My wife an I went to Alan's gallery as we were walking Duval Street. His photography is amazing and really captures the essence of the keys. We found many pieces, but a couple that really spoke to us. We were fortunate enough to meet Alan in person and he spent time with us, explained some of his pieces and even took us back to when he shot the piece we purchased. Husband and I wandered in while checking out the vast array of galleries and we were completely stunned by the beauty of Alan's work. Our home is approaching completion of a full gut reno and Alan has been nothing but patient these past 9 or 10 months, while I hemmed and hawed over which piece should go where and what it should be. He has the patience of a saint and has been nothing but a delight to work with. Was sent mock ups to see the size options and the actual piece in my space. Really helpful. I loved that Alan followed up with me every 4 or 5 weeks just to check in and see where we were at in our process. Always a fan of browsing through art and photo galleries, I read about this shop after first getting to town. The store has a beautiful collection of prints, on all different mediums - tin, matted, greeting cards, coasters or covering an entire wall! The customization options are really pretty great. I met Gail, who is so pleasant and friendly. She has a great knowledge of the artist and his work and is very professional. The pictures show the history of Florida along with the wildlife and of course the incredible sea and skies. The gallery has a second floor with more prints and a sale room in the back on the same level you should be sure to check out. Serendipity. On our first trip to Key West, a few years after buying our condo with a view of the water, we stumbled across this gallery where the photos really caught our eye. We had been looking at galleries throughout the world for just that right piece to fill our living room wall. We found that photo in Alan's gallery that expressed our love of water, spoke to our lifestyle, and enhanced our decor. Alan and staff worked with us to get the right dimensions for a triptych to fill an entire wall. Alan is fun, friendly and genuine in working with clients, and so we really had a good experience. The very large prints were shipped to us and now pull together all the elements of our living room. This one experience really made Key West a place where we'd return in a heartbeat. There are a few photographer's galleries in Key West, but this one is the best. Mr. Maltz images are much more natural and realistic. Mr. Maltz took the time to chat with us and point out pieces that we might like based on our conversation. He told us where and when the shots were taken right down to the time of day.
