From the very beginning, their attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming, which made it hard to fully enjoy what should have been a memorable and positive experience. It provides a unique experience for horse rides on the beach and in the surf at Ocracoke Island, an undeveloped, ocean front, barrier island, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We offer 1 hour guided horseback rides on the beach for $60 per person. We can take up to 5 people at a time. Rides are offered at 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM. We were under the impression/expected that we would be able to split off from the beginner group and ride at a pace we would enjoy. Due to covid the guide said they were only using one guide this year (instead of 2) so we were unable to split off and do any trotting or cantering unfortunately. But it was still an enjoyable experience over all. I would recommend that they consider offering a longer more private ride option in addition to their services! We definitely would have paid more to have a longer ride time at a pace we would have enjoyed more!

If you want something more than that you'll be disappointed. I'm an equestrian and thought being on the beach would be fun. Not! You have to stay at the walk. The horse handed me was their lead horse ergo wanted to be in the lead. The owner kept telling me to not get ahead of her. I circled all the way to the back of the herd. Guess. My horse went into the trot on his own so I posted and got my hand popped. That horse was in tune with me and wanted to stretch his legs on that beach, but that was not allowed. I understand about liability, but I signed a waiver. Every time we got a length ahead she wanted me to stop. My horse knew Whoa! and 3rd position! That horse had never heard "eeeeeaaazzzzy" or just wasn't feeling it. It was just frustrating and boring. It was a waste of $150 plus a $20 tip plus gas to drive to the end of the world. Speaking of, there are NO gas stations. Gas up and pee before you head there. Glad we did.

Had stocked snacks and drinks in case you took late ferry like us, from Ocracoke and needed. They are the whole town! Called and let them know we were arriving on late ferry. Had us set up to roll right in without s hitch, incl giving us WiFi password. No ice machine, but desk gave us 2 free bags next AM. Perfect stay !!

When we ask for another wifi connection, they said there's not another one. Plainly says on the website, " free wifi". Un- usable. Mosquitoes galore. They don't spray often enough. We ask when making a reservation which space we would be in, she said she could tell us for a fee of $25. WTF? Is it a secret? Incompetent staff, amenities suck. Place needs work. Don't forget the bug repellent-you're going to need it around the park and sunscreen for the beach which has the feel of being primitive-it is part of a wildlife preserve-even though the Cedar Island/Ocracoke ferry is right next to the RV park. This is truly an experience that if you don't bring it with you-you won't find it here-I'm talking about grocery stores mainly-there is a dollar general that looks brand new within 20 minutes which is better then an hour to the nearest Walmart. If you're looking to unplug and enjoy the not having nothing to do style-this is your place too!
