Used towels touching new towels, and service attendant not taking care of it

The bathrooms are disgusting, for the price of this gym it's ridiculous. Also I've seen them on more than one occasion putting trash from the bathrooms in the same containers as the fresh towels. Pure disgusting.

I started coming to this lifetime location this summer because of the pool since the one in chestnut hill does not have one. The pool is great- you can order food there including water melon, soft pretzels, flatbreads, slush, milk, etc. There is an indoor and outdoor pool option, and the outside one has a water slide that is pretty fun. The downside about the pool is that a child always seems to poop in the pool (like 80% of the times I have been) and the pool closes for an hour at least. Additionally, there is an adults only section but it is right next to the water slide where all of the kids are constantly walking through. The yoga classes are great, but there is only one studio so it allows for less yoga classes. In general, the stations and weights and other the space is much bigger than the chestnut hill lifetime. There are basketball courts, pickle ball courts, etc. as well as the spa and cafe. The parking lot is huge and it's easy to park! The locker room isn't as nice as the chestnut hill one, but it is ok overall. The smoothies are also a lot better at chestnut hill in my opinion, but the food at this location is better! I definitely recommend checking it out and having a pool day!

I have to say if you want exclusivity you've come to the right place. For a standard membership of $189.00 a month you are not going to see your typical gym bro yelling and screaming for all eyes to watch. I mean this place has all the bells and whistles like that of a Mercedes Benz AMG. I like to call it BSC dates LA Fitness But LA Fitness marries Equinox. As soon as you walk in your greeted at front desk which to me looks like your booking a room at the Marriott. I mean who ever was the design team did not hold anything back from making a good first impression. So over the on the right of the main lobby you have the Life Spa and to the left you have the Life Cafe. Interestingly enough I've seen this one-stop shop design in World's Gym and Ever Fitness in Somerville but not in a large scale. It makes sense to try to keep things centralized in this immediate gratification world we live in. Why send customers to other merchants when you can have the same services where you exercise? Life Fitness accommodates 3 floors. The first floor as I already mentioned you have your life spa, cafe and locker rooms. The 2nd floor is your main exercise area with exercise machines, free weights, cardio equipment and basketball courts. The 3rd and final floor is your child and education center. I'm assuming the education center is used for new trainees and personal training. There's a group exercise room and a massive open space Astro turf carpet with flip tires, there's boxing section, battle ropes, rowing machines and squat racks. Now I only had a guest pass so I did not get a chance to see every inch of this place but the pictures that I took should give you some idea what to expect. Now I did mention the standard membership is $189.00 a month. There is a junior executive membership for those under the age 29 at $159.00 not sure what that's about but a day pass will cost you $40. Overall it's very well kept and highly maintained. For $189.00 ah, it depends on what you want as a customer. To me you can get almost the same amenities at LA Fitness for a quarter of the cost.

I was a guest with my brother who pays $150 a month for his membership, which does not include Pilates or the pool as those are additional charges. A wide range of parking can be found in this three level fitness center. First level are the sales offices, the cafe, a store and the locker rooms with sauna, spa and jacuzzi. The second floor had all the working machines and free weights. You will find the yoga studio and Pilates class. The third floor is for dead lifts, and circuit training. Great amenities and size.

A couple of months into my workout - one day, during my workout, the general manager approached me…read moreand offered to cancel my gym membership because I dropped my weights during my deadlifting. Before I signed up, I specifically asked three questions: 1) Whether I can do deadlifts; 2) Whether I can drop weights; and 3) Whether I can use chalk. The staff (a young boy) at the front desk answered affirmatively to all three questions, so I joined the gym. Many Planet Fitness type of commercial gyms have noise rules - that was why I asked. Given the explicit initial verbal consent when I signed up, I was furious and felt not welcomed. I argued with the manager and then left immediately without finishing my workout. I came back a second time to get my refund (and btw they refused to refund my annual fee). Now the young boy who signed me up claimed I only asked whether I could do deadlifts. And he claimed that he had warned me multiple times. These were flat out lies. About two week ago (and a couple of months into my training), he asked me to put mats underneath and I complied. That was the only time that we had a discussion about the noise. I pressed for details about those supposed "warnings" and the boy refused to clarify. I've trained at the gym for four months at different hours. Most of the time I saw only teens at the front desk. The general manager claimed he never saw me before that day's incident - thus I realized that the gym never had proper professional management. If the gym decides to hire underaged staff to help, that's perfectly okay. The problem is - if the teens - who lack the professionalism of adult trained staff - decide to handle matters in a teen's way - customers will have limited resort. The manager pointed out that the gym has rules forbidding weight dropping (and I am not disputing their general rules), but the gym also has rules that people must wear their masks at all times, as well as you must put weights back on the rack. But the rules are never enforced. People wander around, or grunt heavily, a lot of them without masks especially the teens. I have been training for a couple of months and I was under the impression that it was a gym managed in - let's say - a quite libertine way. I told him that this club is among the most dysfunctional in terms of weights arrangements (and I have toured more than a dozen gyms in different areas) - every single time I went there there were always some weights on the bars/machines (sometimes only on one side) and I had to put those weights back by myself. Different categories of weights are often stacked together. Also, having three 45lbs plates only on one end of the barbell hanging on a rack without people attending is actually dangerous. When I pointed out these apparent irregularities, the general manager - rather than acknowledging that things could improve - exploded at me. He shouted that it was not feasible to have staff sleeping on the floor all day to observe gym etiquette and enforcing the rules - and he would not stand me "insulting" his gym. So this is an interesting development. But after reading other comments on Yelp now I perfectly understand that I am not the only customer who got shouted at by the general manager. To sum up - the gym is not professionally managed compared to industry peers. The training environment is passable but not among the top tier. There are a lot of teens who train here and teens have different manners. For the mask conscious people - I've been to gyms that stringently enforce mask rules but this is not one of them. People frequently don't disinfect the equipment despite the explicit rules mandating disinfection. The locker rooms are not dirty but they are a bit beaten down (I have only seen the male lockers). Its pricing point ($45) should warrant a better environment but it is not the case. And the last word I heard from them is - you are no longer a customer, bye-bye. Well indeed. That's just the perfect way to treat your customers, even former ones. Congratulations.
