I was in desperate need of some custom made cookies for a retro 50s themed party that I was throwing for our church at Klairmont Kollections. Everyone was either too expensive or couldnt make the cookies that I really wanted. I found Life's Sweet here on Yelp, and Melissa was a life saver. She was very prompt in replying back with a quote, and every question that I emailed her with she responded back in a timely manner. And she didnt charge any extra fees for using different colors, or for a variety of cookie designs contained in a dozen. I needed 3 dozen sugar cookies of poodle skirts, records, and classic cars and I needed them in a specific color. It was ready on the day that I needed them by and it was easy to pay her through Paypal. She was even able to bag up the cookies individually and add customized labels to them (for a small fee) which saved me so much time and energy. The cookies came out great and the colors were vibrant. If I had to critique them, my only critique was on the cookie that was supposed to look like a car. Instead of a car designed with the usualy frosting, it was "printed" on fondant? paper (edible of course). Not as cute and catchy as a hand designed one, but it worked. The cookies tasted okay, not the best sugar cookies that I've ever had, but they were cute enough to eat. Everyone loved them at the event. Life SURELY is sweet! I am new to the area and I always pass by this cute spot on a dog walk. This particular day, I so happened to make a stop to check them out. I am glad I did! We absolutely loved this bakery! All the goodies tasted great, were perfectly sweet and soft. My personal favorites were the cake pops, birthday cake cupcake, and iced latte. The cake pops were adorable, as you can see in the picture, and very tasty. They had a nice hard crunchy chocolate coating with a soft and sweet inside. My son's birthday is coming up (12/28), so on Nov 28, I sent a request on their website for a custom cake on Sunday 12/26. On their website, it said to give at least 2 weeks notice and they should respond after 48 hours. I didn't hear back on day 3, so I called the shop and talked to a gentleman who initially had trouble looking for my request but finally found it. He said they they closed on that day but he'd talk to someone and get back to me. No one ever got back to me so day 6, I called back to the shop and talked to Melissa, who confirmed they were closed Sunday 12/26 and they were all booked up on 12/22-12/23 due to holidays. I told her I could pick it up Monday 12/27 but I worked 8:30-530pm and it takes me an hour to get to/from work. She said that would not be a problem because she would accommodate, and that I could come as early as 730am or as late as 630pm (she was aware my work hour and I could either pick up 730 or 6:30 because it takes 1 hour for me to get to work). She said she would reply to my request with the earliest time and latest time I could pick up and a quote. However, she only replied with a quote. I didn't reply back right away because I honestly thought she would reply with the times I could pick it up but then after a couple of days, I realized she might have forgot so I replied to her email that I'm interested in book but I was still waiting for the times I could pick up. She then replied to me and said since it took me too long to respond so she had to get back to me later if she was available. I then replied to the email with my frustration and she quickly called me back. She kept talking and wouldn't let me talk until I asked if I may talk. She accused me of bakery shopping and said this was a last minute request and they were trying to accommodate me. She made it sounded like she was doing me a favor. She said I need to book/pay TODAY and I told her I would book but I need to know the times I could pick it up because I cannot book something and not be able to pick up. She then said earliest was 1pm and latest was 530pm. I said that wasn't what you said before but she insisted that she never said that. She knew the times I work so why would I book something if I cannot pick it up? She then said she would hand the phone over to her general manager to talk but then she HUNG up the phone. Again, she lied. What a great customer service, right? I followed their rules on the website--gave them more than 2 weeks notice, and even switched my days around. I even called twice because they didn't reply to me. They couldn't make my cake on the day I initially requested so I was trying to be accommodating. I tried to be very patient but anyone would lost their patience. And to be treated like that, I would not recommend this place. read more

I also took home a cannoli, unfortunately the worst cannoli I have ever eaten. The pastry was soft, not firm, and had no crunch. Life's Sweet is my go to for incredibly designed custom cookies to bring to my family gatherings. Last year, Melissa made cookies for a family birthday, and all attendees were amazed at the detail of the designs (and they loved the cookies too!) and the variety of images. I asked for cookies with my sister's name, and asked if she could do some gardening motifs, and also, if she could do some YouTube cookies (my sister sends everyone in the family a song with their birthday emails) and she did not disappoint! Last week, I was attending my uncle's memorial service and luncheon and ordered cookies that reflected some of the aspects of his life. I told her what I would like them to say and she designed them meticulously. They were amazing and brought many smiles to many faces of those who loved him.
