If you're looking for an affordable town home, THINK AGAIN before buying in this community, located…read moreoff Broadway in Crown Point! That is, unless you prefer a HOA that it totally useless, and live next to rude neighbors, and people who have nothing else better to do than to report residents for petty rule violations. (However they will pick and choose what they want to complain about!) The construction is shoddy, wood rotting, replacing water heaters and appliances, garage doors that are rusting, after only 8 years of being built! I don't want to know what these will look like in 20-30 years!!! And the HOA board will hire companies that do sub par work, and then when the work has to be re-done they want YOU to pay for work that is THEIR responsibility! Their "voting" procedure is a joke, they pretty much tell you that fee assessments passed without providing proof. The property manager is useless, and deflects everything to the board and does absolutely nothing. The budget that they provide has questionable calculations, which makes you wonder where exactly your dues are going. My suggestion...stay in an apartment (you seriously have more freedom there!), and buy a home without an HOA!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I have had over 50 problems with my unit since moving in…read more They rushed me into signing the lease by insisting I had only 72 hours to sign and pay the security deposit. When I moved in, I discovered a filthy house littered with sawdust, construction materials, and muddy floors. There were over 30 issues with the property--evidence of rushed, incomplete construction--yet they insisted on having me move in anyway. Problems ranged from windows that wouldn't fully close or lock, to holes in the ceiling with exposed wiring, leaks in the basement, septic backup and overflow, basement flooding, and more! I was also told by the city that they had multiple code violations here in the past, and that it looked like they didn't make any fixes before moving me in. Just three days after moving in, a pipe burst and flooded the basement with sewage. While maintenance fixed the pipe right away, they left the sewage to dry for four days, which led to a severe respiratory infection for me and eye infections for my dog. It was disgusting and unacceptable that they didn't clean up immediately. One of the maintenance guys that they sent out sexually harassed me. Additional problems/edits: My monthly electric bill at this house is $300 which is INSANE for 1 person. NIPSCO is offering free home energy assessments and PMI denied the request and won't give me a reason. Based on the fact that PMI denied this free & helpful request so adamantly, I imagine the audit will uncover additional problems with the house; I can't think of any other reason as to why this would be denied. If more problems are found, I will be reporting them to the city (again) since they refuse to do things the right way. Situations like this are why landlords get such a bad wrap - a free resource could help the tenant, but they denied it anyways because it MIGHT end up with your team finding additional problems thus spending more money on this house. They don't actually care about the tenant, only the money they make off of them. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY

No matter how desperate you are, do not rent from this company. Through my year of renting with PMI…read moreNWI, I dealt with countless issues and health scares. First, there was a wasp infestation and I had to seal all my windows off with plastic. The company did nothing about this for months, even after picture and video proof. Then, the heat went out in the dead of winter. I was given a mini heater and told to deal with it. After living there for 10 months, I began having severe health issues. My doctor linked them to mold and water contamination. Issues on top of issues for my whole lease, and now I'm told that the apartment was left so dirty that I have to pay $90 on top of them keeping my deposit. I left that apartment much cleaner than I found it. Please, no matter how much you need a place to stay, do not rent from them. It will ruin your physical and mental health.
