    Iced Ube latte with espresso
    Novella N.

I am so happy I work closer to this place now so I could finally try it out! I came here on my lunch break to try the Ube latte. I added espresso for an extra kick. Definitely on the sweeter side but it was delicious! I need to come back to try the pandesal and other imported Filipino treats. The cafe is just steps away from the Hawthorne train station (and free parking out back if you drive).

I should have written a review sooner. I have now been to this cafe a few times, and each time I've received warm and welcoming reception and very good service. I've tried a few things on the menu and since opening the pastry selection has expanded. But in addition to many of the traditional pastries you can find in other local cafes, they have unique selections such as ube cheesecake and pandesal. Lots of space, comfortable seating. No offensively loud music. Just an overall relaxed experience.

Come visit this hidden gem tucked away in Hawthorne, NY! Come in for a light breakfast or a snack to munch on with their various pandesals! For those who might not be too familiar with Filipino culture, pandesal is the staple breakfast bread that jump starts every Filipino's day with a hot cup of coffee! Accompany your pandesal with their delicious Ube Latte for a creamy surprise! If you're in the Westchester County area, stop by this lovely cafe for a taste of true Filipino hospitality!

The India Center is a rentable space for Indian functions and gatherings and layout is a tad tricky when visiting for the first time, as you'd have to park in the back, locate the stairway closer to N. Goodwin Ave., then leads you, to their wrap around, upper level. Monali G. (Ghosh) advertised her trunk show through Eventbrite which she hooked up, with classy Indian clothing, accessories and jewelry selections with a modern flair. With years in corporate America, Monali G, went out of her PepsiCo realm and saw a prime opportunity to make a career change. She now devotes all her time to fully establish her company and traveling to further promote her fashions, nation and worldwide. I was particularly turned on by her exquisite jewelry and accessories though and couldn't take my eyes at how detailed and intricate many of her necklaces were completed. Monali G. specializes in exceptional women's jewelry and are done in silver, with a gold-plate finish. But don't let the "gold finish"deter you from making any purchases. Her gold-tone pieces, are just as elegant as those in solid gold. Even as I tried some of her pieces on the spot, I felt her jewelry, delivered such a graceful air to them. In the end, I purchased a really delicate gem stone bracelet and a gorgeous colorful clutch done with authentic Indian fabric in faux-leather. Beautiful! Not sure, if there would be another event as colorful as Monali G's, at the India Center, but pleased that she's straight out, right on the money and women of color, are thriving as entrepreneurs. Also wishing Monali G. success in reaching the top of her game!!!

The wine flight did not disappoint -- we tried the red, white & a combination, all solid pours. The cheese box is necessary if you're trying the flight ( or you can bring your own food). Highly recommend booking an igloo and making a night of it!

Aquila's gives a 30-minute grace period, which helped since the area gets very dark at night and the roads are narrow. I knew ahead of time there would be a lobster food truck and a live salsa band. When you arrive, you check in with the hostess, though there's no clear hostess stand since she's stationed at the end of the bar. The inside was crowded with no available seats, but we weren't there for the band anyway. Our igloo had a heater, but two would've been ideal. They recommend bringing a blanket, which I forgot, but it wasn't too cold--around the high 40s. We tried the "Sweet Wine Flight," which included Sparkling Rosé, Moscato, and white and red wine slushies. The white wine slushy was my favorite. It started raining while we were there, and everyone with fire pits cleared out, so I was extra glad we chose an igloo. They offered a cheese box, but it looked too small, so we stuck to drinks. Our server was polite and brought everything out quickly. Reservations give you two hours, and we had a great time. I like the variety of reservation options they offer. For suggestions: it would be nice to have a real charcuterie board instead of tiny cheese and veggie boxes. The indoor space could also be larger, especially for people coming for the live band, and there are no seats around the bar. Overall, though, it's a cozy spot, and I enjoyed the experience.
