Had my fence installed today and I could not be happier. It was all I hoped it would be, but it did take a lot longer than expected. I have learned that some things are just worth the wait. We signed a contract on August 13th with a 50% deposit, but couldn't get a start date until the HOA approved. The HOA approved a few weeks latter and we were given an install date of November 16th. It was going to take that long because we ordered a specialty color (anything other than white) and there was a major back order from the manufacturer. I wasn't happy about it, but I understood and was patient. Just before the 16th of November I got a call saying that they had to cancel because the order still had not arrived. Again, I was disappointed, but things happen that are outside all our controls. On December 1st I got a call saying that they would be out on the 3rd to install. It was a great Christmas gift. They arrived just after 9am and worked until about 4:30 PM. They were awesome. They worked straight through, with no breaks and guys had wonderful personalities. Very easy to talk to and get along with. For the most part I let them alone to do their job. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. There were some mishaps with busted irrigation pipes, but I realize that is the nature of the beast if you aren't sure where/how they are running. NO PROBLEM! They were prepared for these instances and repaired them without any problem. When they finished, they cleaned up after themselves and explained warranty and maintenance instructions. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The team is rude and not timely, our account was overcharged and charged to the wrong card and the team has not been helpful. This company owes us the 50% balance that was due upon fence completion. It has been 50-days and counting since the refund was supposed to be adjusted. We call and email daily, and still no response. Buyer beware! Fraud! Failure to refund! My elderly mother (age 82) went under contract with Dave's Fence for a fence installation. Her down payment was double charged, even though full payment was not due until service was rendered. She was promised delivery of a refund multiple times without follow-through, despite numerous calls and email inquiries. When a partial refund check was finally delivered 5 weeks later, it bounced. This is unacceptable so she then requested a cashiers check, which finally was delivered 7 weeks after the initial false charge. The company then failed to deliver product and install the fence at the agreed upon timeline. On the scheduled date of installation, Dave's Fence called to say that the product was not in and tried to coerce her into using a lower price product rather than what she had paid for. She did not agree to this, at which time they offered to cancel the contract, to which she agreed. After 3 additional months, they have still not refunded her initial deposit despite numerous calls, emails, and letters to their main office and vice president Ryan Hippchen. The new fence install was fine and performed in timely manner. However, with the final payment for completion I wrote Dave's Fence a personal check. After checking my Visa credit card I found that the company also processed my credit card as well for same amount. I called 2 times to the company about the double payment/charge and assured that I would get a credit card credit back (which I did not authorize use of credit card for last payment). I did not get the credit back and had my credit card bank do dispute to recover the amount which I got back after almost 2 months. Sad that this did not get resolved by company based on facts. The last storm of last year's hurricane season took down a couple trees which destroyed my board-on-board fence. I called a few businesses and Dave's fence came out on top. From their receptionist(s) to the salesman that came out to measure and give me a quote, to the two man installation team (Adam & Harold) and the price, Dave's Fence was AWESOME! Do not use this company. Our fence was supposed to be pool compliant since this was indicated to the sales person at the time we signed the contract. After a few months I was told that one of the gates did not have the latch at the appropriate distance from the floor to the latch in order to meet the pool safety inspection . When I called Dave;'s fence and asked they correct the problem I was told they needed to charge me for a trip charge. I was not happy about it but I paid it and told them I needed this to be taken care by no later than the following week due to the safety inspection. I was told someone from scheduling would call me. After a few days on not hearing from anyone I called to find out when they were coming and was told it would be another 3-4 weeks. At that point I asked to speak to a manager, I spoke to a Coleen who reiterated that they had no one to come sooner. I asked to cancel the service call since I needed it done soon for the inspection and asked they credit my credit card for the charge. After several days I called back to find out when they were crediting the amount and was told it would take 30 days to credit it. Coleen who I spoke to, was very rude and not customer service oriented at all. I am the kind of person who recommends good vendors to others in our development and as a result many have gotten additional business due to my recommnendation. BEWARE!!!!! Had my fence installed by them in 2025, all went well, then 2/1/26 it needed a small repair and as requested I sent them pictures and got a quote of $125.00 to fix it, on 2/5/26 I got a call as they wanted prepayment.............gave them my credit card and that afternoon got a receipt where they had charged my card $12500.00!!! I immediately called and explained the issue and was assured it would be handled. Called 2/6/26 and got the same "it will be handled" called again on 2/10/26 and received the same answer, then on 2/11/26 they called to schedule the repair...for 3/5/26 and I asked again about the credit card and was told it showed that it should be refunded by 2/13/26 and they were most graciously give me my repair for free. Well two weeks went by and nothing from this "family run" business so I called my credit card company and after jumping thru hoops for them got a provisional credit except for the repair ( which I just paid on the credit card bill) and to this day nothing from them!!!!!!!!!!! You would think one of the owners would have at least called and apologized or art the least acknowledged a mistake (?) was made and their assurance it would be credited...................but NOTHING from them at all. Once they charged my card that money was credited to their account, since they have never issued a credit I wonder where the money is now? There was a paragraph in the contract how they give you x years of warranty, after one year I called them to ask if they could send one of their guys to repair/ replace the lock on my DOUBLE side door. I mention this cuz it's more expensive. So you know my project was close to 10k. The owner told me he wouldn't be managing a business if he was helping everyone who called. I kindly said I wasn't looking for a free repair, simply, I wanted to pay for the repair and he said I should call my insurance. After back and forth he told me his son would call me but he never did. I texted him about three times to remind him and I have yet to hear an answer. It's been about 6 months. Absolute garbage business practices. Talked my elderly and disabled mother into overpaying for a vinyl fence gate that broke within 3 months and now saying that the warranty doesn't cover it. I go to their website to look over said warranty info and magically that page is being updated. I then tried to look up that page on the Wayback Machine and receive a "Fail status code: 498" which typically means a site has opted out of their website being archived. Said fence uses proprietary clips and they now want to charge her $350 to fix 2 slats. On top of that the installers absolutely destroyed one of her irrigation lines and not only didn't fix it, but just buried it and didn't tell us. Now 3 months later her lawn is dying thanks to these people and they refuse to do anything about any of it. Avoid these garbage people unless you want to get taken advantage of. read more

Their communication was terrible. After the hurricane last Fall we tried calling them over and over for some minor repairs and it was a nightmare. I know they were very busy, but not calling us back was ridiculous! Don't even consider Dave's fence. I ordered a standard, tan vinyl privacy fence--nothing custom, not a specialty fence. First, they sent someone out 5 weeks early to locate and mark utilities knowing that we have our lawn cut weekly and the marks would be gone by installation day. I was told they'd send someone out again within a couple days of fence install, but this never occurred. Our fence was scheduled for a Friday install so I took the day off work. Late Thursday they cancelled, said the materials weren't in yet and rescheduled for Monday. I took another day off work and on Monday they came, unloaded everything and began working, then told me they still don't have all the materials needed. They said they were installing tan AND white because they didn't have all the tan needed. This should have been discussed prior to coming and starting the job-I would NEVER have agreed to this!! They assured me the tan will be in and everything will be resolved by Wednesday or Thursday. I'll have to take yet ANOTHER day off work. Well, it's Thursday evening and there's been no call or communication from Dave's. When I called twice, I'm told only the managers know when my tan fence materials will be available but no manager was available either time. I'm now being told they have to submit a "grievance form" to be reviewed and approved by a manager to get the fence I ordered and have a written contract on. Again, they say they'll call me in a day or two once a manager has reviewed this grievance form. In the mean time, I'm stuck with an ugly as sin two tone fence that violated my HOA standards and disgusts myself and my neighbors who also have to look at it! Absolutely unacceptable! Got a fair proposal for a new vinyl fence, they use a very heavy duty and nice looking product, that's why we chose Dave's Fence for our project. Installation started off on the wrong foot with the crews installing an unlevel fence but managed to get the supervisor to visit and get it strightened out. The final result is what was intended and agreed to be. Only other issue was the crews broke a lawn sprinkler behind a bush which isn't a big deal since it's easily fixed but they didn't tell me they broke it so it could be repaired. Obviously the irrigation system wasn't operating correctly and we almost lost a lot of very nice plants, and yes they knew they broke it, they are 3' tall sprigs and they broke one into three pieces. Daves Fence originally installed my fence and did a great job. During the last hurricane my gate was destroyed and I called, paid for the entire job, and was placed on the repair list. The repair was first scheduled for Nov 1 and they did not show up. After several phone calls I now have a repair date of Nov 19. Seems like if they did not show, they should be more accomodating to me-have no idea why I have to wait so long. It is especially frustrating that you have to pay the full amount up front to get them to come to do a repair. I will see if they ever show up. read more

My little pup needed a yard that was fully fenced so he could run around without escaping. Dave and the team came through with an amazing job! After receiving several quotes, they came in with the best price and best quality materials! I will say, the only downside is they give an estimate of about 4-8 weeks which can seem like forever but they called me and we're able to come way sooner than that! Had a fence install $9100 large yard aluminum nice fence looks good. Had on sprinkler head back there they ask us to tell them where it was which we did. They not only cut the line once they cut it twice and when my system came on the line filled with sand. So I got the leak fixed and this is a brand new house two months old but now have to pay an irrigation guy to come and clean out the lines so the heads work. Called Dave's fence they said not their problem I signed a waiver saying they're not responsible. So watch their contract very fine print and she was not very pleasant about it told I'll send a copy where you signed and I just hung up on her. Contacted Dave's Fence for an estimate quite a few months back. They showed up on the date and time we scheduled. One of the few who did. I explained that we were going to put a fence up after our pool construction. They wrote me a couple different quotes with different options. They came out about three months later and installed the fence honoring their old quote. They did a fantastic job and scheduled enough labor to get the job done in a single day. A 6' wood picket field-built fence with a 4' gate on one side and a 10' double gate on the other. All their wood and pickets were good quality, as well as the gate hardware. They got most of the trash up, there were a few plastic fence tabs here and there that probably broke of the staples. There was no wood scraps or refuse left lying around. After all the hype i was expecting 5 star service. Due to my dog climbing the 4 foot chain link I needed a better option. After researching i contact Dave's fence to come out. I have a large lot in Sanford, with several large trees. Yard had existing chain link on three sides and 6 foot vinly where two gates were. Despite questioning if they could make the fence work with my large ac unit the concrete pad under it and the tree's i was assured there would be no issue. I paid for the 400$ survey and they came back out and assured me again that there would be no issue. Signed the paperwork, gave them 4K and "Someone will call you in a week to 10 days to get you scheduled". No one called when I called the office I was told, " the paperwork says 4-6 weeks so not 7-10 days so basically sit and wait....... The paperwork said someone would call in 7-10 days...... oh well. Get a call on Friday------ We want to come Monday to install your fence, confirmed I was taking down the necessary fence ...... At the time of signing for the job I was told if I didn't there was a 500$ fee added, and they would not be able to install the fence. No problem i'll take a day off save myself some money. Day of they show up, I have most of the fence down, sub-contractor tells me its a 2 day job, (would have been nice to know since I have dogs and now no fence. I tell him I have concerns about the one fence line but they assured me that it will work. As for the Subcontractor "Calab he worked his but off and was respectful and courteous and gets 5 stars in my book. As Calab go set up i continued to remove the old fence that was to be in the way. Due to tree roots and concrete I spent 3-4 hours digging out, cutting and cussing at three posts from the old fence on the side where I had concerns. End of day the sub tells me he looked at it and its going to be close, if there are problems, he will call me. The next day I get a call and the field supervisor guy from Dave's is there. Basically, I was sold a job that could not be done as planned. They need to adjust it back and will adjust my final invoice. The tree will die most likely and even after that not sure if they could get the post in the ground. Basically, the half of day off work I took to remove the posts was a complete waste. Basically, what I learned was sales guys don't have alot of actual install experience so they didn't know that they would have to cut the roots out of a 200-year-old tree to make it work.......... I believe that's why i asked multiple times, but i'm not an expert just a guy with common sense and life experience. Job is done, today I get a text to call and make payment on the remaining half...... call to make payment and get told that they are taking off 220$ which was basically the material that they got to take back and use on another job......... my time was apparently worth nothing, was I expecting the job for free know but some other type of good will for the bill of goods I was sold would have been nice. The fact that there employee sold a job that wasn't doable although guaranteeing me it would be no problem...... I believe the term is bait and switch. Just not what I expect when I drop almost 9k. My point, if you can't trust the experts to give you realistic quote and spec a job trust your gut and argue more on the front side. Dave's needs to work on there internal customer service as well as how the make things right with the customer. I will have a hard time recommending Dave's Fence to anyone. I met the sales rep in March and singed paperwork that week. Was told usually 4-6 weeks to install. Also told I would hear from the office within a week. After 2 weeks I called them. I asked about my hoa paperwork and told them the his had not received it. They haven't tried to apply but will do soon they told me at 5 weeks they applied to hoa. It was refused and I had to work through fixing the discrepancy. Then at 8 weeks I was notified they would be here June 3 to install. Now as of today I called to verify. They told me supplier isn't shipping till the 11th. I tried to cancel but they have had my deposit over 9 weeks and said they have 12 to install according to contact and I would not get my money back which is a few thousand. Using my retirement SS, having rescued animals I needed to secure in yard, I hired this company to install over $6,000 white vinyl fencing which ultimately is sagging at bottom rail in about 75% of the rails which can then cause the pickets to sag and blow out of the fence. I tried communicating with customer service which made me prove I was their customer as they couldn't find any of my paperwork. Then Customer Service argued with me that the "ground must have shifted" which is comical as the posts are suppose to be 3' deep and reenforced with concrete and my land is HIGH AND DRY. On another call to them a customer service person LAUGHED when I mentioned the metal re-enforcements and said "there's no metal in them" as if I was saying something stupid to her. Customer Service kept putting me off and rudely over and over as I requested to speak to "Ryan" the owner and general manager. Ryan assured me of the quality and guaranteed it when he sold me the fencing and I recall he said "I'm only a phone call away", yet he WILL NOT call me back and according to his customer service person he WON'T EVER call me back but will communicate via his customer service person by TEXTING. READ WHAT I GOT ONCE HE GOT MY MONEY: This is a QUOTE from the last text I received dated February 11, 2022 from Jorgeanna at Customer Service: "I DO APOLOGIZE, BUT I CANNOT SPEAK ON BEHALF OF HIM (Ryan Hippchen) AND HIS SCHEDULE. TYPICALLY HE WILL REVIEW THE PHOTOS AND INFORMATION SENT, THEN HE WILL HAVE ONE OF THE OFFICE STAFF RELAY THE CORRECTIVE ACTION HE HAS DETERMINED." Obviously I won't be hearing from him as owner and as general manager. Last week a "subcontractor" called me when I was out and said he was at my house (with no appointment) to view the pickets that were blown out but at this point I had to fix them myself. I'm a senior and strained myself having to do this. The fence looks awful with sagging rails and looks of poor cheap quality. On paperwork Ryan wrote that the bottom rails would be reinforced with metal. In the phone conversation with the "subcontractor" he told me "we don't use metal re-enforcements because they cause sagging" - so what am I suppose to believe (SEE COPY OF PAPERWORK IN PHOTO). I greatly regret not doing my homework to understand the quality of vinyl fencing and view the many negative reviews of this company on Yelp. How does a company general manager/owner ignore a senior who trusted his company. I ordered a fence on July 19 and was just notified on Aug 22 that my installation would be on Sept 29. When I told the scheduler that I couldn't hold my landscape work and that they would have plants to work around, her first response was "WE'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE" for any plants that are in our way. Her second response was to blame me for a 4 week's delay because I put in a change order and they had to revise the permits. When I contacted my local building department, they let me know that no one has even applied for a fence permit on my property. Then, the supervisor left a message for me and stated the same thing - the delay is my fault because of the new permit application they'd have to do. THEY HAVEN'T DONE THE FIRST ONE YET. I was a bit put off by the fact that one of their trucks parked in my yard and unloaded building materials in it. The representative showed on time, was very knowledgeable, and give us a reasonable price within an hour of arriving. I contacted this same representative a few days later to change one section of the fence and get a price adjustment. He confirmed my request but never got back in contact with me. The company also sent a follow up email asking how our estimate went, I replied back with how we were waiting on an updated quote and would set up our insulation soon after. We were never called, texted, or emailed back from either the representative or office contact. We had Dave's install a 6' vinyl fence. The contract states in two different places that the posts are 9' post, out 3' into the ground with concrete. During install they must have nicked our sprinkler water line. Not a big deal, quick fix. Turns out, the 9' post that was suppose to be installed is only a 6'4" post. When we asked for them to come take a look. They told us it's hurricane damage and won't come out. read more

I really hate writing this review because Dave himself is a wonderful person! That being said, I think he is no longer part of the office. We have used them on two of our properties over the years with over $40,000 to $50,000 dollars in work one being three acres of fence and one being five acres of board on board wood fence. My wife has called three times over a year trying to get our life time warranty work on rotten post at both locations! Warranty states lifetime posts and gates with all work!
