Be aware that laser hair removal at ANY place is not guaranteed to be effective. I got a few of large body parts done here for laser hair removal. I was able to see the difference immediately after the first session. After spending over $1,000 a lot of the hair grows back just as thick as it did before and in some places not so much. As for the service: When I come here I feel like I'm getting quality service with integrity, and Hoda is super gentle. Just to give you a heads up this service is set in an unrelated business office. Hoda has two rooms rented out here for her various services. Dont expect a spa setting. However, your skin or hair follicles dont know the difference (about the setting), so it doesnt matter. I would also recommend booking 1 or 2 sessions ahead if possible. I recommend this place.

Experience: As a new client of Karisma, I was very impressed with the service that Hoda provided to me. I went in for my first session for laser hair removal on Feb. 14th. I initially was only going in to get my underarms, but thanks to Hoda, I ended up doing all three small areas. The procedure only took 30 min. and that is for three areas. Hoda started with the paper work or admin. stuff and walked me through how we would proceed and she also took the time to explain her machines. Her newest machine is impeccable. It's performance is amazing, I barely felt anything except for a warm glaze of heat. We started my first session at a higher setting and my skin was fine, where we didn't see any inflammation or red skin. Hoda was very pleasant to work with; she approached my appointment in a professional and friendly manner. She offers many other services, in which I cannot wait to try, like photofacials. As a side note, just in case you forgot to shave a certain area or two, Hoda does offer to shave off the hair on those areas to treat. Razors are clean and disposable. Price: The cost of her services are manageable and much more affordable than other like competitors that offer similar services, such as laser hair removal. Aside from Groupon, she openly offers the same promotion in her clinic. I have three small areas to be treated by Hoda. During your appointment, you can either bring a print version of your groupon or present it from your phone, where she can scan the barcode. Please keep in mind that you have to pay for taxes during your visit. Don't forget to tip!* Location: Karisma MediSpa is located near McCowan/Ellesmere; minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre and the McCowan RT station. During weekends, there are certain procedures to enter the building, and that information can be obtained from Hoda. It's very easy finding the building; it is on the North side of St. Louis Bar and Grill. The clinic is located on the 7th floor. If you are taking the TTC; you can either exit from the mall from the Cineplex side and walk past the YMCA (3min) or exit from the McCowan RT station (3-4min). Verdict: Whether it's your first time getting laser hair removal or you're an avid experienced user, I highly recommend going to Hoda at Karisma. She's very gentle, knowledgeable, and friendly. Her machine is so impressive and you can barely feel anything, well at least for me. I cannot wait to go back for my next few sessions and see more results!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER…read more I went to my first appointment booked for 5:30pm. Since it was the first one, I thought that probably I would have to fill in some forms and I decided to arrive earlier at 5:15pm. When I arrived, the office was closed with a post-it on the door mentioning "I will come back at 5:45pm". I thought it was weird if my appointment was at 5:30pm but I decided to wait. The office is at the second floor on a building with no AC at the hallways and I did have a face mask so it was very annoying due to the hot. Then, at 5:40pm another client came and told me she did have an appointment at 5:45pm. So, when I explained to her than I had been waiting for a while she called the owner and she told her we were both there. This customer told me that she preferred calling her because the first time she went there the same thing happened to her and the owner had completely forgotten about her appointment as well. When the owner came back, she didn't even bother to apologize and she just asked the other lady to go inside instead of me who at that point had been waiting for more than 30 minutes! When I asked her about my appointment, she just told me what I was explaining was "impossible" because she did book my appointment for 6pm and that she went out at 5:30pm (seriously?! When she had done the same to the same other client on her first appointment as well? And when I had been there since 5:15pm?). In few words, after all the wait she just implied I was lying about the time of my appointment, as well as all the time I had been waiting there and she didn't even apologize. Just told me that because I did have to fill in some forms (almost at 6pm), the other customer was going first. I was VERY frustrated so I decided to find another place to go. Just a very AWFUL way to treat a customer on the first appointment!!

This was the first time I didn't feel the need to go home and wash all the product on my face. Rather, I could carry out my day and attend to my errands. In the past, no matter where I went to get facials or extractions done, my face would be red, blotchy, and oily! The days following, my skin got even better. It was glowing from within, there were no breakouts, my existing blemishes were diminished, my fine lines started to soften, and I wasn't as oily. For your reference, I have sensitive, oily, and acne prone skin. One session really addressed all my skin issues. Because of this, I actually planned out all my facial sessions within a 6 month time period before my wedding. DO NOT GO HERE FOR MICROBLADING - Unless you want to be semi-permanently disfigured by Azita. This…read morewoman is a contractor and only shows up on Tuesdays. As a contractor, she has no responsibility towards you as a client. You do NOT get a consultation from her because she does not speak or understand English well, or she pretends not to understand you. It took me over 2 years to get up enough courage to get my eyebrows done. I was shown pictures of Azita's work, but now I have to wonder if those pictures were pirated from other sites which perform microblading. I told her specifically what I wanted for my eyebrows, she snapped back that it was what she would be doing. She proceeded to draw an outline of the shape for my eyebrows. My husband told her that they were uneven. So much for her being a make-up artist. She visibly showed her irritation and proceeded to rub at the outline to fix the shape. Eventually, the outline looked okay and she proceeded to cut my brows. Please understand that someone is cutting into your skin with a blade and it hurts. Your brow areas are red and swollen, so it is difficult right after the procedure to determine how well the job was. As a fair and reasonable person, I waited till the recovery period was over before returning to the spa with my complaint. Please see the picture of my eyebrows. It is clear that Azita did not keep within the outline that she had drawn. My right brow is lower than the left, the left brow has an peaked arch while the right brow has an almost flat curve, both brows are thick and patchy. I get strange stares, and friends and family have asked me what happened. I went to other salons to see if they could fix my eyebrows, and all of them told me that I have to wait till they fade before they will touch them. Dory tried to force me to do a second session with Azita to fix her botched work. But seriously ! Would you want someone who has given you uneven, lopsided caterpillars to have another go at messing up your face ! My husband went with me in the morning to ask for a refund. We got some yarn from Atty about how their debit machine cannot process refunds. She said we would have to return at 5 PM when her daughter Dory will be there to process our refund. I specifically asked her to confirm that she will be refunding the full $1,072.09 that was charged to my credit card. Atty responded 'Yes', but she needs Dory to process the refund. We returned promptly at 5 PM to be told by Dory that she will not give us a refund for the microblading because she had to pay Azita, and Azita will not agree to the refund. So, you decide. Do you want to take a chance with this spa and Azita? It will cost you your looks and your money ! UPDATE to address Dory's Response: Dory, you clearly have no shame or dignity. But that was so obvious last night when you ranted at, threatened, and bullied me for one-hour-and-a-half. Yes, it took one-hour-and-a-half of having to be subjected to your nasty behaviour before you finally refunded a portion of my money for facials that I have not taken. Asking if we had been lied to when you overturned your mother's agreement to give us a full refund is not profanity. We were shocked at your abuse when we returned at 5 PM to get our promised full refund. Even now you try to force me to accept that the terrible work done by Azita is acceptable. Please see the picture of my eyebrows. And NO, I did NOT express that I liked my eyebrows after my procedure. I was in pain and tired; I just wanted to go home to recover. But you and Atty loudly proclaimed how great they were. I was red and swollen at the time, so what were you raving about ! This speaks volume as to the level of standards you find acceptable. Why would I accept any other service from you !! Your salon is empty of clients at most of the times I was there. You are not able to process a refund without calling the credit card company. What other business has that problem !! That probably means that you have a poor rating with the credit card company. Please do continue to argue with me. Let the readers see your lack of professionalism.
