They allowed a known biter to play with my child unsupervised.
Steve S.

This is the WORST daycare I have ever encountered. If you are looking for a daycare, look elsewhere. My child was attending for less than a week before we encountered issues. Another child scratched and bit my child at least 4 times before the caregivers noticed anything. They informed me of the incident, but other than that they were utterly unhelpful, uncaring and unwilling to help or give further assistance or information. The other child was known to be a biter, yet they allowed other children to be around them without supervision. I have attached photos of the incident.

From the very first day here, all our worries disappeared. Miss Vijaya is absolutely amazing and has a genuine love and concern for the children she looks after. My son has been so happy since day one--he eats well, participates in tons of fun activities, and comes home excited to tell me about his day (if I can even convince him to leave, that is!). The warmth and attention he receives have completely transformed him into a confident, happy child. Knowing that he is cared for so lovingly has given me such peace of mind. This daycare is truly a hidden gem, and I would recommend it to any parent looking for a nurturing and supportive environment for their little ones.

Miss Vijaya sends us the meal plan each week (tuition includes breakfast, lunch and snack), and sends updates and lots of pictures throughout the day. After a year at KCS, I can honestly say I can't imagine my daughter going anywhere else. Picking a…read moreday care or school was one of the harder things I've had to do as a parent (so far). As a working parent, there's so much guilt about not spending "that" time with your child that you want to ensure they're given the attention and love you would have provided. I am impressed with the quality of the teachers in the school (specifically in the infant and toddler room), the genuine care and love they have for kids, and the well rounded curriculum, even at the toddler age. There isn't a day my daughter doesn't come home with a new set of words, or experiences and I love that they understand the capabilities of each child and are invested in helping each of them learn at their own pace.

They have such an impressive array of outdoor/playground areas for the kids to enjoy in rain or shine. I could not imagine a more well run daycare!  They really know what they are doing!!! They were great at keeping up with latest Covid recommendations from the state for daycares and communicating the updates to everyone as clearly as possible. My friends with kids elsewhere would ask me about KCS Covid guidelines, and were always so impressed with how well KCS managed the craziness of the past couple years. I am sad that my eldest will be leaving KCS, but happy my youngest has another couple years.  Today was the last day of the school year, and my kids' teachers gave such touching cards and gifts to my kids for them to remember the year.  Thank you to everyone at KCS!  One of the best choices I ever made was deciding to send my kids here!

She…read morestarted off in the infant room - low teacher/student ratio, lots of books, toys & two of the best infant teachers you could ever ask for. Olga & Irina are amazing. It was also comforting to see that there were no TVs, swings or jumpers -- nope -- they actually rock babies to sleep in their arms & interact with them 1:1. The center director is super sharp (I was blown away that she could remember my babies birthday off the top of her head), kind, attentive & runs a tight ship. When it was time for my daughter to transition to the toddler room, they made it as easy as possible. They worked out a schedule so that my daughter didn't feel like she was being thrown out of her old classroom and into a new one with way bigger kids. Their #1 concern was that my daughter didn't feel stressed or displaced. The price? Yep - it's expensive, but you're getting the best care and, come on, you've got some precious cargo - if you can afford it, it's worth it. Highly recommend!

That seems standard for childcare centers, unfortunately, and I would've given 4 stars except my 18mo-old child contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, which is highly communicable. I expected him to come home with a cold -- because daycare -- but this resulted in multiple ER and doctor visits and 2 weeks of recovery for our entire family. So I don't think it was worth the cost or effort to get there (45min commute each direction). Time-wise, it would've been better for me to just take 3 days off work and hang out with my kid instead of using backup care to end up at this location. But at least his immune system is a little more fortified, I guess?! Also, I have a feeling the only reason BH Kirkland had an opening for us in the first place (our original reservation at a different BH center closer to us was canceled last minute because they had no space) was because someone ended up out sick and staff clearly didn't take appropriate cleaning and sanitizing protocols as a result.

During both these instances, he had very good growth both in learning and social engagement. The staff were very engaging and understanding with kid's growing needs. During the first stint, as a 2 year old, he had a lot of separation anxiety, all through the year, but his class teacher slowly eased him into the group and he opened up eventually to the class (teacher as well as his peer students). During the second stint, as a 4 year old, he was in the pre-school class and we saw incredible growth both in the academic front as well as social front. He showcased independent learning and started to talk about the concepts he learned in class to us and as well to his elder brother. Over all, we saw a great service delivered by the school to us as a family and instilled the value of learning and engagement to our kid.
