Maila is like being in a river, one exercise flowing seamlessly into the other. John has a more studied approach, considering each movement before moving to the next. Classes are small and both instructors are great at providing individual attention and support. Pilates builds strength and improves balance and posture. The machines look daunting but the instructor was super friendly and great at explaining the vocabulary, offering corrections, and pointing out where you should be feeling it. I've never tried another Pilates class that's not on a mat, so I don't know classic from contemporary style, but it offered a well-rounded workout from head to toe. I found the public health practices to be sufficient and the studio was extremely clean.

Pilates is extremely therapeutic and emphasizes the power of mind body connection while lenthening and strengthening the spine and core. Articulation is key and engaging while connecting the muscles is extremely important. With that said - INSTRUCTORS ARE EVERYTHING!!! Only a very small handful of instructors at this studio are what I consider excellent instructors who know what they are doing.
