Zack and his team handled getting a plumber, electrician, and everything else needed to make sure it did not happen again. As a fellow contractor in the valley, we pride ourselves on effective, proactive communication with customers and making it look like we were never there in the first place. I seldom find other businesses doing the same. However, Baxter was over the top, keeping me informed and cleaning up everything after themselves as if it never happened.

In short: never hire this company. And if you do, do not pay them in advance, get everything in…read morewriting, and double check every piece of work they do. Do not give them any benefit of the doubt. We hired them in the summer of 2020 following a house fire to remediate fire damage, remove and catalog non-salvageable items for the insurance company, store and clean salvageable items, and repair the fire damage. Once they had our ~$70,000 initial payment (signed over before work even began), there was one issue after another. Overall, they are dishonest, disorganized, expensive, and slow. I could write a book on all the issues, but here are a few of the examples: 1) The contractors were caught rummaging through a locked storage trailer on the property. It was so bad that we had to file a police report. 2) They routinely cut corners to increase their profits. For example, they told us they replaced all windows and interior doors in the house. In actuality, they replaced 4 of 7 windows and 5 of 6 doors. They would have left it that way and charged us for completing all tasks if we didn't catch their error and insist on them fixing it. 3) They are slow. Overall a project that should have taken 3-4 months took 9+ months. This is because they executed every step of this project with zero urgency. For example, it took 4+ weeks to install ~1,000 square feet of flooring. 4) Their project management team is generally horrible. During the life of the project we were assigned 3 different project managers and they cumulatively missed 7 estimated completion dates (so far - we're not done yet) between November 2020 and April 2021. 5) Their disorganization consistently causes delays and frustration. For example, we provided the major design choices (paint colors, cabinet selections, carpet, kitchen flooring, etc.) in September and October of 2020. Months later when they finally started ordering materials, we found out that they had lost all design choices. We had to re-provide every choice because of their terrible record keeping and some of our selections were no longer in stock/available because they waited too long to order them. 6) The non-salvageable items list was clearly incomplete. When we complained about the report they "found" 100+ additional images of non-salvageable items. After reviewing the additional images it was obvious that the report is still incomplete and is missing even large furniture items. They have made no additional effort to resolve this error and it has made our personal property claim with the insurance company difficult to prove. 7) They sent us multiple duplicative invoices for a $12,990.28 bill that had been paid 4+ months earlier. Their explanation for repeating the error was an "internal accounting issue". 8) They over promise and under deliver. When they were vying for our business they misled us about the scope of the work that was included in the project budget. About 6 months after they were hired (and paid), they wanted more money to complete the work they originally promised to include as part of the larger project. Since some of the previously promised work was essential (like having heat in the home...), I asked how much it would cost to complete the additional work. It took almost a month to get a bid and once we received it, it was twice as much as their competitors.

The fire department responded and my eldest turned off the water at the main. My wife googled remediation and Clean Image came up. They arrived on scene before the company referred by insurance arrived. Immediately they cleaned up the water and started to place fans to dry out the rooms. It's been a couple of weeks and everything that was damaged or may have mold was treated or removed. They did an excellent job, outlined and talked about what they were doing, documented everything and when completed provided a completion of remediation document too shows that the work was completed. They really deserve a five star rating.

They worked with my insurance company for months to negotiate repairs from an initial offering from the insurance company of $3500 up to $57K. Repair work Remodeling: 3 stars: They made it sound like repairs could be done quickly. Once I signed the repairs contract repair work was slow. I would never know when workers would be able to work on my house as they made that decision each morning. Some weeks no one would work and other times it would just be a couple times a week. After 7 weeks of work and a small portion of repairs done I asked to terminate my contract. The way the contract is written if you cancel it they can charge you 10% for every item not completed. Plus the overhead and profit for the entire contract. They had only completed $4800 in line items but because of the way the contract was written it came out to around $18K. I was able to negotiate down to 11K with them. Totally recommend for Water Damage Cleanup and working with your insurance but I would recommend you take their repairs estimate which you'll have to pay for and then find a different contractor to do the repair work.
