The employees here aren't particularly rude per se, but the problem I have is that they are so backed up with overbooked appointments, they might as well just let anyone check in all Willy nilly. Had several people who got checked in despite me and a few others had already waited in line for several minutes.... Basically the employees allowed them to cut in line. Today I was one of the many who had made an appointment and had waited for a WHILE in line..... and then all of the sudden they called for anyone who had an appointment. Fair enough...... UNTIL THEY let someone directly behind me come up and rang them up because they were too busy to realize I also stated I had an appointment too... took me everything I had not to raise my voice and call them out on it because it'll put myself at risk to being kicked out and having to make yet another appointment even though I was clearly in line with a few other people. I am not even in the wrong because I'm 99% sure there's probably a few other people in the waiting room who felt the same way as I did (that the line up and waiting time is all over the place). This specific location does blood tests, urine tests, stool samples and echo (and likely a couple other tests) and quite frankly I find it really unfortunate that they haven't even created a separate lab for those who just needed to pop in and do a quick blood and urine test and just leave. Those whose test could've been done within 5 minutes or less should've been let in first and shooed away right after. This would've EASILY caused the line to move a lot quicker. A giant waste of everyone's time is all I'm saying as quality control was non existent. PS. Disclaimer - I feel this isn't really entirely the fault of the employees (though I do feel they play a part in it), but the problem being the system they have to use just isn't effective. CEO of the company needs to be forced to either build another location here in the north shore that can do the same thing OR create a specific location that only does blood & urine tests for a quick in & out. read more

Yesterday I had to wait for such a long time that I lost track of it. But it was definitely more than an hour past my appointment time. And to get past the service desk waiting time, that was definitely 30 minustes. The problem seems to be NOT ENOUGH STAFF to deal with BOTH appointment patients and walk-in patients. The office staff was good. Now the bad. After many visits to have my blood taken, there has never been a time when my reservation was met in a timely manner. Yesterday's 11:35 appointment was one hour overdue. There was obvious frustration from others in the crowded waiting room and, when one person came in and asked how long he would have to wait, he was told 10-20 minutes. One other person piped up and said, "That's never going to happen." This recent visit was, perhaps, a bit longer than usual, but a pattern has been established. The reservation system at LifeLabs does not allow for sufficient time between patients. The result . . . delays and extended wait times for everyone. read more

Bad service. They make mistakes. My blood works result came back "Specimen received unspun. Test not performed. Patient will be contacted for recall" And they have not yet contacted me after 5 days! read more

Service overall is terrible. It takes ages to be admitted. The test take too long to process. The specialist doesn't get the result 90% of the time. They always send the result to the wrong doctor. read more

This was going to be a perfect visit to the lab ... arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, had my paperwork, had my mask ... Unfortunately, it was not to be. 7:45 Checked in - "please wait". 8:15 Went ask about how long Confirmed address "please wait" 8:30 noticed that my name was not on the board - asked about it. "I have your paperwork here" - "please wait" 8:35 finished blood test within a few minutes and left. Many of the people who had arrived later than me for later appointments had already come and gone. No apology for the delay. No explanation of why this mistake was made. Unacceptable treatment by the staff at the front counter. Will avoid this office in the future. read more

They overbook appointments way too much. They clearly care more about revenue than customer service and either need to hire more staff or cut down on appointment times. Remember: this is a private for-profit business, not a government organization, so don't be fooled that their main goal isn't the bottom line. Be prepared to wait a lengthy time, even with an appointment time (which they require). Avoid if possible!! read more

Lifelabs: Stop! Overbooking! Appointments! Some of the worst traffic management I have ever seen. Prepare to wait a SOLID hour for your appointment; in my experience, 75 minutes is more realistic. When the nurses say they will call your name "shortly" they are . . . quite mistaken. No place to sit: expect to stand in a hot overcrowded hallway until they call your name. Expect to wait to check in, then again in said hallway, then they'll call you up again a moment followed by another long wait, then a nice long wait in the treatment room. Wake up Lifelabs. Organized efficient location with professional staff. As of today I've been to this location three times (and once in kits at another location). Did you know that you can request online results access? On my third lifelab visit I finally was able to get off the smartphone and onto a desktop to register for results info - which next to calling, is the only other way to register. Finally done you can then download the iPhone app and after logging in, can view any lifelab results done from the day you entered onward. I've since asked (and completed paperwork) for all results (the other 4) to show-I've been told it will take some time. Today is Friday and I've been here 30 minutes (the longest ever) and as of this moment there are 10 other people wow busy. read more

Amazing Staff - I went to the lifelabs on marine drive today and it was super busy and possibly understaffed. But the staff who were there are amazing, so kind hardworking and great at their jobs. The option to book online is fantastic; however, when you book online, I assumed that when you checked in, the staff would be aware of this. They are not. In fact, they just put you on their waitlist, if you don't offer the information that you have booked an appointment online. When I questioned the staff about this after waiting for over 40 minutes for my test, they said that there is a sign at the desk to inform the staff that you have an appointment that was booked online. Please put your sign on the desk! It is pointless to have a sign that is below peoples sightlines near their knees. Everyone looks up at the staff, not below the counter. Everyone's time is valuable! I hope that you will consider changing the location of your sign to make it more visible. read more
