Overall a beautiful facility with very attentive staff! Only knocking a star since I feel the high end professional brand that I was sold at inception shifted to a much more main line "YMCA family focus". While I am all for families working out together and cultivating healthy habits in children, the club has simply become overcrowded with families with small children. Especially now, with families from Ardmore accessing the pools and increased number of swim meets for kids. The quiet and peaceful professional atmosphere that used to be present has changed to a bunch of entitled main line children running around with very little repercussions for behaving in an unsafe or unbecoming manner. If looking for a high end YMCA type place where many kids (certainly there are some nice ones) have "never heard the word no", then this might be a great fit. As a working professional, if looking for a quiet workout, stick strictly to mornings before kids are allowed into the club to avoid mass chaos and really consider if the high costs and frequent changes in policy that alter fees make it worth it. Also, be aware that even in the early mornings, there are some really "entitled super athlete type" men and woman who may or may not give you the stink eye if you infringe about their 2 hr work out in any way! (take their parking spot unknowingly, treadmill, etc.) lol. Unless one has a friend group going at the time of joining, then I have found that the ever-present main line attitude of entitlement only leaves a handful of nice patrons that are willing to share lanes in the pools and courtesy to limit machine time during peak hours is not present. Those looking for more "health minded" over "plastic Barbie type" shallow conversations should stick to evening or morning classes that cater to working professionals. Otherwise, during the day, it is mostly the fitness fanatics or main line moms dragging their newborns, and lamenting about not being a size 2 the day after giving birth...! If those attitudes bother you, then this may not be a good fit. There are nice people, but definitely harder to find than other clubs I have been a member of. Really wish, they would open a pool for main line family members of the Ardmore club in Ardmore and then perhaps another location in Malvern or within 10-20 miles of KOP that has the corporate feel and tailors to adults, corporate memberships and triathlon groups instead of children's swim teams and swim meets. I am all for kids swimming, but there are a lot more opportunities for children to swim than adults in this area. It has just gotten too crowded and chaotic to be able to relax any time after 4 pm-9 pm. It would be a nice and potentially profitable move if lifetime expanded out to Malvern to better cater to the many professionals looking for that "corporate gym feel" with a pool and triathlon groups looking for practice areas and then really specify which clubs are more "high end YMCA", which clubs are more "boutique" (Ardmore) and which are more for working professionals looking to build company partnerships. Then maybe they could shift and eliminate some of the additional fees and extra costs in the fine print that are points of pain for people and ultimately result in cancellation due to frustration and feeling that policies are not transparent. I think that Lifetime KOP could really get back to the beautiful state of the art facility that it was if the following changes were made: Create another club for professionals with a pool in Malvern that tailors to working professionals and triathlete groups and look to add a pool in Ardmore for patrons of the Ardmore club. If expansion is out of scope right now: Re-design the club so that kids are all on one level and move kids academy to first floor. Create 3 locker rooms and have attendants enforce using the right locker room: 2 family on first floor, 1 10-17 Boys and 1 10-17 Girls so other patrons are not slammed with the swim team and then 1 Male and 1 Female for over 18. I really think that restructuring through redesign of the existing location and then expansion of another club with a pool for professionals in the area would really help reduce costs in the long run, reduce cancellation in working professionals who were promised peace and quiet and create a safer environment for families who are members of the KOP club. Until then, I'd really urge working professionals and families looking to join to determine if they are willing to spend the money and devote the time to planning their workouts to avoid crowds, chaos and attitudes. It can be done at this club, but it requires a lot of planning! Thank you! read more

This is one of the best gyms I've been to. It's huge and it' so beautiful. And when I say huge I mean huge. It has three floors and each floor is around as big as two or three apartment rooms. They also have daycare things that have games, small basketball court, and something almost like a playplace from McDonald's. I mostly come here for the basketball courts and sometimes the equipment and I play basketball with my friends here. The staff are very friendly at the desk. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor pools and they even have a mini water park open when it's the summer. Connected to said pools are spacious and clean locker rooms. I would highly recommend this gym. read more

While the gym is very nice with a lot of machines and space I've been pretty disappointed over the last few months. When I joined a year ago, they had a ton of classes in the morning and at night that were included in your membership. Over the last several months they have cut out many of their morning classes other than 6 AM which is too early for me or 8am and later which is too late for me. All the 7 AM classes are paid classes and after spending $240 a month for my husband and myself and my daughter I am not willing to pay another $170 a month for paid classes. Furthermore, I just took my class which I thought was to introduce me to all the machine so that I would be using them safely and other information about the gym which I know is a little late however all it turned out to be was a way to sell me on another monthly fee to join a group which is a way of motivating you to stay on target and then the trainer recommended I take another class three times a week which again, was another $169 a month. I'm not willing to spend more than $140 for my membership that is ridiculous. The bathrooms are not as clean as they could be. All of the stainless steel has 1 million hand marks all over it and looks dirty regardless of what time of day you go. Oh and did I mention they already raised our monthly dues! All in all I feel a bit scammed. Kind of the bait and switch. New club, new members, then start cutting out classes and charge for what should be a basic class during peak hours. Then raise rates. For instance, today- 13 paid classes from 4am-12 noon. 12 classes included in membership and only 3 from 545-8 am. People work for a living!! And I'm not taking a class at 5am!! Might be switching to LA Fitness or elsewhere. read more

We joined in July and we have been completely impressed! The yoga classes, spin classes, kids academy yoga, sports, dodgeball all included in our membership!!! Overall minimal additional fees. The pools, lifeguards and staff have all been excellent. We are so glad to have found a great family gym which has yoga, swimming, spa and smoothie bar all in one place!!! read more

I like this gym, but agree with other posters that it's overrun with screaming children who will run into you if you're not careful. I don't know why parents don't teach their kids how to behave in a public place. But, that being said, the quality of LT Fitness is excellent. I love the state-of-the-art fitness machines, equipment, and group classes. The cafe is nice, but I haven't tried the overpriced food or smoothies. Instead, I took advantage of the deal on free, unlimited ice tea all summer with the purchase of a special cold drink tumbler. I don't use the outdoor or indoor pools, because there seems to frequently be an alert that a kid pooped in it or someone dropped a glass in it. Unfortunately, I have to cancel my membership, because I can't afford the pricey $139 monthly fee anymore. Even people who can afford this price point, have told me they think it's outrageous. Funny, the smaller LT Fitness in Ardmore, without a pool, costs a whopping $179 a month. That's highway robbery if you ask me, and I even tried it out to see what all they hype was about. As others have said, the selling never ends. They are constantly trying to get you to spend more money-whether to buy personal training classes, small group fitness classes, or expensive whey protein. If there is a recession, perhaps LT will scale back on their fees, but for now people who can afford it will join. read more

I didn't even get to visit this gym, and already I can feel a culture that revolves around pressure in their business model. I signed up for a 1-day pass and received an email stating that I must set up a time to meet with the Account Manager, and to pick a time. Since I'm just trying out gyms at the moment and not looking for commitment, I was very clear that I did not have interest in meeting with an Account Manager and I just wanted to lift weights there to use their 'Free Trial' for the day. The reason being that I had not even been to the gym yet! After sending an email that I'd rather not set up an appointment for my 1-day workout (which is weird to begin with), I received a response telling me to 'Have a great day'. read more

Lifetime athletic has the most amazing kid program. It's more like a preschool setting even though it's not officially a school. Care starting as young as three months old which is amazing and unheard of. The staff are wonderful to the kids. I'm sure there's some downsides but but we sure have not experienced that. We love it and we highly recommend it. Especially when Mama's are exhausted! Children over 3 get 3 hours per day of Care Plus the baby date night twice a month for you can drop the kids off for 4 hours and actually go get dinner and a movie Somewhere. The specific sales girl Named Megan Toohey is nothing but pushy, unprofessional, and rude. I have NO idea how someone this nasty can have a job in sales. I have called Lifetime Fitness over five times to remove me from their email and call list and they keep lying saying they removed me and I KEEP getting contacted. This is AWFUL business manners and it explains why the total reviews do not go over 3.5 stars. I know quite a few people who have recently canceled their membership because of poor business manners. Asked the man at the front desk if me and an out-of-town friend could see the facilities. My friend is moving back east and wants to be near a top notch gym. Well, we were told the only way we could see these hallowed grounds was to "sit down" with a sales associate. I asked for a quick tour, was told "no". Asked for a written brochure- "we don't have one". The only way you can get past the front desk to view the place is to submit to a high pressure sales pitch. Our family loves Life Time in KOP. They are warm and welcoming. The kids love it.

Locke rooms and showers are gross... This is usually my favorite part. Shower heads and tiles had a white residue, as if they were never cleaned. Low water pressure. There were WAY too many women in there. This space stunk (smelled like feces), there were no air filters or air freshening. This KOP location was a disappointment. read more

If you're over 50, don't have a chiseled body and want to work out in a friendly low key environment, this is NOT the gym for you. While the equipment and facility itself are amazing, the whole place feels like an enormous nightclub except everyone is dressed in Lululemon or Under Armour! Wherever you are, there is music blaring and trainers shouting out instructions to the point where it's difficult to carry on a conversation. The cost of membership is on the higher end of the scale but I assumed it would be "all inclusive" except for things like pilates. . I decided to give it a try only to find out that the group classes I was interested in carried a $149 monthly fee. If you prefer a very energetic, high intensity, expensive gym then Lifetime is perfect for you. It's not what I'm looking for. read more

It is big and and fancy and new. But there is such a thing as too big. And too loud. And too much up sell. Base membership is on the high side (I paid $120 but I locked in in months before opening). But all the really GOOD cross fit style classes involve another hefty fee. I signed up for an onboarding session two months ago, still waiting to hear from them. The guest policy is very restrictive. I think this gym is good for those looking to meet other singles, and for families with young children. They seem to love the pool. It is always packed. If you are not in one of these categories there is much about this place that will probably frustrate you. Some of the group fitness classes are very good however, just a bit loud and RAH RAH for my tastes. I am trying to quit but of course that involves 30 days notice. read more

My husband and I have been members since day 1. We both signed up when there was only a trailer surrounded by piles of dirt! Kate was our sales rep., she was wonderful, full of knowledge, explained all our questions, not to mention she was the ideal person to represent Life time! When Life Time opened in June of 2107, We were over the moon that we had joined such an amazing place, where we had access to everything, from state of the art equipment to the amazing spa, indoor outdoor pool, the great café. It was one stop feel good place... Well here we are in February of 2019, and Life Time has not been able to keep up with all the promises! We understand its a business at the end of the day, that being said, there is too much emphasis on getting new members, selling paid classes and offering personal trainers. We need some of that energy to be put into cleaner locker rooms & showers, having clean towels available. At times it feels like a college locker room. It is a mess, very obvious no staff member has been in the area for hours! We were told by management that KOP Life Time was "A Family Resort" We would have to say at has become " A Family Day Care", specially the pool area! The second floor has every possible work out equipment you can think of, we do utilize all of it, we are sorry that they do not have much of a cleaning cru. We hope you will listen to your members, and make Life Time an environment for us to want to be part of. Please take a look around, and make some of the changes we recommended. Do not join if you plan to use the yoga studio. Pilates classes are not even included in the $100+ membership. The yoga classes begin with an argument every time and foster the most ridiculous environment. This is because reserved spots are given out to a group of waitlisted people who hang in groups by the door. I can understand giving spots away at the start of class but to do this before the class time begins without telling this rule to anyone is extremely rude. You can reserve a spot a week in advance but if you show up at 9:26 for a 9:30 class, your spot will be gone. There are upset people involved and tired employees and an awkward yoga class to follow. Bad energy all around. I also suggest not using this place because they host hot yoga with a small room of 22 people in 80+ degrees. It's a COVID Petri dish. read more

Pools are nice when they are open but that is pretty spotty. In addition to the big sinkhole closure, they are often closed due to chemical imbalance or some kid taking a dump in the pool. Today it was a clock that fell off the wall and broke into the pool. Oh well, perhaps tomorrow. read more

Exercise should be fun and motivating and THIS gym is all thatThe amenities in it self are a reason I hop in my car and head to the gym. The instructors are helpful and encouraging. I've gone early in the morning and at night peak hours and there is always parking and machines available. The machines on the 2 nd floor are new and exciting to use. The indoor pools have different temperatures warm & cool. Go figure...you can order from your phone a smoothie and have it waiting for you when you leave. I'm spoiled at this gym. This place is a glorified day care center. The person who contacted me about membership was basically a bully, called me so many times I finally said I will call you when I make a decision. She was then so rude she told me obviously you can join another gym. Why I bothered joining was beyond me, huge mistake. The classes were overcrowded, who can come 20 minutes early to get a seat in spin class? There were so many people in one barre class there was barely room to move. Kids running everywhere. Then ...the reason I quit, the Pilates instructor! One lesson that I paid a lot of money for and she could not effectively explain it to me, I had never tried Pilates before.....instead she said I don't know why you aren't getting it. Great instruction, thanks....and I was done...quit and never going back. There are better Gyms....and instructors out there, lots of them! read more

I joined Life Time about a year ago, right after they opened. Granted, I did get a lower rate so I feel it's worth the money. I'm not sure I could say the same if I was paying what they are charging now. But, I mostly joined for yoga since the Yoga Manager is incredible, and I go 3-4 times per week at 6:00 am. The locker rooms are beautiful, but my one complaint is that the showers do not seem to be cleaned frequently enough. Why is there always hair everywhere??? Other than that, I have liked the other classes I have tried, and the equipment is well-maintained and state of the art. I feel pretty happy with Life Time, but I do wish they would step up the locker room cleaning. If I feel this way at 7:00 am, I can't imagine what it's like later in the day. Oh, I also hate the summer guest pass policy. Why not just restrict the pool to members instead of restricting all guests? I would love to bring my husband or sister to a yoga class with me but can't during the summer. read more

I have visited this place for the first time today. Got a visitor's pass to the pool, enjoyed it a lot. When exiting, returned the pass to the guy at the front desk. In less than a minute I decided to come back to the cafe inside, and it turned out I can't re-enter again. I am a member of the King of Prussia, Pa location. I give Lifetime 3.5 stars for the facility. Let's be clear, it is a nice gym with well appointed amenities. Regardless of what others say, it is nice and no one can take that away from them. However, for the monthly cost... 1. the locker rooms and showers should be better maintained. They are not as clean as they should be. 2. Most of the sanitary wipes containers stay empty; You have to walk across to the other side of the floor to find a sanitary wipe to clean the machine you worked out on. And beware because that one may be empty too. They need someone on 'wipe container' duty bad! 3. Overrun with children and their social events. Negatively impacting the members' ability to fully utilize the facilities, which is in complete conflict with the sole purpose of LifeTime's existence. I agree with a previous reviewer who referred to it as the 'LifeTime Child Care Center'...It's horrible. I am a mother of three and I adore children, but this place is overrun with out of control kids all over the place. You will definitely find them all over the gym equipment, especially on the weekends. LifeTime also shuts down the basketball courts to host father-daughter dances, etc. Nice concept but why inconvenience members from using a facility, whose primary purpose is for working out, for such events? If social events are that important to LifeTime, they should construct a separate building on the property to host all them and let people who want to participate pay a separate monthly fee for it. There is a complete difference between a child care center and a gym. The problem is LifeTime does not know the difference...the line has completely blurred. This significantly reduces the experience for me and for this I give them 1 star, bringing my overall rating to 2. read more

Blaring music (on top of music playing through over head speakers), screaming trainer (Felicia's morning classes are the worst/loudest). I'm not sure why they don't do these classes in studio rooms or the basketball courts which are empty at 5:45am. We love Lifetime! We have been going since July and have been nothing but impressed with both the gym, classes and Kids Academy. Yes the sales people are very hard sales but after you sign up you don't deal with them again. The trainers are very friendly and have often helped me or I end advice without pushing for a monthly package etc. Our three kids love the kids academy and they are upset when we leave. The infant room is maxed at 8 kids and there are always at least two people watching them. The older kid room is fun but does get crowded at peak times. We literally couldn't be happier! read more

My son is not the easiest child to have, however they have treated him as family and are dedicated to helping him adjust to coming to the academy. Just joined as a member. The place is totally new (June 2017) so everything is clean and nice. This place brings huge crowds, so it is a bit overwhelming (hence four stars). The staff is very kind to members and strive to please you. They have two full size basketball courts on the second floor, which is a great solution for rainy days. read more
