I got recommended Matt and Lightning Auto Carriers by a Facebook page at my university, and I'm glad that I decided to work with them. Matt was a pleasure to work with! He was on top of communication, making sure to keep me updated every day the week before shipment. He also responded very quickly to my questions, which was very reassuring and helpful. Vitalie, the driver with spark prime logistics, was also great to work with and very responsive. I will say that you might not hear about having a driver until a few days before your car is scheduled to ship out, but everything from pickup to drop off was on time for me. Lightning Auto Carriers and I had a contract for transporting my car from Verona NJ to Lake Worth, FL at a price of $550.00 on Monday June 28, 2021. On Thursday June 24,2021 they contacted me and let me know that the driver they had was unable to fulfill the contract, but that they would get someone else. I contacted them multiple times to check on the progress. Finally on Monday June 28, 2021 they said that they had someone to transport my car with pick up that day. Only issue was that instead of the contracted $550.00, this was going to cost me $850.00, which we negotiated down to $825.00. They had me over a barrel and I reluctantly agreed because I was leaving town and needed my car and had run out of time. This was bait and switch and was highly unethical. They then responded saying that I changed location of delivery twice and that it was over an hour away. That was an out and out lie. I never changed location, not even once. The story they gave me on 6/24/21 is that their driver's truck broke down and that he would not be able to transport my car. I changed nothing. They preyed on a customer who was in a difficult situation. And then resorted to lying and spinning this to try to keep face. read more

I contacted them after they shipped my friend's car without issue. I "booked" with them May 28 for shipping June 12/13. I hadn't heard anything from them by June 5/6. I then contacted them and was reassured they are working on it. I changed delivery to June 26/27. Today is June 25 and I still have not heard anything about a carrier for my car. I am now scrambling to find a new company to work with and will most certainly get my car shipped later than expected. I do not recommend working with them at all. read more

I'm surprised to see the bad ratings from other customers about Lightning Auto, because I have worked with them 3 times now and I have always been really satisfied. I'd like to share my experience with Lightning Auto to hopefully give them some credit. I've had my car shipped several times across country, and I've found Lightning Auto to have the fairest prices. I've worked with Matt, and maybe since I am a repeat customer I am able to get better prices, but I have been able to name my own price and he finds me a driver who is wiling to take it. Matt is very friendly, timely in his responses, and called me every day with updates. The customer service has been unlike any other company I've worked with. This in and of itself is enough to make me happy, since I have worked with companies before that could literally care less about me or my car. My car has always been picked up and delivered on time, with no damage. They warn you ahead of time that they aren't insured to transport belongings, but let you pack up to 100 lbs of stuff in your trunk. This was key for me, and saved me a lot of money in additional moving expenses. The fact that they are honest about you doing this at your own risk, but give you the option, is nice. Some companies either forbid it altogether or don't tell you that you can't pack anything in the trunk, and then try to charge you at pick up. Lightning Auto was very honest about their policy from the get. Lastly, my price has never changed during the shipment. I've heard stories from others about the price of their transport increasing midway through, which is understandably really frustrating for the customer since you are completely at their mercy. Maybe I have just gotten really lucky repeatedly, but this has never happened to me with Lightning Auto. Everyone has their own experiences, and its unfortunate that others have been dissatisfied with Lightning Auto, because I have had only the best experiences with them. They are so easy to work with and will fight to keep your business by working with you. WORST EVER - ONLY GIVING ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO I spent month researching a carrier to get a car from Colorado to California. I am a single mom with one income and pricing was very important to me. After reading many reviews i went with Lightning Auto Carriers. Brad told me he could get me the car here for 300.. That was perfect. I was in no rush to get the car just needed it by the end of the month. this gave Brad almost 3 weeks. after about week and a half i got a call from brad on a Sunday afternoon telling me the the only people he could find were for $500 plus the $100.00 for him. this is not something i had! i had to come up with the money. I finally said fine and i couldn't wait any longer. I gave brad specific instructions multipal times which he never passed on... I will NEVER recommend this company! read more

We moved back to the States from temporary living overseas and needed to bring our cars stored in our old house to the new destination. Since we flew to the house only for three days to pack we gave Matt a month notice and two days pick up window. The driver showed up on the second day as promised and cars were delivered to our new home within 72 hours. The easiest car transport ever! read more

I personally would not recommend this company. I will say I never shipped my car with them but almost did. There was a miscommunication about when we would receive the DOT # to make sure the truck was insured that would be carrying my car and Matt was very rude about the misunderstanding. Instead of going forward trying to explain it he pretty much just hung up the phone. Terrible customer service. We had every intention on shipping with Matt but once he showed his true colors I was very put off. Ended up going with another company. Also says all the bad reviews are from competing companies but I find that hard to believe. read more

This company does the old "bait and switch." My sales representative was Mr. Brad Carnrite (he might be the owner as well) and gave me a price to move my car. I thought the price was great, but on the day before my pick up Brad sent me text asking would it be possible for me to leave my car at the property I'd just sold. I called Brad, all I got was his voice mail. I called him from another number and he picked, obviously trying to avoid my calls and ignoring my emails. I called a few other carriers and on their national dispatch board, there was my car and the price Lighting Auto Carries was charging me. I had two other auto carries tell me I'd never get my car transported for what Brad quoted and what he was doing was the common "bate and switch." On or after the pickup date no truck arrives and the customer gets desperate to move their car. Carrier says, "well for a higher price since no one is available maybe we can get someone else." Thank God I did not have to put up a deposit ( I put a block on my account), but my contract said Lighting had up to five days from the original pickup date to get my car. Over a week later Brad calls and say they have someone in the area who transport my vehicle. Long story short I found another solution that complicated my move. I work for the military and this is a shameful way to treat veterans, those working for DoD, or anyone else who just wants their car moved at the agreed price and requested pickup date. I will be telling all of my military colleagues and anyone else asking about my move to NOT use Lighting Auto Carries and watch out for Brad Carnrite. read more

Abysmal services. I talked to Matt who was honestly great, however once the car was loaded on the truck he was nowhere to be found. I was then passed on to the driver/dispatcher that promised delivery on three separate days. No heads up, no notice of delivery, no update of the driver's whereabouts, just a call twenty minutes before delivery. He promised everything, including if I had any questions to call him. I have called twice to ask questions and never heard back. They don't answer the three other calls I made. My husband and I were looking to have our car transported, the broker gave my husband two numbers to call one of which was the driver. My husband called to set up a time and the driver didn't speak any english. So he attempted to call the business number 3x and nobody ever answered. They had picked up our car. Do NOT use Lightning Auto Carriers. Lightning Auto Carriers did not fail to miss ANY of the complaints you can ever imagine in shipping your car. Also- if you scroll down, there are reviews under "not recommended" that have negative reviews that are hidden. (1) Always voicemail- Matt Vogel would never ever pick up the phone. I had to leave messages all the time. He claims that he carries his phone and I can call him at 10 PM, but nope, I cannot talk to him for hours during normal business hours. (2) Ship date- Made a reservation to take 2 cars from Boston to LA 1 month prior to pick up date. I followed up 2 weeks prior, then 1 week prior. Matt assured that my car would be picked up on the day promised. The day came (he gave 2 days) and nothing. He still claimed that he's "hopeful" the car can be picked up. Next day, nothing.Next day, nothing again. By 5th day, I am getting really worried and I tried to cancel the contract with Lightning, and now I had to pay higher price with any other brokers since I really needed my cars to be picked up asap. THe worst part wasn't really NOT shipping my car on the date promised, but that I had to chase after Matt. No update, no phone calls- I had to call him and leave him countless messages just to hear back the next day saying he is still working on it. (3) Price- Now Matt calls back claiming the driver is requesting $2,200 instead of $1,900 he quoted me. OK............. how should accept the fact that my cars are still sitting in the parking lot after I flew out to CA, AND now I have to pay $300 more????? Matt said that is because I am sending them urgently. Urgently??? Really?? Then what was he doing one month ago when I made a reservation, then followed up few times prior to shipping date?? (4) Driver did not ask for $2,200 Matt mentioned. Of course not, I knew that. I have documents to prove it, too. Do yourself a favor and never use this company. I understand that some things happen out of control when you do business, but there was no natural disaster, and there was no good reason why I had to pay more to ship my car one week late, and beg them to call me back (by then I flew out of to LA already). My car carrier was J&S Auto Hauler, and you can save broker fee and the hassle of leaving countless messages to Matt and Brad with Lightning. J&S actually picked up my cars then dropped them off in 3 days. 3 days from Boston to LA. Go directly to J&S, and you will save money. _______________________ After I posted the same review on transportreviews.com, the company lied and reported that i was not their client so my review was deleted so i had to provide proof that i was indeed their customer to post my review. Then they put a reply to my review claiming that they charged more because I changed my destination from LA to San Francisco, and it was my fault they could not talk to me because I work until 5 pm LA time. Hmmm. I have never been to SF, I moved to LA - SAME destination I gave them, and I am a stay home mom. They lie every time. This is who they are- serious work ethics issue. Horrible service period. Brad will do the bare minimum to book your transport and handle your transport. He is unprofessional and did not deliver the promised 2 days before or 2 days after of the confirmed pick up date. He quoted me a price of 950 just to find out that it was not accurate by carriers and then ended up pushing the price to 1200. I feel like he quotes low to reel you in and then raises the price to what the carriers ACTUAL will transport the car for.Also be ready to do all the calling and communication because he does not do anything to actually make sure your car gets transported. He also let me know he is the owner and that he was going to charge me regardless because he has 5 days to get a carrier and when I told him it's been past 5 days to contest the unfair charge he got very aggressive and said "do what you gotta do Patrick". Needed to ship my vehicle from CA to PA. I was given a quote and pick up date and was told the deposit would be charged when a driver confirmed to transport my vehicle. The pick up day came and went and I never got any updates unless I called asking for one. Every update was "we're still trying to get a driver". When they finally got back to me with a confirmed driver they told me the cost would be $100 dollars extra and to call the carrier for details. Since I needed my vehicle shipped asap I agreed on the extra cost with the carrier they provided me info for. Now that I had a driver they immediately charged me the deposit. Literally 10 minutes after contacting the carrier, I received a call from the carrier's driver and was told he would not be transporting my vehicle and to call Lightning Auto Carriers back to "figure it out". At this point I have been waiting for days past my quote for a driver through Lightning Auto Carriers so I decided to go with another company. I kindly asked for my deposit back since I did not currently have a driver and I should not have been charged according to what the representative Brad has been telling me the entire time. Brad emailed me back saying that my deposit is non refundable. Fortunately my bank will come to my rescue. This seems to be a classic case of a company giving a quote that is too low for them to actually deliver on. (No drivers are willing to make the drive for the price I was given) I hope this information is helpful to someone in the future. read more

Absolutely awful!! Scheduled my truck to be picked up on Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday. Truck was not picked up until Friday and finally delivered on Saturday. Contacted Linda several times and was told "If you have a problem, you need to contact the owner of the delivery company. Because of their late pick up, I was charged a $25 storage fee per day. Worst vehicle transport service I have ever dealt with. They obviously do not prescreen the carriers they choose. Do not use Lightning Auto Carriers, or the carrier they chose to use..Reliable Auto Transport...both are absolutely horrible to deal with. read more

Marcello, the OWNER of the company, called saying he was on his way and gave us 1 hr notice, even though we had no idea the vehicles were being picked up that day. He called at 3pm out of the blue and said he would pick them up at 4. He was very late (he came at 9:30pm) picking up our vehicles, and then proceeded to get the paperwork mixed up for the 2 vehicles we were shipping for work. Two days later he called my boss saying that there was damage to one of our vehicles, and that he thought it was going to "fall off the truck" while driving through NY. The result was $4300 worth of damage, that he was reluctant to repair. He agreed to pay for part of it out of pocket, but even then it was a hassle because he kept trying to get the cheapest options, and not actually replace with the same quality parts that were damaged. He then tried to bully me about the rest of the damage, saying that it was pre-existing, even though witnesses and photographs from when the vehicle was picked up proved differently. When I told him I'd just file a claim with his insurance, he tried to tell me that the claim would be invalid bc he was in the middle of changing his policy, so there was no way for me to file a claim. THIS IS 100% A SCAM COMPANY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY, OR RISK YOUR VEHICLE BEING DAMAGED. Unfortunately my employer chose this shipping company since our vehicles were being shipped for work, so we didn't get a say in the matter. I signed the agreement for Lightning Auto Carriers to transport a vehicle, when I booked their service and personally spoke with Brad, I told him the need to have the car picked up no later than January 11, which was also documented in writing on the contract. I contacted Brad each week to ensure the car would be picked up by 1/11 and each time he assured me it would be. On Tuesday, 1/9 he called to say the car would be picked up Wednesday or Thursday. On Thursday he failed to answer my calls or return my phone calls, but finally communicated with me through e-mail. As of 10:00 pm Thursday the car still was not picked up. I gave him until 11:00 am Friday to provide a resolution and none was given so I had to use another car transport company to complete the move as this was the drop-dead last date the car would be able to be picked up. After leaving a negative review on Transport Reviews, Brad has attempted to block the review stating I was not a customer. I have provided documentation of our contract and emails. AVOID this company read more
