The woman that answered the door had negative, short and defensive energy, immediately. She seemed upset that I was there. Still, I smiled and began asking about her services. She responded sharply and in a hostile manner with the basic rates. I asked, "... and so do you mostly provide Swedish style or Thai or others?" She quipped back, "Just Swedish." As I began to ask if they provide just neck and shoulder services, she moved to the desk, picked up a card and began to escort me to the door. I smiled in a bit of disbelief and asked, "Are you kicking me out." She said, "Yes." I took the card, dropped in on the cement just outside the door and left. To be fair, I do not know the reason for this horrible treatment. But I will say, I am a tenured Professor. I have seven degrees in the social and health sciences. In addition to my primary faculty appointment, I am a Research Scientist at two other Research Universities in the Midwest. At bottom, I specialize in human behavior. And so, while I do not know why the woman so so rude and disrespectful, what I do know is that I am a Black man. If you are a humanitarian, I invite you to avoid this place. They do not appear to be good people.
