Some sales take longer than others. I had seen a picture at the Peter Lik Gallery in Key West 20 years ago. Yes, 20 years ( I thought about it same amount of time I dated my wife before asking her to marry me. ) We met Trevor and asked him to show us a picture of the Androscoggin river in Maine, , runs behind our home there, and he knew right away what I was talking about. When the lights came on in the showing area, I quickly recognized this as the same picture, but I was 20 years older and this time it did not speak to me. Undaunted, Trevor began to focus on us and what might spark our interest. We settled upon "Sunday Drive" (it also reminded us of our home in Greene Maine) Now hangs in our Florida home but may soon end up in Maine leaving once again a blank spot over the mantle -- and the search continues! read more

Despite LIK Key West insisting our $12,000 Peter Lik photo would not fade in our indoor pool house, it did indeed fade dramatically after just 4 years. They've refused to do anything useful to help us, except have us ship our now faded useless print back to them at our own expense and order a replacement for an additional $6,000. Their 99% UV protection claim was a lie, as was their insistence the photo would be safe in our pool house from water and sun. I've attached photos of what happened to our print after just 4 years. Cost of ownership, $3,000 a year, and now the print is junk, despite the windows in our pool house also having a UV protection coating. Do some research on this over-priced scam of a dealer before buying. Virtually identical, and often times better prints are available from other photographers at prices less than half of what they're charging. Support a new generation of up-and-coming photographers, instead of putting more money into Peter Lik's billion dollar empire with horrible customer service. This is a $12,000 mistake down the drain, and this dealer should be ashamed for their horribly deceptive practices. read more

My husband and I first admired Peter Lik's photography at his art gallery in South Beach. At the time, we were recent college grads and could not afford to own an original Peter Lik, but seven years later we find ourselves in a Peter Lik gallery in Key West. The staff was great, not pushy at all. You can tell they are huge fans of Peter Lik so we had a lot of fun discussing his masterpieces. My husband tried to buy a piece on our first night in Key West, but made the selection without discussing with me first. I wasn't crazy about the piece my husband had selected. Don't get me wrong, it was a gorgeous snapshot taken along one of the beaches in Hawaii, but I felt no connection with the photo so we went back to our hotel empty handed and discussed which our favorite pieces were. Our last night in Key West we took the Plunge and purchased our first Peter Lik piece, "Bella Vista". I absolutely love this shot!!! We paired the photo with stunning cigar leaf frame and it looks absolutely stunning on our bedroom wall. We also received the Elements pack which includes four smaller shots taken in Italy. I look forward to visiting again so we can slowly grow our Peter Lik collection! read more

Dear Peter Lik, Well, after pigging out on Duval Street at a local restaurant, we knew it was time to start walking to help us digest and breathe. It was a beautiful afternoon out and the weather was nice and warm. There's wasn't even a cloud in the sky. So it was definitely perfect for walking off dinner. :) Making our way down Duval, in and out of all the shops, we came across one that really stood out. I think it was the majestic picture of the ghost within the rocks that made us stop in. That picture is so captivating and enchanting. Its as though there is really a ghost, although I think it can be explained as desert dust caught in a ray of light... We were truly amazed and in awe at the beauty of your photography and art. Your Key West Gallery is just stunning. Your photography is literally out of this world. Your technique of using a photopaper that has silver ore in it is genius. The silver in the paper makes the picture stand out and makes each look as though there's some kind of a glowing light behind it, when its just the natural light from the room reflecting on the silver. STUNNING, if I haven't said it enough already. Thank you for displaying your masterpieces for all to see. Soon I hope to afford to have one hanging in my own home. I know exactly what I want now. :) Oh, and how could I almost forget? The Art Consultant of your gallery, Melanie Rodriguez, was just super. She was very informative and took the extra step to explain your techniques and show us how truly unique your art really is. If you like photography or great art, you need to check out his gallery or his website. For those of you have never heard of Peter Lik, he's a master photographer unlike any other from Australia. He doesn't use any special manipulation techniques although it looks like he does. The guy there told me that he uses some kind of special film and technique to create surreal photographs of landscapes and animals mostly. They say seeing is beleiving, so if you're not familair with his work, check it out @ www.peterlik.com He only has one gallery in CA. I'm not sure where it is. I wish that I could afford his amazing photographs like his celebrity clients can, but his artwork cost thousand of dollars for one piece. Beautiful artwork shown off in a beautiful gallery. Trevor - the assistant gallery director - was kind enough to show us several of Peter Lik's work in the viewing rooms with special lighting. Truly amazing. We were 'that' close to buying one. We will definitely be saving to get one of these pieces someday. read more

Unbelievably work. Outstanding artist. I walked around and was in awe of all of his photo's. Staff was very helpful. Wanted more information as my girlfriend is a photographer. They were helpful to provide many details of equipment and film that Peter uses. Prices were not to bad. Everything is limited edition and if you see it you will know why. Make sure you go to the back private viewing room with the salesman. There are some great pictures on the wall in there. And the lighting will make you fell like you are in Maui! I won't give anymore away as you have to experience it! read more

Tho I haven't visited the Key West location, it sounds very similar to other Lik galleries I have. The artwork is stunning and exquisite. After eyeing "Enchanted Jetty" for years, I finally found the means to justify my first Lik purchase. For good measure we purchased the Venezia element package as well. Just waiting for its arrival. I absolutely love Peter Lik photography. I enjoyed the gallery at it was one of my favorite stops in Key West. The art work was/is breath taking to say the least. I most admire the Tree of Life. I recently called this Gallery to inquire about this piece knowing the 250K was too steep.I asked about prints. I spoke with a man named (I will keep private) who was completey rude and unprofessional. He told me that they sold artwork not posters. I said I was sorry I did not mean to insult him. He offered no apologies at that time. I hope to buy an original Peter Lik piece more in my price range; but it will not be from this gallery. I guess they are doing well and do not need my business. read more
