local guy, who's working hard for the community looking out for you. I accidently found him…read morelast summer and, from the first visit at my home, I had a great feeling about him and how he handles business. He was very professional, was kind and I really appreciated how patient he was listening, then answering my questions (and that last attribute is hard to find these days). Where I live, my air system was set up a bit different than the typical ways he sees and, before I knew it, the first 55 mins he spent at my home, ended up with him trying to figure out where my power source (for my central air) was located. After finally asking me and learning I didn't know either, he apologized, telling me how sorry he was but, he wasn't an electrician and I'd have to first get one of them out to locate the power source. Luckily, just by chance, I accidentally found the power source and, he was able to continue to fix my air that day. When it came time for me to pay, even though he had spent almost an entire hour just searching and not fixing, he told me he wasn't going to charge me for that hour. He could have easily charged me for it since I should have been able to show him just where the power source was and it wasn't his fault he couldn't (with my weird layout). That told me right off the bat that Josh was a good man who wasn't about just making as much money as he could. He felt that treating customers fairly, and honestly, was most important! (another hard attribute to find these days!) I have had him out a few times more since that first time last summer and, each time he always treated me with the same respect, honesty and patience and I feel strongly that I can trust anything he tells me when it comes to repairs I do, or do not need. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NOT ONLY GOOD WORK BUT, ALSO HONESTY!! THANKS JOSH!
