As a parent, we want our kids to be in a place where they can not only grow in their skills and have healthy safe relationships, but to also be safe and be treated with respect and dignity by their instructor. Having their hearts broken by an adult who was supposed to care for them was just devastating. Others have left this studio for similar reasons. It is my advice, based on our personal experience, that families might want to look elsewhere for a studio with a healthy and warm environment. There are many in the front range area! In response to owner's comments. Yes, it was very sad that my family and others had to leave after such a long time of hard work, loyalty and care for you and your studio. How sad that when families came to you for help and assistance, you chose to turn your back on us, and on the issues we brought to you in good faith. I realize it is good business to respond to reviews like the one I left, but it's such a shame you did not want to deal with the severe issues we brought to you while we were all still there and asking for your help and support. As for the mental health experts you mentioned, this was not what you said to us when we were asking for your help. We did not leave solely because of the draconian policies you introduced, but because of the dismissive and cruel way you treated our family, and the others who chose to leave. We loved you and cared for you in so many ways for years, and when we asked for your help suddenly the love was all gone and you chose instead, to dismiss us and our very serious concerns. I hope you do well in the future personally, but I also hope that other families will read this and approach with caution. Too many young broken hearts at frcba. The problem you had, is still there. The rest of us just chose not to subject our teens to the bullying and negative attitude any longer. It became clear that not only was the emotional and psychological welfare of all dancers not a concern for you, but their physical safety was also not of concern when another parent could use their vehicle to threaten us and risk injuring minors and other parents and you refused to handle the situation in any kind of meaningful way. While everything written here is simply our opinion, based on our experiences, I would want any parent considering bringing their child/ teen to frcba to think twice. As the parents, we chose to stop pouring our energies and finances into a studio where it is clear that not everyone is treated equally or with fairness or justice and perhaps mostly, in our opinion, where it simply isn't safe or healthy.

I did not have a good experience buying ballet shoes at the retail part of this business. Some…read morebackground- I signed up for adult ballet classes, (not at this studio). I heard trying on ballet slippers in person is best to get the right fit. Well, after two ballet classes, and educating myself online I realize my ballet shoes are too big. My experience trying on shoes there felt like the employee either didn't know much about fit and size or she just didn't want to help. I've never tried on ballet shoes. She had me try on different sizes, and I just kept going down a size to what I thought would fit best? I had no guidance from the employee on how ballet shoes are supposed to fit. I asked questions, and hardly got a response. It felt uncomfortable and odd especially because this was my first time. Also there was another employee there that maybe seemed like a manager? I was looking over at her, wondering if she would help the employee who seemed either she didn't know what she was doing or didn't care. My regular shoe size is a 7.5, I ended up going home with size 6C ballet shoes. I found out online after (my ballet classes) that leather ballet shoes can stretch 1/2 a size and that there are different widths for them also. I don't have a wide foot, so I probably should have been fitted with a 5.5B to compensate for my narrower width and room to stretch. I called the store today, told my experience to the woman on the phone who tells me she's the manager. She said unfortunately there was nothing she could do since I wore the ballet shoes to class. I kept saying to her I had no help or guidance from the employee and it was a disappointing experience, going home with the wrong size, without even knowing it's the wrong size until I did my research later! I would expect her employees would at least be knowledgeable and guide customers especially since they're dancers themselves! The manager asked "if there was anything else she could do?" I said if she won't honor an exchange for the right size, I guess not because I didn't want to spend more money on another pair there. Then I did ask if it's possible if I could talk to the owner because I was really not happy with the whole experience... Then she tells me she is the owner! I couldn't believe it. She couldn't make her customer happy by exchanging a pair of $24 ballet shoes for the correct size. Then she kept asking "if there was anything else she could do?" Really?!! Obviously there wasn't anything else she could do besides humor me. I never do reviews, but I've been in retail and customer service for years, so I had to share my bad experience with this owner. Why couldn't she take back my poor fitting shoes and make it right with ones that fit? Very disappointing poor customer service.

There was a skimpy portion of thin and fatty odds and ends of ham, some coagulated super garlicky mashed potatoes with no butter or gravy, and steamed green beans which were flavorless and completely unadorned. The seating was incredibly cramped, and I did not enjoy sharing a table with complete strangers. There was an air conditioning vent blowing directly down onto me, and the wall behind me was filthy with dust bunnies and lint. By the end of the show several people in my general vicinity started displaying signs of irritability due to the tight quarters. The show I saw was A Christmas Story, and while the classic movie translated to the stage better than I thought it would, I felt there were a few elements that should have been excluded - such as the racism in the Chinese restaurant scene, the sexism in just about every scene with women in it, the portrayal of smoking, and the overacting (even for a community theater production where part of the appeal is the campiness) that I honestly don't remember being present in previous shows I have been to. One last thing - if you are going to do a show that features a firearm (even an unloaded BB gun) for f*ck's sake please educate your actors on proper handling. The barrel of anything (even an unloaded BB gun) pointed in my direction is gut twistingly uncomfortable.

The mashed sweet potatoes are heavenly! The dessert was okay; store-bought raspberry cheesecake. The show was pretty good too. There were some missteps in some of the dance numbers (near drop, near fall into orchestra pit), and a couple of wardrobe malfunctions (ripped pants, ripped hemline), but otherwise the show was very enjoyable. Now the question is: are these servers who act, or actors who serve? Because they do both very well!
