    People's choice of SWLa

A gem of a find in Cameron La! This was the only sit down restaurant we could find. Cameron is still suffering the effect of hurricanes Laura and Delta several Yeats ago. This restaurant has a modern vibe and a variety menu ranging from a burger to steak and seafood with a Cajun t Flair. I had the Texas patty melt and it was very good. Others in my party had the chicken fried chicken and they all liked their meal (" nor the best I've ever had but the best in Cameron"). We arrived at the peak of lunch hour so it did take a little while to receive our food. The server was very patient and helpful with us as first time visitors. Kudos to the staff and chef for this wonderful visit!

Food was excellent, Lighthouse old fashion was a surprise, they smoked it. Lighthouse Bend is also the only sit down option in Cameron.

Atmosphere - 5 Service - 5 Food quality - 5 These are the usual elements that I consider and every bit of it was top notch. Appetizer - we ordered the roast bacon and a caprese salad which isn't difficult by any means. Both were very beautifully plated and delicious. Both my wife and I order ribeyes. She ordered the salt service and I ordered garlic butter for mine. Both steaks were ordered medium and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the salt service as it interesting and delicious trying the different salts on the steaks! Our waiter Paul was on the spot, very informative, and very attentive! Overall I'm giving this a 5 star rating. My only drawback is the cost was really really expensive. For what we paid I could have bought a ribeye roll and some expensive wine and we could have eaten ribeyes every night for a week. But that's beside the point. I told my wife that we should spoil ourselves with dining like this at least twice a year. See yall next anniversary!

I've been a long time visitor to the Golden Nugget Lake Charles, usually making at least two trips…read morea year. I was somewhat disappointed this year. The positives: The rooms are always clean. The staff is always friendly. (I've read other reviews complaining of the rudeness of the front desk staff, but I've never experienced anything but professionalism.). The Casino Credit staff is amazing and always so friendly and accommodating. Same with the Casino Hosts; always very nice and professional. There are several good restaurants to choose from and, although they're touristy joints, the food is always good and the waiters are always first-rate. The negatives: Only half of the elevators were working at any one time and those that were working were in bad shape and dirty. And the swimming pool bar staff around the pool absolutely sucks...and they always have. Always. I've never been to that particular bar where the staff was anywhere near professional. Also, they were out of several premium liquor options and none of the frozen drink machines were working. Additionally, when entering the pool area, I asked for an extra towel. I was told that it's "policy" that each person is allowed only one pool towel. I let the attendant know that showed sh*tty service, especially for someone that was spending about $10k in their hotel and casino over two days. Not sure that I'll go back to the Golden Nugget now that the Horseshoe is opened up.

Surely enough as promised, Emily called us to confirm our reservation request. When we arrived, we were notified it would be small wait to guarantee a table was ready (a very short time might I add so it was no trouble at all). While the host was away, at least 3 other staff members, including a chef, stopped to ask us if we needed assistance. As former service industry workers, we were very impressed by the level of hospitality that was consistent and very present throughout our entire dining experience. There was a very thorough support system shown amongst the staff and it was very refreshing to witness. Isaiah was our server and was so wonderful. We were already excited about our evening based on the menu we previewed prior to arrival but his offerings and notes helped to seal the deal. He was not rushing but rather allowing us time to enjoy and take in the beautiful evening together. He was very attentive, friendly and provided some fun humor as well. The softer ambiance of the restaurant was a nice break from the lively atmosphere of the casino. You actually forget where you are and it's a nice spot to be adults for a little while. We will definitely return to try that Brunch menu next time!

This is definitely going on the date night list!…read more The Scene Villa Harlequin gives a more upscale, intimate dining experience - the vibe feels both classic and local at the same time. It's the kind of place you go for a nice dinner, date night, or when you just want to slow down and enjoy a full meal. The Eats We started with drinks - my husband had The Italiano, which was smooth and well-balanced, and I went with a Hedges Family Wine, which paired nicely with dinner. For the meal: My husband had a house salad and the pan-seared fish, which was cooked well and complemented by the kind of rich, flavorful sauces they're known for. I went with the wedge salad and the surf & turf, and listen...this is where they shine. The surf & turf is a standout - steak paired with seafood and a bold, flavorful sauce that leans into that fusion they're known for. Everything came out well-prepared, plated nicely, and felt like a complete dining experience rather than just a quick meal. The Service Service was attentive and polished without being overbearing. Drinks stayed filled, courses came out at a comfortable pace, and the staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. It matched the overall feel of the restaurant - thoughtful and consistent. Parting Thoughts Between the cocktails, the wine, and standout dishes like the surf & turf, it delivers a well-rounded experience. Definitely a solid choice for a nice night out in Lake Charles - and one I'd return to when I'm in the mood for something a little more elevated.
