I asked how long it usually takes and she said maybe an hour and a half for long hair. We were desperate, so I said okay. The woman was half an hour late. She doused us in olive oil and combed for 3 and a half hours. She left used gloves out and oil all over the floor and they charged out credit card $706. I am so happy I called Rona! And relieved! After combing and shampooing 3 times at home with over the counter shampoo, I was still finding eggs in my daughter's hair and wasn't sure if my husband and I had gotten lice too. I was frustrated and traumatized after picking the critters out by hand because the store bought lice shampoos really didn't kill them all. Fellow parents advised me to go to CVS immediately and purchase the louse treatment for the whole family. Under extreme duress, I arrived at CVS at 8:30 pm on pre-holiday Wednesday. Kneeling down on the floor of the drugstore trying to decide which treatment to purchase, I was approached by a soft spoken woman wearing scrubs. She quietly handed me her card and told me she could help me. I looked up at her and mumbled something about being totally freaked out. She was so calm. I needed calm. Rona offers in home lice treatment. Even on Thanksgiving morning! I did not trust myself to find the nits, as I had been checking my daughters hair for over two weeks to no avail- until that night. Those buggers are SMALL! Rona left CVS, I called my husband and put the CVS brand treatment back (they were $19 vs. the name brand which we're $30). Under Rona's advice, I bought olive oil instead, called her to arrange for her to come to our house and followed her instructions. To my horror, my extremely long and thick haired child had a bad case of lice. I called Rona at 730 am Monday morning, and she was at my house combing out my kid at 9. She was patient, gentle, and very kind. She brought us brownies. 2 hours later my kid (and I!) were lice and nit free.
