I had a roof installed in May of last year, and I have rented the place out since I recently moved. Upon my last visit I found a badly sagging (wet) ceiling and a leaking bathroom vent. I immediately sent emails and called them, only to be tossed around for the following month. In that time I was told over and over that someone would be down to look at it, and the first week this happened, when I called to check on when he was coming I was told that he was there the day before and went to the wrong address. I have sent email after email and call after call with no response whatsoever. This "lifetime" roofing company has shown shoddy work, complete lack of competence or care for customer service, no initiation, and no action to resolve their mistake. They went so far as to claim that it was my fault the roof was leaking and that i would be responsible to fix it. Less than a year after its installation! I would not recommend this company to anyone at all. Getting it done was a hassle to begin with, and I wish I would have noticed the red flags earlier. The one redeeming factor is that the receptionist is very nice, and I hope her the best. Terrible company and unfortunately I am forced to consider legal action. read more

Thanks to Martin, who PERSONALLY assured me, 'this was the first time this had EVER HAPPENED TO HIM!' As he walked my house which had been turned into a makeshift 'kiddie pool', I reminded him that I did in fact warn him about the weather turning the day before and I also added that I begged him to 'hurry up' as the massive black clouds began to come in, even his OWN 'CREW' had asked him to please cover the house, all of which was ignored. My house was completely left opened, with the roof ripped off for a full 24 hours! THE.WHOLE.ROOF! When we contacted the 'office' we were 'BLESSED' with the office manager who placed all the blame directly on us, afterall, it was OUR FAULT THE ROOF WASN'T COVERED?! makes COMPLETE sense! We were told by the OWNER that they were licensed in the state of V.a. as well as N.C. at the time they did the work on our house. After I did some research, since I asked the owner personally for his information multiple times as well as his roofers only to be told 'no', I learned they were not licensed in N.C. as they had stated, in fact, N.C. had ZERO record of this contractor period, the same held true with V.A. SUPPOSEDLY we got the 'good crew' yeah, about that, if this is in fact the case, I'm terrified to see what 'the bad one' is capable of! They physically ripped the metal off the roof the house by HOOKING IT TO THEIR PICK UP TRUCK Honestly, I am forced to say, this is by far the most massive sh%t show pretending to be a 'company' I've ever seen, they truly do have their 'hustle' game on and do a GREAT JOB OF FOOLING YOU! They left their dumpster IN MY BACKYARD with a hurricane about to hit saying they refused to move it, only to send out FINALLY a person who had a truck that was unable to handle the load of the dumpster, was not trained to work the truck and at the end of the night I ended up having to stand outside working in the pouring rain trying to help this man who clearly needed help as he didn't even know how to operate a winch, I taught him how to work a truck that he had zero business operating in the first place and I was told he didn't even WORK FOR THE COMPANY RATHER WAS SIMPLY TRYING TO HELP OUT A FRIEND!?‍ Again, unprofessional and completely inappropriate on every single level! The fact that Martin refused take any instructions from me and disrespected me left and right, only to BLOW UP my fiancée's cell phone NONSTOP should have told me on day one that it was going to be a nightmare of epic portions within itself. These guys are a manufacturer of metal roofing like tuff rib and standing seam. as well as steel tube buildings. The installations are done via several subcontractors. Their google reviews are more representative of their actually performance. As I don't know that they monitor Yelp reviews at all. Especially since Yelp uses, in my opinion, extortion tactics to get retailers/businesses to "edit" and "monitor" these reviews. Their pros are the office and sales team are friendly and informative. The sales team is NOT pushy like most sales people. Steel panels and tubing are of high quality (especially over other steel tube contractors) and they stand by their work. Cons are that the quality of install relies directly on which contractor installed. And it may take a lil time to get your issue fixed. With that said I've only ever seen em have a hard time with repairs when the homeowner wants to be a pain. My home came out great. and I've had them do several mobile homes for me as well. Me and my husband are older and decided to go with a metal roof so that it would last our lifetime. Immediately had problems: The snow birds were installed upside down and did not space them out correctly so the whole roof was not covered. The boots around the vents were not installed properly and the nails used did not penetrate the roof. Water dripped from time of installation into our attic crawl space. I am in my 60's and my husband is in his 70's we did not go into the attic until we saw damage on the ceiling. The snow took down all our gutters withing 4 months of the roof being installed due to the snowbirds being put up wrong. We called, we called and we called no one ever came out or even returned our calls, except for once when they said it would cost additional money for them to come out and look at the roof. They would not even meet the insurance adjuster at our home and our insurance claim was denied. Using Lifetime Metal was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made, and it cost us close to 40K to repair the roof and replace boarding destroyed by water damage. They will tell you they are not the same owners, but all my records were there. I have been in touch with other clients of theirs that have had the same or worse problems. To start, I'll give a 2 rating only because of the product and the work crew that actually did the work. If I could rate the office customer service and support, especially redress of issues after installation, I'd give them zero stars if I could. The communication start to finish was horrible, simply scheduling the work was a nightmare. Bottom line is that the agreed upon price included wrap of all exposed wood but the work crew installer said they couldn't wrap the wood at the roofline around the perimeter of the house. I don't blame the installer per se, as this is something that should have been identified by whoever inspected and estimated the job. When I sought either completion of the job or reimbursement of the labor and materials for not doing the wrapping, they were first non-responsive and then when they finally did respond, the blew me off by saying the package included a "standard price" so no refund, we're not coming back to finish the job, have a nice day. Repeated attempts to resolve the issue both directly with LTBS (I'm beginning to think the "BS" stands for something other than "building supply) and via the Better Business Bureau. I really have mixed emotions because the roof itself looks great and the installer crew was very good, but because of the poor management, I'm sure they will be of 0 help if there are any leaks or warranty work required. Very poor customer service.. We had the owner out gave us estimate..didnt really explain anythung.. gave us estimate.. then we're unsure about the color samples colors didn't add up. Anyway girl name Christine called from the office asked if we decided on color. I said we had more questions for the owner. She Saud we handle it from here . So it was like we couldn't talk with him anymore.. Je have us Jo's number and Saud we could call.. so I voiced my concerns and questions. And the discrepancy in the colors then all 8f a sudden christine was avoiding my calls and messages. Left 5 detailed messages fir the owner je never would call us back either. This is a big investment and if they can't answer your questions then somethings wrong... So very poor customer service. Poor communicating.. then finally I called again fir Christine the receptionist finally Saud hold on then come back and said she was in a meeting which was a lie. Saud she said to tell you we dint have the color yal wanted and I said so all 9f a sudden you don't have the color. I'm like that's just a cop out.. very rude. Very disrespectful.. just a cop.out cause they didnt wanna answer out question.. seems like of you question their stuff they just blow you off.. But it's pretty sad when the owner. Won't return your calls.. when he knew we felt disrespected. I left him messages about poor service.. we were not treated fair at all. You just don't blow customers off. Vacarolina buildings promised to remove rot they put up a new roof on top of rot. We have been trying to get them to come out and fix these issues since August this is October. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Buyers beware! read more
