    Cedar Hill Prep School

    Cedar Hill Prep School

Our family was defrauded by Cedar Hill Prep…read more We were promised small class sizes and first-class facilities. When our child started school, it was apparent that they had repurposed an old storage room, and that the student:teacher ratio was far worse than advertised. When we complained about the state of the classroom, rather than do the right thing and hire additional staff, the school administration expelled our child from the school on zero days' notice, despite having no documented behavioral or academic issues of any kind. During the expulsion meeting, the administration admitted to being unable to hire additional staff and _intentionally_ overbooking the class sizes during registration. The founder of this school is obsessed with metrics. If your child represents a threat to one of those metrics (be it student-teacher ratio, standardized test scores, etc.) then they will absolutely throw your child under the bus to make the school look better. Be warned.

Smaller school means that it has a "family" feel, there is always someone watching over your kids 4. Enough extra curricular activities 5. They have amazing Debate and Robotics Teams and often win championships 6. The fees are relatively low and you see the money utilized for your kids 7. Love the way they do the sports - all kids participate and enjoy 8. Kids love their classes - that is big! you get the drift O yeah - it is a national blue ribbon school - if that helps

My two year old loved the school and so did my wife and I. My daugther loved her teacher Ms Rachel,…read moreshe was great to her and great communication. My daugther was going there for a whole year never cried a single day always looking forward to go to school until last month she was waking up at night crying with nightmares and saying she did not want to go to school and the only thing that changed was the teacher. I dont want to point anyone out but my daugther complained about the new teacher pinching her right leg and that she didnt liked her that she was mean. The only reason that im leaving this review is because the school refused to give me half of my payment that i paid upfront because i took my daugther in the middle of the month, which is something any parent would do if your kid tells you that they got pinched and cried everyday to go into school when they never did before. I called several times and was told that that director will call me back , i have givinv them many chances to send me my partial refund not even asking for the whole refund and i keep getting the run around until today the director told me that i can take legal actions that they do not care. Once again ms Rachel Ms Jennie are the best thank you ladies for everything. This is not against you this is against people incharge that refused to issue me a refund. AND I WILL FILE A POLICE REPORT AND WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION. is not about the money anymore is about principles and its not right that the school refused to refund half the month when the only reason i took my daugther out in the middle of the month was because she kept crying and terrified of walking into the school. It was not a transition thing. Somthing really did happen and i was willing to not make a deal out of it but i have no choice but to write this. I will be filling a civil court suit.

The teachers are really so kind and provide an amazing curriculum for our kids. I can't express how grateful I am and blessed that I have found the perfect school for my two year old. Thank you!

I have waited a long time to actually write this review. But I feel I should definitely leave a…read morereview. I will start off with the good things about Kiddie Academy. Michelle was my sons teacher and was phenomenal. While my son was in her care I had no worries. If Michelle was able to work the entire time my son was at the Academy I'm pretty sure I would not have a negative experience. I have no reservations about my son being in her care. On the other hand when my son was not in her care it was a disaster. My first incident was Haley who no longer works there she was an aid she threw food at my son from across the table. Not once but twice, the second time the food was thrown it bounced off his plate and hit the floor. There was nothing at all noted in her file of the incident. Another issue I had was with the directors daughter who clearly didn't know how to change a diaper, my son had fecal matter all over his private parts and severe diaper rash because she did not know she was supposed to wipe the front of him as well. My son was in so much pain he couldn't even sit down without screaming in agony. The diaper rash incident happened two times by the way. My next incident was my son has a Medical disorder and they were hiring new people constantly and I asked the staff members who were in the room if they were aware of my sons medical condition and neither of them had any idea or knew anything about it. So I brought this to Liz's attention the director and all she did was say oh I'm sorry that's my fault they should've been informed. My response was how many times is my son going to suffer due to the lack of training your staff members have. She didn't have a answer. At that time I knew I had to remove my son because it was a safety issue at that point. So all in all if you attend KA please make sure you watch the cameras extremely closely and don't be afraid to question anything.
