My issue is entirely with the front office and billing process. At my first appointment, the office couldn't verify my dental insurance because they were using the wrong insurance portal. I ended up spending a significant portion of my appointment on the phone with United Concordia, walking the office staff through how to verify my coverage. Because of the delay, they only had time to complete the exam, and I had to schedule a second appointment for my cleaning. Later, I received another call saying my referral only covered a limited exam, but they had scheduled and performed a comprehensive exam instead. I provided my referral before the appointment and again when I checked in. If the referral didn't authorize the services they planned to perform, that should have been identified before my appointment, not after the services were completed. Now I'm being told I may be responsible for charges if the referral isn't updated, even though this was something the office could have addressed beforehand. To make matters more frustrating, I contacted United Concordia and learned they hadn't even submitted the claim yet, despite telling me there could be issues with coverage. When I asked to speak with an office manager to resolve my concerns, I was told they don't have one. The clinical care was excellent, which is why I'm not giving one star. However, the front office's handling of insurance, referrals, and billing created unnecessary stress and multiple extra phone calls. I hope they improve their administrative processes because the providers themselves deserve a much better support team.

My tooth still hurts and bleeds easily, and I'm in a every day pain and Im not able to eat for that side. I went couple weeks ago so they can check and correct the problem, and their response was that they wouldn't do anything because nothing looked wrong. They left me dealing with the pain and irritation; their only solution was to alter the neighboring tooth just to close the gap caused by the crown. In my view, it was completely unprofessional, and they made me feel like I didn't matter to them. My insurance was billed over 10k for my first visit, which maxed me out for the entire year. Was…read moretold they'd need me to pay out of pocket for all other treatments after that. Was told I needed a ton of procedures including a special cleaning that was not covered by insurance and would have to come in every 3-4 months for this specialized cleaning - when I went to another dentist for a second option they said I didn't need any of those things suggested. I feel like they just billed for every single thing they possibly could to get as much money out of my insurance as possible. (The second opinion dentist I went to billed less than $1k for a new patient visit and cleaning, etc.) I had a root canal done here at the suggestion of the dentist, they started it, couldn't finish it so I had to wait a week for a different specialist to fix it (they fixed it right away and said it was just a pretty routine procedure meaning it shouldn't have taken a specialist to fix) and then went back to this dentist for the crown. (I was told I'd need two root canals. The second dentist said I did not need the second root canal and probably didn't even need the first one done either!) The crown cracked completely after only 4 months, and when I had to get it replaced, they made it significantly smaller than my other teeth which caused my bottom tooth to move to compensate for my bite. My bite has been off ever since and it's been almost 2 years now and I still have jaw pain every single day. This was the most regrettable experience, coming here. I never had any tooth issues before in my life, and only came for a routine cleaning and now I have chronic jaw pain and have to go see another specialist to deal with that. The jaw pain causes lack of sleep, headaches, neck and should pain as well. This was a traumatizing experience which makes it difficult to trust any other dentist or procedure and I never had anxiety about going to the dentist before. If you go here and they suggest you need thousand of dollars of work, always get a second opinion.
