I'd been scheduled for this scan by my primary care physician during my annual checkup exam, so I didn't see what Yelp had to say about Florham Park beforehand. Boy was I surprised when I looked online and saw all the 1-Stars and testimonials (!!!) Because of the timing, there was no backing out or way for me to schedule somewhere else. So I went in this morning with some trepidation. Fortunately I had a good patient experience overall. For imaging, I would definitely come back to the Florham Park location again (140 Park Ave Building). Pros: ** Easy to drive there off of Columbia Turnpike. It's close to FDU -Florham. ** Nice campus. It's huge with more than ample parking and even covered parking structures for bad weather ** Imaging department is located as soon as you enter the main entrance doors of 140. It will be to your left. ** The waiting room is nice and they had HGTV playing on the TV ** The woman at Registration was polite, friendly, and informative ** The technician who performed my scan was professional, knowledgeable, and patient with explaining to me what would happen (which I really appreciate) ** The facilities once you enter past the registration area, equipment, and rooms looked good to me. There's a hallway with blue flowers painted on the walls, and on the ceiling above the machine there are images of the sky and flowers (so you can focus on those and relax while you are being x-rayed). Cons: ** So far, none... It's too early for the results and billing didn't happen yet. Hopefully the results will be uploaded to the portal in a timely fashion (in contrast to a fellow Yelper's review from last month). I don't know if that's a Summit Health computer system thing or human error though. We'll see what happens. Again, I would definitely come back to the Florham Park location (140 Park Ave) in the future for imaging services.

Three times I went back to the start and was in a loop. I then went to another call where when I finally got to a voicemail I couldn't leave a message because it said the mailbox was full , this is 3:00 in the afternoon. No number to call a supervisor, nothing. I went to the Clifton, NJ location for an MRI and I had my report by the time I got home which takes 15 minutes. This was at the 150 Park Ave location in Florham Park. Do not get MRI here. Horrible service The woman that did the MRI , Evette was excellent. The follow up horrible.

I was able to get An appointment, the receptionist was super helpful and the wait was within 15 minutes of my appointment even though there were many people in the waiting room. The tech who did my scan asked me questions, explained the process and asked me to wait after to ensure the scan was good and the initial reading didn't show anything concerning. I appreciated that very much. The results were uploaded to MyChart within the hour. Very efficient and nice people. Because I went in within 2 hours of my appointment, the insurance had not approved my test. They waited until the last minute to see If it would be approved and gave me the option to pay out of pocket or reschedule. I didn't have time or want to risk having a problem, so unpaid out of pocket and will working out with my insurance. They were very upfront about it and I liked having the option.

I used to work in healthcare. I know emergency rooms are stressful, unpredictable places. That said, I was put on a bed in the hallway for my entire visit. No room. No curtain. No privacy. No TV. Just me, my migraine, and the hallway. Even the ER at RWJ Somerset gave me my own little curtained-off area with a TV. I never thought I would find myself nostalgically reminiscing about an ER curtain, but here we are. I was given medication through an IV that did help my migraine, but it also made me extremely jittery -- to the point that after I was discharged, I was having a very difficult time functioning normally. Obviously, I understand that medications can have side effects. What bothered me more was how little support I felt I received around it. The interaction with the doctor was also unnecessarily unpleasant. I asked, very politely, "Can I have a head CT?" His response was: "I just said that." Listen. I know patients can be difficult. I know healthcare workers get tired, overwhelmed, and frustrated. I've worked in healthcare myself. But I wasn't yelling, demanding anything, or being disrespectful. I was sick, scared, and asking an innocent question nicely. There was absolutely no reason to speak to me that way. After I got home, the jitteriness was still significant, so I called the ER hoping to ask whether there was anything over-the-counter I could take or whether a prescription could be called in to help with the reaction. No one answered the phone. So, in summary: impressively short wait, hallway accommodations, zero privacy, medication that left me feeling worse in an entirely new and exciting way, a rude interaction with the physician, and then no one available when I called for guidance afterward. Hopefully there won't be a next time. But if there is, I'll be going to Cooperman in Livingston instead. One star for getting me in quickly. I would have preferred to wait a little longer and be treated like a person.

I must say that during this experience with Overlook my mom was treated with the highest level of professionalism, respect, dignity, and compassion. From the ER to the standard in patient rooms to the CCU she was fortunate to have been treated by amazing individuals including Doctors, nurses, aides, meal providers, maintenance, etc. I do have to reference several professionals that had a major impact during my mom's stays which were: Dr Jessie Wilt, one of the best professionals that i ever met in my life, with unlimited knowledge, respect, compassion and really just an amazing human being who truly cares! Nurses; Sidneia, Olivia CCU, Justin CCU, Megan CCU, Rae Mauro, Emily C., Sheryl, Jamell Quiles, Erika and Faith. To these individuals especially and to the entire staff and organization of the Hospital I would like to thank them for everything that they did to make my mom's last days the most comforting possible! The lab downstairs, yikes. It's a zoo most days because every dr sends patients down there at any given time. I would only recommend going with a pre-scheduled app. as early in the day as possible. As for the phlebotomists (people who draw blood) - most are so nice and gentle. 1 in particular was rude and incredibly arrogant last week. I've gotten blood taken maybe 6x here (I'm pregnant) and only recently experienced such unprofessional demeanor. Just a heads up to those with small veins / young children. No one deserves to be spoke to rudely or in- pain. Period. I left with a huge bruise because of her roughness. This specific day I did need to get 4 blood draws, but the pain / bruising was not necessary. I did tell the OBGY office and they were super apologetic. Based on my prior experience I sure hope it was a 1-off experience and I don't run into that young women again because I will absolutely be passing on her drawing any blood from me, ever again and will wait for someone else.

I occasionally have to have a biopsy here that is 4 hours long and I need to be awake for. Basically, they mash my bewbs between two grates while I go in and out of an MRI machine and they drill holes to biopsy where they think there might be something suspicious. As you can imagine, I hate having this done and I'm an absolute f@cking bitch when I check in for the procedure. I must say, they staff is so great, they never once crack by being nasty back!

And when I called back to check they said " oh we don't have anything on record for meds" even though they confirmed they sent it before, then I was given the run around between this location and the aftercare to get my prescription, transfer back and forth daily calls after my visit and I still didn't get my meds. And on top of that I was given the wrong diagnosis. When I followed up with the specialist I found out I had a fracture in my toe and that they said there was nothing wrong. After going for awhile, I noticed my legs were not getting better even though Dr. M said he closed multiple veins. I've since moved to another state where I continued vein treatment. It wasn't until then I noticed significant improvement in my legs. I wouldn't go back to Metro Vein Center again even if I was still in NJ. My opinion is, they are a rip off. They want you to be a permanent patient so they can continue picking your pockets.
