I have been a member here for years. I gotta say, once you are member here, it's hard to move to another place. The biggest hurdle for a lot of people, even for me in the beginning is the probably the cost. Now, I do agree it is not a cheap membership. There are many of cheaper options out there. If you could afford it, though....this should be your priority over starbucks. Health should be the top priority and while we are all work hard everyday, we sometimes forget we can only enjoy what we have worked hard for if we are in a good health! Never take granted of our health. That being said, cost of membership here would be a great investment only if you use it. I go here 3-5 days a week and my two daughters are also part of their swim team here so between my work out and theirs, we go here almost everyday. It is cost beneficial for our family. To sum up, here is what you get with the investment: 1. Clean gym, clean sauna, clean jacuzzi, clean pool, clean steam room, and clean work out room. No stinky yoga mat here. No smelly, yucky and cloudy pool, steam room or jacuzzi. JR Watson products at the shower: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shaver, etc. You just need to bring YOU. 2. No over crowded group classes where you can actually stretch your feet and arms without punching the peeps standing next to you. No, seriously, I accidentally punched someone before at a kickboxing class (not here). 3. Full variety and well maintained work out equipments. 4. Great AMP (indoor cycling) classes. Also have outdoor group ride on Sunday morning. 5. Small classes of Reformes Pilates (about 6 people - must try! The booty class is also awesome! 7. Clean environment, fun, enjoyable Kids Academy for the younger kids while parents work out. Parents have peace of mind when they drop off their kids and don't have to worry about being sick afterwards. The fact that they enjoy it, is the best part. 8. Family activities offered almost every week. 9. Indoor tennis court (Henderson Location only). We need this in Vegas especially during 100 degees summer! 10. Social activities such as outdoor yoga at the pool, Fall Festival, etc. They often have many creative and fun things to do! 11. Did I mention they have hot yoga? 12. Spa and salon at the location makes it convenient for the members. 13. The Cafe has great specials ($6 smoothies and lunch options) and it's healthy! Overall, I love and appreciate this place! Holy mecca of gyms! This place has everything you need and more. We joined this gym about 2 months ago and I am finally getting a chance to utilize it. Let's just start with the check in process shall we...they make you feel like you are checking into a hotel. Front desk service is impeccable and they don't make you feel like you are walking into a gym. Salon, cafe, childcare, tennis, shopping area is all downstairs. Like I said this place has it all. Pool area is like a day club! Don't get me wrong it's still good for kids but from what I've been told during the summer they open the cafe and bar area outside to give you that all around summer pool relaxing feel without having to spend hundreds of dollars at a beach club. There is enough equipment, new equipment I might add, classes, different workout types and staff that is ready to help. I haven't had a chance to do my orientation yet, which they offer, but the layout and everything that is there is pretty self explanatory. I would recommend downloading their app (I have an iPhone and it works great on there). They have all their classes, events, podcasts, workout videos, etc etc. Very advanced app for a gym! One last thing to mention that I love is all the different events they do (some free some paid) but it really tries to get you involved way more than just your workout. Very disappointed! Use to be a member for 2 years with my family and when Covid thing started we ask to cancel the membership (as kids Accadmy and summer camp were closed) . Mindy was in charge of canceling this Apparently didn't cancel this... when we asked few days to return as family they mention we have a $300 balance. And HERE IS THE DISAPPOINTED PART this club have 0 in customer service and care for the customers- yes 0!! And after talking with corporate office you do understand why.. This place has just gone downhill so much in the past 6 months. The staff is disgruntled which I blame management. In fact if you ask for manager they will not get one which means they are affraid or them. The equipment is dirty and sticky and I never see it getting cleaned. The facility is clean and nicely run, but this still doesn't excuse their practice of memberships, which at unbelievable rates, is still pretty similar to Bally's... If the management would like to cancel their one star review, they can either come and visit me in person, or send a signed a certified letter! BUYER BEWARE!!! Be very careful when signing up as they will tell you anything to get you to join whether it is true or not. My husband and I returned to Lifetime only because my husband wanted a gym membership that he could use any where in the country as he travels for work. We even had the lady who signed us up make sure there was a gym near the places he was traveling to prior to agreeing to signing up. Now my husband is in New York and guess what?!? The membership cannot be used there. And they told him he can only use the gym in Vegas. So basically they lied and said whatever they had to to get the money. When he complained they could care less. Even the Corporate office was like "Oh Well" the basically acted like too bad we don't care. I do not like being lied. I thought I have had the best until, I found my grown woman's Disneyland here at Life Time Fitness. I never want to leave!! This club has it all!! Starting with the fact that it is larger than life!!! Upon check in, check out the staffs vest they are wearing, did you even notice that? Pure perfection. The front desk staff always greets you upon entering the club and exiting the club. To your left you will find a salon/spa that does it all from Hair extensions to colors and cuts and blow out!! How convenient right!!! If you need a message after your workout you can also take part in the many spa services. Located in the center a nice area to just watch a little tv, get caught up on email or take a phone call. To the right, the cafe if need to fuel up before and after your workout the offer organic options at an organic price (lol) as well as they sell protein powders etc.. As you walk further down the hall, you will find the kids corner or day care. Lifetime also a in house chiropractor for all your alignment needs.. outdoor tennis courts, indoor pool and outdoor pool with bottle service, gotta love that cabana life. Yes they also serve food. It's perfect! Inside on the second level, the equipment upstairs is 100% top notch with wide tv screens on almost all equipment. Check out the spin room and the Awesome yoga room! They offer hot yoga as well. This is a gym that I am truly in love with and plan to take advantage of all that it offers. I considered getting a cycling membership and a yoga membership, I now can have it all a life time fitness. End your workout in the changing room! It's a slice of heaven, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room! No need to bring a towel, they even have that taking care of, along with the shower gel, shave gel, razor, tampoons, cotton balls, qtips, lotion, shampoo and condition. So no excuses ladies! Equipment is nice and the grounds are very clean; however, all the times I've went it was very busy and a lot of the staff came off a little unwelcoming each time I needed assistance. Talking to some of the Lifetime Athletic staff reminded me of talking to a clerk at the DMV that's in a bad mood. Each time I needed something the staff members came off like your wasting there time and didn't truly care about there members.(Had about 5 interactions with different staff members during 5AM to around 7AM on weekdays) Every time I checked in up at the front around 5AM I did not feel welcome. I did feel very welcomed the first day when they gave me a tour.(checked in at 8PM) They even called me by my name when I walked in and the experience was very professional. The price of $150 monthly is a good deal for all the amenities you get. Indoor tennis, basketball court, all the latest gym equipment, indoor and outdoor pool, steam room, dry sauna, all the toiletries, and several workout classes! I've had different gym memberships from $10 a month at Fitness 19 and up to $300 a month at Anthem Country Club Fitness & Wellness. I'd say Lifetime Athletic is great if your looking for state of the art equipment, clean facilities, and all the imenities you can ask for. However, if welcoming customer service and having available gym equipment is important to you this may not be the athletic club for you. Even at my $20 a month gym membership the staff smiles and welcomes me into the gym every time. They also don't have 30 people standing in front of the "free-weights" area at 6AM. I'm not a fan of big crowds when I'm working out. I've only used this gym in the mornings. The night shift could be much different. And just to recap this is one of the most beautiful gyms I've been in. However, when I pay $150 a month I expect welcoming service from the staff on duty and available gym equipment. Came In to play basketball. There was a party in the gymnasium or the kids, so we had to wait until 8:30. When they left, they did not clean the floors. I called the front desk and asked for a manager. No manager was available. They said they would get someone to clean right away. Played for two hours and nobody cleaned up. I am a founding member at LT Green Valley, having been a member for several years. The club was amazing in the beginning, but has steadily gone downhill. Over crowded due to subsidized memberships, understaffed due to (what? I'd like to know) and now they are using COVID (and "Corporate") as the excuse for it all...although once COVID restrictions ease, they plan to keep many arbitrary restrictions in place. And if they are understaffed now...just wait until we are at full capacity again! Not enough classes or class space to meet the demand, too many restrictions and limitations on use of facilities, taking away member options and privileges every day to compensate for the poorly managed business. Bottom line is that it has become more and more clear that they only care about incoming capital rather than providing a high level of service for their existing members. I only wish there was a better gym around...any suggestions? read more

I joined the Lifetime, Green Valley about three years ago and overall my experience was pretty good. As time passed by my original sales manager left for his new career and I was devastated until I found Anthony Mosier. I asked him some questions and instantaneously his professionalism put me at ease throughout the process. I just followed his suggestions and every thing worked out as he mentions. I received a 2 week pass to LifeTime, and unfortunately it was not for me. It really depends on what you are looking for. They have an amazing tennis setup, basketball courts, and pools. I specifically go to lift weights to work out. The weight room is surprisingly small and limited in equipment compared to other cheaper gyms. Some of my observations include, they only have a sitting calf machine and no standing. They have only 2 flat benches with no bench bar and 1 adjustable bench. All the other benches are attached to a bench bar. They have no iso lateral leg equipment like the leg extension or curl. Overall, it's very limited. If this is what you are looking for in a gym, you will be disappointed for the price. However, if you are looking to utilize the other amenities like the pool, basketball, tennis courts, then it would be worth your money. Good luck on your fitness journey! read more

The valley is exploding with Pickle Ball courts. Soon, 24 courts will open at Sunset Park. Lifetime has outside tennis courts that are seldom used. Would it be too much trouble to paint pickleball lines on the outside tennis courts? Many places have done this. I live in Southern Highlands and it has always been convenient for me to go to the Summerlin location since my kids school is out towards that way even though the Green Valley location is closer to me. And now that my kids are not in school I've decided to take a few classes in Greenvalley. The instructors there are very nice but it seems more of a beginner level compared to the Summerlin location. Which is good too , I see in the classes sometimes that some people are discouraged because the classes move at such a fast pace that they never take the class again . I'm extremely emotional if I don't feel like I take a class that I feel was hard enough of a workout & that pushes me out of my comfort zone I'm angry and it ruins my day. everything from them remembering who you are to watching your form , pushing you while working beside you, making every class different , giving you informative information on a healthy diet but again most importantly for me it's just more advance , even the people in class are super strong it's even more motivating to me at summerlin. I don't like the layout of Greenvalley personally and the class rooms are put together awkwardly, why would the stereo control for the instructors be at the back of the room and their step is so low there it's not even worth being there, it needs to be way higher. All of these are reasons why I will drive an extra 10 minutes just to go to the Summerlin location. So it takes me 30 minutes just to go work out because I love the layout of the club and instructors so much at Summerlin. I did love P.I.T with Brian , amazing the hardest class I've ever taken but soooooo good!!!!! it's hard for me getting to his class times , I wish he did one on Friday because I can't always make it to green valley on saturdays and my other days I have my workout schedule already . read more

Anybody looking to use the spa for a haircut or manicure be prepared to give up your phone number. They claim it's the only way to process the waiver which is clearly a design to capture personal information. No option to sign a waiver without giving up your phone number. With as many telemarking calls I get on my phone I'm not up for giving the number out and the reason from Lifteime is lame. read more

Still one of the best out there. Ever since gympass.com took over some of the membership, the place went south. My wife and I now hearing people around the parking lot being too loud and aggressive. Some domestic violence and no security around to patrol. This gym used to be classy and elegant not because of the place , the members had a lot to do with it. Now, a new group of members are coming in with this new gympass.com affordable membership and discounts. Yes this place was expensive but the members knew how to act and very professional to each other. Please, don't "ghettoize" this place. The facility is great. They have a ton of different treadmill, biking, elliptical machines. I've been there at different times of the day and have never had an issue with crowding. The various weight machines are great-so many different types to keep muscle memory down. And the free weight and cross fit area are huge!! I love hitting the outside hot tub after the workout and going into the steam room/sauna. Feels like a spa. I would have given 5 stars, but I find it odd that they DON'T have hand sanitizer throughout the facility. They are non-existent, it should be in the treadmill area/wight room and in locker room at a bare minimum. The sanitizing wipes for machines are few and far between and are always dried out. If they added these, I would bump up to 5 stars. read more

I kept getting these promotional flyers in the mail with PERFECT people pictured on them. Perfect facility, perfect gym clothes(probably from Dick's), perfect bodies, and even perfect children being perfectly nutritious. It was a little creepy to me. In my head I just knew this gym had an invasion of the body snatchers and we were all going to be robots by time we got off the cardio machine. I got over my delusions and decided to take a tour. When I walked inside my feelings were confirmed! Employees were looking polished wearing business attire, and talking from their clear plastic earpieces like they were the secret service. I was obviously judging. The girl at the front desk complemented me on my gym pants and had me fill out the usual waiver form. I sat in the cozy lobby while someone was getting a public massage near the offices. Wierd. A very tall, loud, punky Brewster-ish woman named Brooke came out to greet me. Her hair was long, curly, black and streaked blond in the front. She was sooo loud when she started talking and I immediately became annoyed. I couldn't pay attention to anything she was saying because she was so distracting from head to toe and I kept thinking, "Will it be rude to ask for someone else to give me the tour?" As we sat in her office, she went over the pros of being a member. She yelled loudly and spoke so damn quickly about why the gym was, "LIKE, SO TOTALLY AWESOME!!!" and "SO, LIKE, THIS IS ABOUT CHANGING YOUR LIFE, YOU KNOW!!!!" and "IT'S VERY, LIKE, EXCLUSIVE AND THE PLACE TO LIKE, BE!!!!!" all while ripping her chewing gum a new one! She took me around the facility and it was like Willy Wonka opened the gates to his Chocolate Factory! WOW! It was amazing! She started singing, "If you want to view paradise...simply look around and view it!"---just kidding. Haha.... Seriously, the tennis courts were large and spacious! I don't play tennis but why not reserve a court for fun! The exercise equipment was new and state of the art! I've never seen weight machines come with LCD screens that customize your workout! There's in/outdoor olympic size heated pools. It comes with everything EXCEPT Michael Phelps! I could see myself lounging outside in the cabana's during the summers! The (free)yoga and pilates(separate charge) rooms wasn't like your typical gym room. It looked private and super serious. It had the power to even make Brooke whisper while inside. Now that's supremecy! Inside there was even a Spa! Massages, nails, pedicures, laser hair removal, THE WORKS! (separate charge of course) The cafe had some yummy looking food too. Naturally everything was promoted as healthy, gluten-free, or calorie free. I looked around at the type of people at this "exclusive club". They weren't aliens! (I hope) They didn't look perfect at all like the flyers. They looked like everyday people you see at the grocery store. I was beginning to warm up to this place! Even Brooke was starting to grow on me and I liked her! Besides working out, I could see myself lounging on the balcony near the tennis court tables, in the hotel-like lobby, or the cafe READING A BOOK! (I know, I'm a dork) So there was 3 things that completely SOLD me on this gym. 1. The Dry/Steam room: It literally looked like Heaven! This old lady came out and a whif of cloudy white Eucalyptus filled my nose. She was drenched and glowing! (Maybe it WAS Heaven!) Unfortunately there is NO COED sauna. Who wants to look at old naked ladies? 2. The locker room: One word: COMPLEMENTARY. Razors, tampons, shampoo, lotions, blow dryers at every mirror. Everything is sitting in a candy-like jar. I told you, Willy Wonka! Also, you use your membership card to create your own locker access code! (THE JETSONS, right?) 3. The Spa. I'm a DIY mani/pedi girl, but I love any kind of facial maintanance! This isn't a gym, it's a resort! I loved how even though I wasn't a member, so many employees randomly said hello to me as if I was a celebrity. The majority of members appear over 40, which I love. No getting "crunk" at this club! It's so quiet and every machine seems available. I realize as I'm getting older, I like lesser crowds of people. Exclusive is a good word for this place. I plan on being a member soon---because this place is "LIKE, TOTALLY BITCHIN' !!!" DISCLAIMER: I know you're not supposed to take photos in the locker room, but like a news reporter I went undercover with a wig and glasses for my yelpers and took photos when absolutely NO ONE was in the gym. Love love love this gym! I really don't think It's fair for someone to say this gym is excellent and then give it a low star rating because of the price. The price is high (probably the highest in Vegas) but it is (in my opinion) the best facility. You are absolutely getting what you paid for. This place has every single piece of equipment you could ever want in a gym. I do agree that the weight floor is a touch crowded (space wise) but I have never caught an elbow from a fellow member who was lifting next me or anything dramatic like that. Additionally, it is immaculately clean. The staff here are ALWAYS cleaning (all of them...I've even seen the Fitness Manager wiping down treadmills). Speaking of the staff, they are all super friendly. They always ask how you're doing, make eye contact, some of them even greet me by name at this point. Classes are among my favorite part of this gym. So far I have taken Studio Spin, Edge Spin (also in studio but hooked up so you HR is on display for the instructor), Strike! (Kickboxing), and Barbell (similar to but better than LVAC's Body Pump). The instructors are friendly and fun! The childcare center is amazing and beyond compare to any other facility in the Valley. There are lots of kids at this gym (especially on weekends). I have never been in the hot tub with a kid and rarely see them outside of the childcare center. Generally, if I do, they are on their way to one of the many classes offered. However, if the presence and sight of kids bugs you, you may want to pass on a membership. In closing, if all you care about is weights and cardio equipment, then Lifetime probably isn't for you. My experience was that this business was predatory and dishonest related to cancellation. The terms of the agreement as explained to me were different than management later claimed them to be. They've committed to sending a copy of said agreement (that I never received, but still I do not have one. I never was presented an agreement, just a signature pad where I was asked to agree to terms being spoken to me: not kosher. I have been trying to cancel for two months. Today the manager called me and said my membership would not be cancelled without another 30 day period. Other staff has hinted that a written cancellation just might get lost in the mail or the club. If you tell someone they can cancel anytime, you should honor that: To keep billing someone for something after they express repeated desires to cancel is both immoral and fraudulent. I was a member for 6 months but cancelled my membership for a number of reasons. But there we a could of redeeming qualities. I will miss Maria in Pilates, she is very good at what she does and an hour with her feels like minutes. Ryan in PT know what he is doing as well and sessions with him felt like hours of grueling work, so got my monies worth. I found I was trying to quickly finish my workout if I was there past 9 am because I wanted to avoid the families taking over the place, especially on the weekends. They often bring kids through the workout floor to the basketball courts to a play area they have set up. Seriously, the huge facility downstairs isn't enough for them? I don't play basketball but if I did I would be annoyed that my options are cut in half because they have kids club set up on one whole court when they have loads of facilities downstairs for them. They kept the place really clean the first couple of months but now I find I have to wipe each step of the stairclimber because it is so filthy. The lockers never get wiped out so I had to clean them out quite often. The flow of the place is just odd, cool down area feels like grand central station. The free weight area is very congested. They have group classes out on the floor that also take up quite a bit of equipment and if you want to use it at the same time tough luck. The place is a degree above freezing and when you complain they say oh yeah temperature is controlled by corporate nothing we can do. Why don't you try working out on the equipment by the windows where it is warmer was the suggestion. They have a limited selection of group classes, tried spin on Saturday morning and the music in the class next door was so loud you can't even hear yourself think. Then the instructor has to be so obnoxiously loud you are constantly watching the time for the whole thing to be over. If you want to work out between 11p and 5a you have to ring a bell to get in, for $144 a month I expect not to have to wait to be let in. AND the doorbell, the DONG reverberates throughout the facility, loud enough I can hear over my headphones set to max. Kept my other gym membership in case LT didn't work out, gave my 30 day notice. On my final month they contacted me and said we haven't received dues and you haven't responded to numerous attempts to contact you made me feel like a delinquent even though I'm not. I sent them a screenshot of my payment made on the 1st they said oh let me check the system, we do show you current must be a glitch, sorry this is an auto generated list. Nice. There are some nice employees but the pretentious arrogant one's I just couldn't handle anymore, I have no problem affording the membership just don't want to anymore as I just get a negative vibe from this place, not for me, I'm moving on back to my old stomping grounds. read more

You either will hate this gym or love it. I love it. It is more expensive than your average gym but the perks and amenities are well worth it. I used to go to LVAC which switching over was a huge difference. The reasons I love Life Time: 1. The amount of equipment. There are enough machines and free weights even during peak hours (4-7pm Monday-Thursday). There is also a huge functional work out area which I feel like many gyms lack. 2. The amenities. Pools. Jacuzzis and Hot tubs galore (in door, outdoors and in the locker rooms). Steam room. Sauna. There are also complimentary towels, razors, lotion, deodorant and mouth wash which I love. *The complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the showers are a bit harsh so I recommend bringing your own but it is conveniently available for your use if you happen to forget yours.* I love the little finishing touches that they have like the shaving cream, the cotton swabs, cotton balls and hair dryers. Although there is a spa located in the gym, the locker room itself makes me feel like I'm at a spa. My boyfriend also loves the amount of basketball courts that are available. He is part of their basketball league and because it is there and available to me i feel like I should get in to tennis. (too bad I'm not coordinated) 3. The staff. (not the ones at the front desk. they're extremely snobby and never pleasant) The restroom attendants and the ones cleaning the equipment are amazing. Jason is always pleasant. He is always so energetic happy and seems like he loves his job. Life time should make him employee of the year, every year! In general my complaints are that it is a bit "too family" meaning your working out next to 15 year old high school freshmen talking about how drunk they got at so and so's party and who they hooked up with. (I grew up in a little town in Cali, is this normal in Vegas? haha) and the WiFi is horrible!!!! The WiFi here definitely needs a boost. I've had my membership for 5 months and it has been the biggest waste of money along with a seriously frustrating experience when it comes to scheduling trainers, being over charged monthly on my credit card and the level of service is rubbish at best. I wish I had never joined, it has not been worth the money nor the frustration. I really wanted to like LT, raise the level of my fitness experience but it simply never measured up, it pains me to say it but LVAC is actually the better experience. UPDATE! I cancelled my membership over a month ago and this company continues to charge my credit card. Thank goodness for Amex dispute and Merchant Blocking. I like the gym and amenities but this place has turned into more of a day care center than a gym. Kids everywhere! I'm having to dodge and jump over them in the locker room and all through the halls. I wish they had a separate building for day care. It kills the vibe and gets annoying at times. They're always occupying at least one full court on the b ball courts too. The only comfortable time to work out here for me is around midnight now. Kinda crappy for paying $150 a month. I doubt they'll change anything so if you're reading this stop having so many damn kids, they're everywhere! Or if you're looking for a kid free zone to work out in then you better look somewhere else. read more

Dirty gym! This gym is newly opened. It's crowded unless you go in the AM. Great facilities for families. Employees are very nice. My gripe is its starting to get really dirty. Please clean this gym! read more

Wow factor on arrival. Pros - Cafe, Pool, Basketball Cons - Gym floor and vibe I had a tour with Cecilia, I was warned by friends to avoid two other sales members due to incompetency, and cockiness. Strike 1 Strike 2.... Strike 3! What a disappointment. It was like talking to a robot, no matter what I said, she had a prepared presentation and she had to get through it. I told her I wanted to see the facility, and was most interested in joining because my friends play pickup basketball there. Her response: "So you are interested in our basketball program? You're going to love it here, we have a program that will take you from amateur to pro!" Me: No thanks. Just want to play with friends :) Her: Our program will download your stats! Me: huh? what stats? Can I just see the place? The whole tour went like this.... It is amazing that a place of this caliber and price point would have such horrible representation. I am going to try the Summerlin location. Hopefully it will have a better vibe! read more

I won't say that they are predatory, I'll just say that it's way harder to be treated fairly when quitting the club than should be true for an "upscale, exclusive, expensive enterprise. Nice gym, a bit intimidating for those used to "lesser clubs"; nice pools, often busy with a lot of children; relatively clean lockers; not as special as they would like it to be. A nice (nothing special cafe) that is pretty pricey. Some nice free classes but sticker shock is a risk if you prefer a bit of Personal Training or Pilates. Our experience is that most services with come in at about $100/hr. Maybe thats fair but those fees several times a month for a husband and wife can add up pretty quickly, especially factoring in what has to be the most expensive membership rate in town. Be clear, it is all about the money here, money for training, money for food, money for supplements constant hawking of product and service. it goes on and on and if that's OK with you then this is your kind of gym. It was OK with us for a while but I prefer to do business with people who show a bit of respect for long time clients. This club did not show proper consideration when my wife and I were compelled to quit for health reasons after spending thousands. Oh yeah, we were Founding Members, signing up before the doors even opened. Didn't matter. How sad. I may have to pay the $150 partial month fee for a gym I can't use but I probably won't and I can only wonder if it was worth nickel and dimeing me if even one person is swayed by this review. I hope many are. Well, we'll get well and join a health club in a few months but these guys blew it with us. There are too many options around. There is no reason to do business with disrespectful people and a company driven by greed. Look elsewhere, get more respect and get more for your dollar. Update as of April 2016 - This club is incredibly small minded They had the audacity to go to my credit card company after I contested the partial month payment for time when we had already stopped going to the club. They didn't just let it go. They may get paid by Citi but nobody is going to get paid by me. Be careful with these guys who will try so hard to get you in but don't even have the character to respond to negative reviews. My advice, find someplace much cheaper and much friendlier to train. I was suckered in and wowed by all its bells and whistles, but at its core Lifetime Fitness is an upscale, glorified rec center. For the record, I'm a 21 year old full time student at UNLV with a full time job. My prior gym history includes Gold's Gym, LVAC, and a local Crossfit gym. Let's dig in and take it a piece at a time. Café - 2/10 - EVERYTHING is overpriced. The food tastes good for the most part. The shakes, not so much. Every 8$ shake at LT has an LVAC equivalent that tastes better and costs less. The markup on all their resale products is what really irks me. Expect to pay much higher than gas station prices if you forget a bottle of water. Quest bars, kind bars, clif bars, and the like are priced higher than I've ever seen anywhere (even GNC). I'm not expecting wholesale prices, but it's ridiculous to nickel and dime your members on small stuff like this. Locker Rooms - 9/10 - Wonderfully done. Lockers are appropriately sized and the member key/lock system works for me. Great to have disposable razors, q-tips, hair dryers, and quality lotion available. Hot tub and steam room were fantastic. Sauna could be a little hotter. Showers were always clean. the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are all quality products. Body wash did appear a little watered down sometimes. Scale and swimsuit drier always in working order. Pool - 8/10 - Never got around to using the pool as much as I intended, but it was always a pleasant experience when I did. The water was heated nicely, and the water never felt over chlorinated. The downside to the lap pools is how shallow they are. I prefer a deeper pool like the multi-gen. The big outdoor pool extravaganza would be cool if you had kids I suppose. Couldn't see myself ever going there just to hang out. Spin - 5/10 - The room is setup nice. The bikes they have are great because they have a little display on them similar to one you'd find on a concept2 rower. Makes it easier to use the bike outside of a class. Which leads to the big catch 22 of the LT GV spin room. They're totally cool with you going in there and jamming on your own if there's not a class going on, which is pretty much all the time. There's only I'd say an average of two spin classes a day. The spin room is entirely dedicated to spin. Kind of weak on their part that classes are so limited. Group exercise - 7/10 - Rooms are well stocked, clean, and cool (temp). Never got around to participating in any group exercise classes because they aren't really my cup of tea, but went solo in the rooms a few times. Schedule appears to be a bit limited on these as well. Yoga - 8/10 - The yoga studio was a pleasant experience for me. I wish I'd had more time to join in on more classes. The teachers I encountered were knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Everything is provided so you don't need to bring anything if you don't want to (mats, blocks, straps, towels, blankets). Only minor issues I had were some class sizes tended to be a bit too large and forced too tight of quarters for some people. Basketball - 4/10 - One of the initial reasons I signed up here was the basketball courts and basketball program. First impression was great. Courts seemed in good shape and there were plenty of quality balls available. Disappointed to find out that participating in the leagues costs extra. Three reasons for my poor review. 1) Courts hardly available and hardly any worthy pickup games going on. Most of the time all four half-courts are occupied by one-three people shooting around. 2) a lot of horseplay and kids. Annoying. 3) quality of the balls went downhill fast. I assume this is something they will take care of promptly though . Overall, just disappointed that I wasn't able to use or enjoy the courts as much as I thought when I signed up. Cardio area - 8/10 - an abundance of cardio machines. All in great condition. Would prefer a track setup like LVAC. Free weights - 5/10 as mentioned in other reviews, entirely too small relative to the size of the gym and awkwardly placed. They do have a good amount of bench stations for all you walking chests. Never enough clips around for barbells. Plenty of weights in plates. Probably could use a larger dumbbell selection. "Functional zone" - 3/10 - This is where they have the lifting platforms/squat racks, the TRX setups, and all your Crossfit related equipment. The platforms suck, flat out. They're too small for Olympic weightlifting and not hard enough for squats and deadlifts. The pull-up bars on the racks are like cheese graters for your hands. I'm a believer in the Crossfit methodology. Lifetime is getting their feet wet, but afraid to commit to having a reputable setup for crossfitters. Overall, the gym is nice. But not 144$/month nice. At least not for what I'm looking for. And too many little things that just bugged me. Could be perfect for you though. It's worth a shot. If I didn't mention something (tennis, daycare, etc) I never used it. read more
