An Exceptional Rehabilitation Experience at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Prosper, TX…read more After having my second hip replacement within two months, I knew I needed more than I had received after my first hip replacement. After my first surgery, I was sent home and was basically alone much of the day. I was afraid to move, and although I had home health, I didn't feel like I was getting the support I truly needed. This time, I insisted on going to inpatient rehabilitation, and I chose Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Prosper because of its proximity to my home. I initially assumed I would be there primarily for physical therapy for my hip. Boy, was I mistaken--and I am SO grateful I was! After my initial assessment, the team took the time to look at my entire medical history and understand what I was dealing with--not just my hip replacement. Because I have a history of strokes that has affected my memory and cognition, chronic pain, and several other medical challenges, they developed a comprehensive plan specifically for ME. My days included one hour each of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Group Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling. I was absolutely blown away! They didn't simply see a patient who needed to learn how to walk again. They saw a whole person who needed to regain strength, confidence, independence, cognitive skills, and emotional well-being. And the timing of my rehabilitation made their compassion mean even more to me. My mom passed away just two weeks before I arrived at Encompass, in another state. My dad has postponed my mom's memorial services because he wants me to be well enough to travel home and be there with my family. I was dealing with grief, recovery, pain, and so many emotions all at once. The care and encouragement I received during this difficult season meant more than I can adequately put into words. Every therapist I worked with was amazing. There are so many people I could name, but a few who left a special impression on me were Jill (aka "The Dancing Therapy Girl" ), Sahi, Jamie, Jeffery, Ravina, and so many others. Each one brought something different, but they all shared the same genuine compassion and commitment to helping me get better. The nurses and techs were equally incredible. Elizabeth, Jeremy, Neil, Krista, Tonesha, Alizabeth, and the many others who cared for me made me feel seen, supported, and safe. Honestly, I cannot think of one staff member who provided anything less than exceptional care. You can tell that the people who work at Encompass genuinely love what they do--and, more importantly, they genuinely care about the people entrusted to them. I came to Encompass thinking I was going there to rehab my hip. I left feeling like they helped me rebuild much more than that. They helped me regain confidence in my body, reminded me that I was capable of more than I thought, and gave me hope during a very difficult chapter of my life. Everyone we encountered was friendly and caring with the patients and visitors. The kitchen staff treated my family like special guests; they made an exception on a Sunday and made meals for us to enjoy with my dad during his lunch time, since we were visiting out of state. They made sure we were well taken care of and were so caring with my dad. All of the nurses we encountered were amazing and patient. My dad's speech therapist was reviewed by my stepmom as the BEST therapist that my dad has had in the 15 months that he has been in a hospital environment. You can tell the staff here really cares about the patients, at least the ones I encountered. Walking down the hall with my dad, he was stopped by doctors and nurses that treated him like a celebrity. It was heartwarming to see. I feel like he was really taken care of here.

After researching all the available facilities in the area, we chose Life Care because of the positive reviews on PT and medical care. It wasn't the newest or nicest place, but after visiting it twice, the people seemed to care and it was very clean, so we decided this was for her. The wound care was outstanding, the Dr and wound care nurse were amazing! The physical therapy and occupational therapy were the best I've ever seen. From the nurses, the therapist and the Drs, we definitely made the right choice. She was discharged this past Saturday and she is able to get around the house and I believe she will be independent again soon. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

The facility smells clean and is well-maintained because of those standards. The clean environment is a HUGE PLUS! The therapy itself has also been gold. PT Amy gave me clear, concise printed directions with pictures of prescribed exercises. She is professional, patient, thorough and sweet; I trust her . Her demeanor makes me automatically more comfortable. I had PT Miles last week and found him to be attentive and good at explaining each step. Then, I asked if she could tell me the their physical location since I had already received their address from my insurance company. But, Kastin told me that she didn't know where she was! !?!?!?!?! She told me that she would have to look it up on GOOGLE MAPS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Obviously, Kastin was in a call center located off property somewhere. She was horrible at telling me the exact location of their offices in Plano!!! As a result, I was on the phone with Kastin for over 20 minutes. 20 MINUTES IS THE VERY DEFINTION OF INEFFICIENCY TO SCHEDULE AN APPT! Finally, I asked her, "Can you just transfer me to someone at that location?" "No," was here one-word reply. !?!?!?!?! So, Kastin began asking me questions instead. She had begun the data entry portion of the call. She took all of my pertinent information including insurance policy, etc. Then, she told me that she needed my credit card information. !?!?!?!?! I asked Kastin why she needed my credit card when they could just file my insurance upon my first visit there. She said, "We need a credit card to hold your reservation." I explained, "You're NOT a hotel holding a reservation." She said, "Well, you can bring us a personal check in the amount of $40 BEFORE your appointment." BOGUS! SCAM! Of course, they'd like to have forty dollars of my money BEFORE I show up for my first appointment. I tried to get her to explain to me whether I could get my $40 reservation money back after my first appointment. Kastin refused to answer that question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked her for the name of her manager. Trevor Soper. I asked to speak with Trevor. Kastin put me on hold b/c eternal holding patterns over twenty minutes is their specialty. AND THEN SHE DISCONNECTED THE CALL! So, I called back. This time, Sofia answered the phone. I asked Sofia for her manager. She said, "You mean the director?" (incompetence) I said, "Yeah...whatever you guys call the person in charge. Trevor came on the line. As it turns out, Trevor IS NOT an office manager or supervisor or a director!!! He's just one of the physical therapists! I tried to tell Trevor about the unusually long hold time that was approx 30 minutes. He said, "I don't care." Trevor refused to listen! There are thousands of physical therapy offices in the metroplex. If you don't want to hold your appointment time with a $40 reservation fee that may or may not be reimbursed, I suggest you call someone else. Ridiculous 20-minute call time duration, employees who don't know where they are located & have to refer to Google Maps, and ridiculous hotel reservations with your credit card info including the security code on the back of your card!!! All of that...just to schedule and hold an appointment. That's unacceptable imho. When I asked my husband Jack to come on the line so he could hear Trevor's nonsense...Trevor refusing al to listen to me...Trevor talking over me...Trevor released the call. !?!?!?!?! Apparently, Trevor was afraid to have a grown man on the line paying attention to the unprofessionalism taking place! Trevor was more than willing to treat the woman on the line as persona non grata. At any rate, Trevor wouldn't allow Jack to inquire about their $40 policy to "hold my reservation." Plus, I don't trust what CLAIR PT may do with all of my private information. Will they sell it? or run my insurance anyway? Who knows. If anything shady happens to my insurance, etc, I know exactly where to begin my search for identity theft. CLAIR PT surely wanted money for nothing as evidenced by their $40 reservation policy. MONEY FOR NOTHING AND ZERO TRANSPARENCY! Any business that wants a credit card and/or personal check as a deposit before they'll see you in their office is a joke!!! Then, when you factor in that they refused to tell me if I could get the $40 deposit back...the whole situation feel like a scam to me!!! DO NOT BOOK A "RESERVATION" WITH CLAIR PT!
