Dr. Huo is awesome! On my very first visit, she knew what test to order. Excellent practitioner!

She seems knowlegeable but very difficult to understand. Very matter of fact, does not smile. Sadly I can not recommend this doctor.

Doctor is friendly enough but fails to give concrete advice, does not make changes to my meds even though being diabetic and having many low sugars in the middle of the night. He is an Endocrinologist and has checked my feet once in 15 years. I am DIABETIC. He tells me that he "thinks" I have Cushing Syndrome, but not sure. He has been saying this for two years. His practice was supposed to be dissolving and I never got a letter stating this. One of the unprofessional receptionists told me over the phone in a less than professional manner. My chart is intertwined with another patient's chart and St. V's billing dept and Vice President's office cannot seem to fix the problem. It has been over 6 months of me making call after call to get someone with a clue to fix it and have been unsuccessful. Steer very far away from this practice!!

Right off the bat Dr. Majorie Safran was extremely rude from the moment she stepped into the exam room. Apparently there was a miscommunication between doctors at Umass and this appointment was scheduled too early for her to draw any conclusions on a medication my brother was recently given. She clearly took out her frustrations on my elderly parents which was totally uncalled for not to mention extremely unprofessional. Please understand my parents have raised my older special needs brother from birth and he is their life. The first thing to come from her mouth was "I don't know why you are here?". She then proceeded to degrade my mother when ever my mom tried to provide any information regarding any current medication he was taking. Then my mom suggested calling the doctor at Umass who booked this appointment. Safran's response was "and who am I supposted to call?" I apologize for being long winded but am merely trying to paint a picture of how horrible our experience was with this doctor. I would not recommend using Dr. Majorie Safran.

I received a mystery bill of $426.17 for services performed at St. Vincent's hospital by a Reliant…read moredoctor. there was literally nothing explaining what this payment was for. It indicated that it was for a surgical procedure. But I never had surgery. If this procedure were performed at my local Reliant office, I would not have a $250.00 co-pay. AND THIS WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME BEFORE THE VISIT. Otherwise, the visit would have been covered by my insurance. Or at least be much less than the $426 I was billed. I called to get more information and to ask for assistance as with winter being here, $426 could purchase nearly 100 gallons of heating oil. No such luck. I was forced into maxing out my card in order to pay $375 of the $426 I owed. Even though this means that I won't be able to adequately heat my home this season. They happily took what I have left in my account leaving $2.77 and offered nothing but to extend the payment period. If I don't have the money now, I won't have it later either. Now I need to call my oil supplier and have them stop automatic delivery as I have no way to pay for it. I think it ironic that a hospital named after a Christian saint is more interested in bill collection than those who must choose between a life necessity and keeping bill collectors at bay. I wonder if the hospital would allow me to sleep in their atrium.

What that means is that instead of having your entire visit covered by your insurance in full, your visit ($595.00) will be subject to deductible. We received a bill for $342.24 after insurance paid plus another $100 for labs because now even the pap testing isn't covered because of the way it's coded/billed. Nothing different was done during this visit that wouldn't be done at any routine pap smear. This is just a money maker for the office and a HUGE scam. This was my 22 year old daughter's first pap smear. Our PCP (male) gave her this doctor's name to get her pap done because she was uncomfortable having it done by a man. Now she's saying she's just not going to have pap smears done anymore. This is a policy that MUST change. Women should not be treated this way. Shame on this office. Shame on UMASS. This overcharging it why we pay so much for insurance.

I spoke with the rudest, most unprofessional, and condescending individual. The conversation was so bad that I decided to cancel. Transferred to reception and straight to voicemail...again! 5. I was halfway home before I received a return call after leaving 2 voicemails. 6. The person knew exactly who I was referring to when I recounted the experience. Hello, I am writing…read morethis message because I feel that you have failed me as my Primary Care Provider. I have seen you or your NP, Mr. Abraham Ballah for my current condition with my back pain. The medication prescribed has been helping to get my pain from level 8 to level 5. An x-ray was ordered on the day that I saw Mr. Ballah. No one reached out to me to tell me my results. On 9/9 I left my job in an ambulance to the Emergency Department because of the pain in my back. The ED doctor suggested an MRI to see the Spine Center. The MRI was done on 9/8. However, the MRI was not read by the time of my appointment at the Spine Center with Jason Langlois, PA. on 9/18. It was a wasted appointment. I faxed my paperwork for PLML. You then referred me to the Spine Center to sign off on my PLML paperwork. Upon contacting the Spine Center, I was told that they do not sign off of PLML paperwork. I was also told by the representative that my PCP is supposed to help me with this. I spoke to the Dr. Chen at my appointment at the Spine Center on 10/18 about helping me with the PLML paperwork, and she told me that she has not ever done that. You, Dr. Semaan have basically dusted your hands with my care about my back situation once I saw the Spine Center on 9/18. I have been out of work since 9/9 due to my condition. My financial income has been severely my ability to pay my medical bills and caused a great deal of anxiety as well as bad mental health. I am unable to go back to work until a doctor listens to me. You, Dr. Semaan are my primary doctor. Which means to me that you are the doctor that should be my first PATIENT ADVOCATE! The person that referred you to me has left your care due to your poor bed side manner and lack of care for your patients. I will need to find another provider. I will be cancelling all future appointments. Very Disappointed, Ugeana Grant

Appointments are never rushed, and every time I walk in, she is on top of my previous appointments, symptoms, test results, etc. In other words; she does her homework, takes the time to know her patients and genuinely seems to care. I have been doing very well since under her treatment, and pretty much, all credit goes to her her for keeping me ambulatory these past few years. Initially, I was probably not the best patient. As likely true with most any drug(s)/treatment, sometimes they can come along with a certain amount of risk for some nasty, sometime serious side effects. Dr Moodie has always made me aware of this--and not once was I pressured, or rushed into making a decision on any particular treatment. She always gave me the facts, urged me to look into it, and I was the one who ultimately who made the decision. I'd highly recommend her, and hope she never relocates.

It is easy to be taken aback by the way Dr. Valez interacts with her staff, but she is adamant about precise organization and information about what her patients need so she can serve them both quickly and accurately. I honestly appreciate her passion for excellence. I know from listening to others in the waiting room that people often have frustrations about the time it takes to see each patient, usually somewhere around 2 hours. However, considering all the information she needs to review before performing any kind of service to your eyes, this feels acceptable to me. I have also looked into the wait times at other eye physicians around Boston and they are consistently 2-5 hour waits. I would highly recommend Dr. Valez to anyone in need of eye care. She may not carry on with small-talk or friendly conversation, but she is a true professional who wants your eye-health to improve as much as you do if not more. Thank you, Gisela.
