It was super easy to do online, so on Saturday morning, all we had to do was get there. We arrived in MDR 15 to 20 minutes before our appointment. Lot 10, which is public pay lot, was literally right next to the shop, so that was super convenient! Check in was super easy and every point of contact we had with staff was excellent. You can tell they know their business and they are happy to give pointers or help out with whatever you need. I asked Tim about the rental price, and he told me it was $30 for the first hour and $20 for each additional hour. I mentioned that the price seemed a little high compared to other beautiful locations where I've rented paddleboards, including Huntington Beach and Newport Beach, but I was still willing to give the place a try. I filled out the required paperwork and shared that I regularly paddleboard and kayak. Instead of responding professionally, Tim became defensive and said, "You try renting a space in LA and tell me if my prices are trash." I never called his prices "trash," so the comment felt unnecessarily rude and confrontational. I brushed it off, even though it immediately left a bad impression. After completing the form and writing down my start time, I stood there waiting to be helped. Tim continued chatting with his friend and completely ignored me for approximately 10 minutes, even though I was standing directly in front of him. At that point, I decided not to move forward with the rental. Between the defensive attitude, disrespectful comment, and lack of customer service, the experience made my decision very clear. I will not be returning or recommending Paddle Method.

The whole experience was so organized, fun, and memorable! We arrived around 10mins before our reservation and everything was set up. Sy gave us the run down, thry even provided waterproof phone bags and waterproof satchel for your stuff, life-jacket, board, paddle and of course instructions, lol! We got to sailing or Paddleboarding and the lake was so nice, everyone else in the water was nice, no bad vibes on the lake. We paddleboarded the lake for a good hour and brought everything back. I had a win. Too because I eventually stood up and actually did it!! Its a work-out and worth every dollar. We will definitely be heading back to the lake and hopefully bring our squad! We called asking about longboards and Tony told us to come in and check out what he has. As soon as we walked in, I felt uncomfortable. He was looking me up and down and it felt he was already assessing my level of ability based on size. When we told Tony we were looking for boards he suggested soft top boards. Not a problem but we told him we had been learning on glass boards and preferred looking at those. He then proceeded to say "Oh! So you're popping up and riding waves? Wow. Not to sound like I'm better than you but most people who learn from non professionals are already doing 5/6 things wrong..." I then immediately walked out. Tony was extremely disrespectful and made my husband and I both uncomfortable. Do not recommend coming in at all. Highly would suggest not coming in if you are a woman of any larger build. Her prices were the best we found (#1) and #2 way more convenient as she was parked right next to the beach (no need to cross PCH or load into your car). And she rented by the hour which was fantastic for us. We have now gone to her twice and will continue to do so. And she is also a super cool person...so that's a bonus.
