We hired Art the owner of Lifespan Systems to do mold remediation on our house. My doctor who specializes in mold toxicity told me not to re-enter the house until we an ERMI that passed indicating our house was free of mold spores and mycotoxins. I was very sick from mold, so sick I was bedridden. Art knew we relied on ERMI's to test because we told him we were hiring him to get us an ERMI that passed. So after Art treated our house for mold, I waited one month as instructed by my Dr and Biometrics who sell and process ERMI's and I ran an Ermi test. The ERMI showed there was still mold spores in the house and that it was not safe to move into post Arts remediation. Art's response to the failed Ermi test was" I hate those tests, I wish they were never invented." So I asked him what kind of test he used. He said he sniffed the air and if it smelled clean it was free of mold!!! I'm sorry but there's nothing scientific about sniffing the air. Art admitted he hates the Ermi test because it exposes that the way he remediates does not remove mold spores, and he doesn't think it's necessary to remove the spores even though his way of treating them doesn't indicate wether or not the spores are still viable. Art admits in text messages there is no way to tell if they are viable after fogging. And if you breath viable mold spores they can grow in your body. The MarCons test my Dr ran shows mold is growing in my sinus cavity. Furthermore, since Art knew we relied on ERMIS's to test. It would've been nice of him to disclose that his way of treating does not remove the mold spores and will not pass and Ermi test. After my husband and a man that he hired spent 14-ten hour days wiping down the entire house, and EVERYTHING in it, every ceiling, wall, spoon, ball point pen EVERTYTHING we got an ERMI that passed. But's been six months and I cannot re-enter my house because I get very sick from whatever Art sprayed in it. I know the product I sprayed was safe. It's called EC3. We have used it before in an apartment we lived in and we currently fog with it once a month to keep mold spores down. You can stand right in front of the fogger and breath it, it's completely non-toxic. For the past six months, I have asked Art to make it right and refund part of our money since we had to do the work that we paid him to do, and also because our $1 million home is sitting there empty while we rent an apartment, due to the toxic product he fogged with. Furthermore, I recently got bids from other companies that only fog like Art, that don't remove the mold spores. Their bids for a house the size of mine averaged $6000. Art charges exorbitant fees under the guise that he will get rid of mold spores. Wiping down every surface, and every item is very time consuming. That's why we were willing to pay $20,000 to get the mold spores removed. But Art charged $20,000, spent only 2 1/2 days fogging, and didn't remove the mold spores. $20,000 is an unheard of amount of money for 2 1/2 days worth of work. Only a crook would charge that. And prior to doing the work, Art didn't disclose that he does not remove mold spores. I've given Art six months to make it right. I've emailed him, texted him, and more. He always responds by saying he'll make it right. But he has taken no action to fix any of it. One of his responses was "I bought a box fan for you to use to help clean the air and remove spores." Also, all of his text messages brag about how good his work is. That is his response to the fact that my husband and his employee spent 280 hours between the 2 of them doing the job we paid Art 20,000.00 to do due. Box fans don't remove all the spores. The truth is we have purchased 4 Air Dr's at$ 600 each. They've been running in our house for 6 moths. But the air quality is still not healthy and I still get sick when I go in the house. Lifespan is unprofessional and unethical. Art is without conscience. Art took our money, didn't get the job done, and on top of that left me homeless. And his remedy to fix this mess is to brag about what a good job he does. In one of the other 1 star review Art says there is no need to test if you see mold. That is NOT TRUE. See surviving mold.com. If you have Stachybotrys which produces mycotoxins that are so deadly it's used for biochemical warfare, you MUST throw out EVERYTHING THAT IS PORUS OUT. How will you know what kind of mold you have if you only test with the naked eye? You won't! Good thing I ran an ERMI because we had Stachybotrys. Art should know this, but his methods are very primitive. Also, Art mentions in one of his reviews that he does air testing. Top mold experts say air testing is not accurate because the air in buildings in constantly changing. In fact one top mold expert said he did air sampling in a closet full of visible mold as an experiment because he heard it didn't work and the test came back negative. GOOD REMEDIATORS DON'T AIR TEST. read more
