We signed a contract on August 13th with a 50% deposit, but couldn't get a start date until the HOA approved. The HOA approved a few weeks latter and we were given an install date of November 16th. It was going to take that long because we ordered a specialty color (anything other than white) and there was a major back order from the manufacturer. I wasn't happy about it, but I understood and was patient. Just before the 16th of November I got a call saying that they had to cancel because the order still had not arrived. Again, I was disappointed, but things happen that are outside all our controls. On December 1st I got a call saying that they would be out on the 3rd to install. It was a great Christmas gift. They arrived just after 9am and worked until about 4:30 PM. They were awesome. They worked straight through, with no breaks and guys had wonderful personalities. Very easy to talk to and get along with. For the most part I let them alone to do their job. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. There were some mishaps with busted irrigation pipes, but I realize that is the nature of the beast if you aren't sure where/how they are running. NO PROBLEM! They were prepared for these instances and repaired them without any problem. When they finished, they cleaned up after themselves and explained warranty and maintenance instructions. Customer service from start to finish was terrific and the saying is right...good things come to those who wait.

This is the poorest communication I have ever had with a business... cancelled twice on same day…read morewithout notice. Took 50% up front, charged more to cc than authorized. Will not ever return a phone call. Project still not scheduled. It is amazing a company so poorly run is still in business. I am beside myself at the lack of concern for both customer and reputation.. Clearly a second generation company that doesn't understand or appreciate what is necessary to be successful.

Before any materials were ordered or work began, we submitted the required application to our HOA for approval. Unfortunately, the HOA denied the request and would only approve a black metal fence. As soon as I received the denial, I contacted Fence Mall and explained the situation. Since I specifically wanted a vinyl fence, I decided not to move forward with the project and requested my deposit back. They agreed to refund it, but told me they would keep 35% of my deposit as a cancellation fee. $600 To my knowledge, no materials had been ordered and no installation work had started because everyone was waiting for the HOA's decision. Despite that, they kept approximately $600 from my deposit. I understand that businesses need cancellation policies, but charging such a large fee before any materials were purchased or work was performed is unfair. I was unable to proceed due to circumstances outside of my control, and I don't believe keeping hundreds of dollars in this situation is reasonable. Specially with todays economy I hope Fence Mall reconsiders how it handles situations like this, because it left me feeling like I paid $600 for absolutely nothing. When you look at my fence from the street you can hardly make out the gates they blend in so good. No cheap slats or post. All set in concrete.
