gorgeous facility...as a stand alone facility, plenty of parking, easy access off of 370. Took a tour, and was impressed with the facility. It seems like a great place for a family, with their "day care" that offers classes for children, as opposed to sitting them in front of a TV. I can see how this place would appeal to a family with younger children. The cafe, right by the entrance was busy, with families eating.The indoor pool was also busy, with lots of children; I think their was a children's class going on? The outside pool looks amazing; I can see how this would be a hit, again with those with children. The slides will certainly be a big hit in the summer...for me...I'd rather go to a gym that is on the quieter side...if this facility was open 15 years ago, I would have joined!!! read more

Love this gym, the class instructors are energetic and challenging, the trainers are really helpful if you have any questions or do one of the 'intro' classes, and i can always get on equipment without a wait. Amenities are typically very clean (locker room, pool, etc). Just wish they offered a class or two in the afternoon, otherwise great! read more

This is a fantastic gym. Service is great and I've had a great experience with the yoga instructors a and the trainers too. Everything you every might need (except tennis?) until 1 roof. Yes. I am so blown away by Life Time Athletic - Gaithersburg! I was a member for a LONG time at the club in Rockville, and have always liked the company. The facilities are always clean, the staff is friendly, and the equipment is top notch. Also, the hours of the club are awesome. I am one of those people who occasionally works out at 11pm or on the weekends at random hours, so not worrying about it being open is really great! This new location in Gaithersburg is unlike anything I have ever experienced. The aquatic center is gorgeous! Two indoor pools, that are spotless, and are both heated (thank goodness) so you don't have to freeze. The kids seem to have a blast during family swim hours with the mushroom running! The fitness floor is my absolute favorite part of the club. They have a Queenax, so that you can do all sorts of balance training. I have even started doing the monkey bars again! It is like a playground for adults! The alpha training area is wonderful too! I had never sprinted on a curved treadmill, but they have it here, so I tried it out. It has been amazing to be able to mix up my workout so much, and be able to experience so much. I REALLY look forward to my workouts here. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful. My husband has started working with a trainer, and has made some amazing progress in just 6 weeks! I have also worked with the group fitness instructors and personal training staff, and they are just amazing! I have been able to work on my running technique, as well as perfecting all of my lifts, and have had incredible experiences in yoga, cycling, and strength training group classes. Also, I frequent the café, and it is yummy. The smoothies are great for a post workout snack, and the meals are delicious as well! Overall, I LOVE it here! It is worth every penny. read more

I was out of town and went APE when I saw my brand right off the slowly crowded and tension building 270 rush hour. But I brought my card, my zumba gear and snuck into Rina's (sp?) class for a magnificent shaky shake your booty class! I was screaming and hollering to the rotten looks of the "we don't know that you should scream in zumba" clients that were pouring sweat. THANK YOU GUYS! I am rating pickleball at lifetime Gaithersburg. It is horrendous. The coordinator and Pickleball is a good player, but does not have no how to coach, except for Diana the court monitors are terrible. When I came to play the other night the night court attendant did not believe that I did not have the proper credentials to play pickleball. Of course I did. It took him 40 minutes to confirm it another time. I asked Will the attendant to play with me he said he could not play while he was working. Then I saw him play with another player Jane the pickleball coordinator brings her friends to the court, and makes paying members wait, when I played I Life Time Gaithersburg, I tried to help the players because I am one of the best coaches in the country, the vast majority appreciate my help because the Pickleball coordinator did not help them. Apparently one or two told the Pickleball coordinator that for some reason they did not want my help and basically asked me to leave whenever the pickleball coordinator sees a player hitting the ball rock. She should tell them how to get it correctly. Unfortunately she's not study physics like I did and there's not know how to tell them correctly, the training staff is also somewhat sketchy. I had a level five trainer training me initially and she was fantastic and then had a young trainer trained me and she was OK and when I tried to schedule another session with her, she ignored me I like the spa there and the people that are members are usually pretty nice. I gave the general manager numerous ideas and he did take a few of them but I think he was basically unhappy that I gave him recommendations. There's not one good pickle ball store in Montgomery county there was one that was OK call TennisTopia, but it was sold and now it is horrendous. I bought a paddle there for $200 and brought it back the next day and they gave me absolutely no money. They have a tiny pickleball Court in the store. We're just totally useless I recommend it to Life Time that they put a Pickleball Store in their facility, they could've made a fortuney read more

I couldn't even believe this place. I used to belong to the Rockville location when I still lived here and it always got the job done during high school/college breaks and I thought it was actually a really nice gym. Now visiting home and using my parents' guest passes, I came to the new Gaithersburg location. This was not only the biggest gym I've ever been to before, but it is soooo nice inside. So many machines, so clean, so much space to do whatever you need to do. Honestly jealous that we don't have a place this nice in Chicago. My parents go every Saturday morning for Pilates classes too and highly recommend those as well! read more

I think the reviews are pretty critical here. I can agree the locker rooms tend to be dirty, especially the showers and steam room but overall it's a really incredible gym and everyone works real hard. The front desk people that check you in vary from super friendly and welcoming to not present whatsoever. It's funny that most gyms don't put enough priority on the front desk greeter -- that person is responsible for the majority of reviews online when it really comes down to it. Excellent gym with helpful staff. I take away a star because most of my fellow members of this gym are garbage humans. A cavalcade of entitlement is on display: drivers are dangerously incompetent, locker room etiquette is non-existent, people don't wipe down their equipment, and rudeness is apparently part of the Onyx Club requirements. Join for the facilities and staff, but show up like me late at night to avoid other members. Update: after two unpleasant interactions with two different gym users over the course of one week (twice in three visits), my wife and I decided we're moving over to a new gym. One, watched a young woman back her car into a parked car in the parking garage. She saw that several people including me stopped to watch, I took out my phone and took some photos...because she just drove off. Hit and run. Yelled for her to stop, she never put down her own phone. Entitled idiot. Second, in the middle of a set on a machine, muscle guy comes over, yells at me to move to another machine. Pretty rude and confrontational. Many of my bad interactions have been with the white clientele. Perhaps it's the type of people attracted to this Lifetime location. Goodbye great kids' playspace. See ya, big outside pool. Again, lovely staff, it's the godawful folks. We'll see if it's me if the same crap happens at a new gym (didn't before). read more

This place is HEAVEN. We have been excited about this gym since we heard the news about its construction. The gym is exactly what we imagined it to be from our virtual tours. Its clean, spacious and has every equipment you could think of. The alpha center is equipped with several platforms which is the biggest reason why we signed up! They have an open turf area right across convenient for using sleds and warming up. We recently found out that they hold classes up in the alpha center but the trainer was very accommodating and even offered to move the class to the turf area so we could finish our workouts on the platforms. They work to keep their customers happy and i'm very satisfied with their service. They keep the place very clean no matter how crowded it gets. You get bonus points for signing up that you could use towards supplements in their cafe or get your nails done in their lifespa! read more

I started coming here because I heard Mark Cuban met his wife at the gym! Not that I'm looking for someone.. But it just made me want to go to a nicer gym.. Because... You just never know... (I used to go to Sports and Health Club) Anyway, I love coming here! It's expensive but VERY WORTH IT! I've been coming here since 2017! Customer service is always GREAT! They always respond to my inquiries. I also enjoy the Rockville location! Gaithersburg location is fancier, bigger and has pools.(Yes Pools! That's plural!) 2 inside and 2 outside(open in the summer).. So I can swim all year! YAAAAY! AND THE LEISURE POOLS ARE HEATED!!!! It doesn't get better than that! 3 Hot tubs: 1 outside(open in the summer), 1 in the pool area, and 1 in the ladies locker room! The only thing is.. I wish they were 24 hours. I'm nocturnal so late night workouts are best for me. However as an Onyx member they allow me to go to the Rockville location which is 24 hours! I love that! My twin sister goes to Planet Fitness.. I invited her as a guest here. And she loved it SO MUCH that I decided to pay for her to be a member too. Guess which one she likes better. Also the equipment here is top notch! My absolute favorite place to work out!!! It's clean , spacious , great variety of daily group classes, long hours of operation!! Personally I've found very exciting to attend the classes with so many other members of the gym, everyone looks very motivated and happy . I'm enjoying all the amenities of this facility- big locker room and showers, steam rooms, jacuzzi, cafe and spa! Yesterday I had a deep tissue massage with Leyla, it was very Professional and I felt Great! I'm a bit sore today, but she gave me some recommendations! In my opinion totally worth the price!!! Great gym. I have been going here since they opened. Went to the Rockville location before. This gym is much more crowded than the Rockville location. Mainly due to more equipment/space and there is a pool at the Gaithersburg location. Staff at the front desk are friendly along with the rest of the staff who works at the gym. Locker room and equipment are always clean. I feel fine being able to shower in a clean facility. Love the eucalyptus steam room. I like how you can bring two guests monthly and don't have to wait a period before the same one can come back. Classes are great and they offer a variety of spin classes and yoga. I also like the basketball courts but every time I try to use it, it is always full with games or children playing in the courts. Parking can be an issue at times but there is a large garage for overfill. Overall, excellent gym and atmosphere. read more

For those who play indoor basketball and are looking to get around the MoCo indoor mask mandate, Life Time Gaithersburg is your location. While everyone else is masked up, tho they don't seem to really enforce the rule, they really don't on the courts. I signed up for a student membership back in September last year and used the gym during breaks with no problems until around March this year during spring break I scanned my pass and they told me I coundlt come in because "I wasn't a member". The whole point of joining Life Time, aside from the classes were for its 24/7 facilities. The pricing is high, however it was justified by the running maintenance of it being all day & night. It now has the same hours as every other gym - or worse, and the classes are too few and too hard to come by with the new covid stipulations. Why am I paying the same high price for half of your delivery? Why not cut the monthly dues in half since sauna & steam is closed? Furthermore you are no longer abiding by the terms of the contract stating the amount of money we are paying for what was to be a 24/7 facility? This needs to be addressed & handled... if you value your money stay the hell away from this place. I went in to do a tour of the gym and speak to a representative about joining. I went with my sister and we were looking to switch from LA Fitness/Gold's Gym to Life Time. The conversation with the rep went well, as did the tour, but afterwards (as is normal with most gyms) we were expecting to be able to use the gym but we're told we couldn't unless we joined AND then that turned into selling tactics 101 on prices going up the next day. I don't enjoy pressured sales especially when I haven't been able to try the product. Yes, I saw the gym, it was beautiful, but I wanted to try the gym to get a sense of how I would feel to be there and wasn't given the opportunity. I was told it would be $30 for a day pass and so my sister and I chose to leave. Their Eleiko bars looked amazing but that's all I got from my time there. read more

I used to enjoy it there pre- pandemic. Unfortunately, the three members of my household are high risk so we asked to suspend membership until the situation was safe. We recently returned to become members again (child finally vaccinated) and learned that they had tried to charge us two months of full price membership at the start of the year and now we owe several hundred dollars. My account balance always (and continues) to show $0. The account manager was kind and fairly confident that corporate would dismiss the charges, but this was not the case. I am reluctant to re-connect with a business I do not trust, not to mention the extreme price increase and lack of outdoor pool inclusion in the membership fees. I am torn. read more

Nice facility but management has something to be desired. First, they have parking spots dedicated for hybrid cars but ZERO enforcement. A bunch of SUVs parked there says something about how the facility is run. When we first signed up, the coordinator who signed us up, Armand, never returned one call or one email - ever! I lost my card within the first week and asked for a new one. They told me to wait as it'll turn up in lost and found. When it didn't, they wanted to charge me $5 for the card bc it outside of a month of us joining!! Well hello??! I asked for the card within the first month but you refused - so you can charge me $5 later. Again, poor management and customer service. If I was Lifetime, I would review the management approach. I also signed up for my kid for the kid club. He ended up doing nothing along with 20 other kids just watching one staff member shoot hoops. They seem to have everything you would need (especially in the locker rooms -- good lord!). I'm considering membership, but am really concerned to see how negative their reviews are here. Came here with with my boyfriend and friend. Went into the locker rooms and was definitely impressed. There was hair spray, body lotion, blow dryers, bathing suit dryers, a sauna, a hot tub all in the women's locker room!!! But I came here for a gym. Yeah I get it there's an indoor and outdoor pool. But if you're gonna have an outdoor pool, have some diving boards and play some music for there to be more fun. PLUS, it was abs day, AND THERE WAS ONE ABS MACHINE!! Had to resort to floor exercises!!! Was so disappointed!!!! Yes the locker rooms and the facilities are amazing, but probs not gonna come back here for working out. Even the machines are so random so even if I did chest day , I would've had to search the entire gym for chest weight exercises. Might come back, only for the facilities and pool though. read more

I just cancelled my membership after 2 years. When I quit, I wasn't asked why. No questions or gratitude for my over 2 years of money in membership and kids classes. Nothing. Nada. It solidified my choosing to leave. As a Founding Member I was given a rate of $110/month, plus $40 for each of my 2 children. A few months ago they raised it to $118, which made no sense since they have 14K members.....except I guess with that many members you don't need to care about the $200 from one family. The only person at the gym that made me feel like a valued customer was Stacy H., who runs the fitness classes. She's excellent at teaching and at Customer Service. The Kids Academy Manager, Dan, is also responsive to messages and usually friendly when he is at the gym. The spa is good enough, although some services are overpriced. The swim managers are always seeming to turn over and it was always a pain when my kids took swim lessons, although we managed to get good instructors and liked the program. Others didn't have the same experience and it seemed like it was always difficult to get someone to talk to when there was an issue. The facility is beautiful and always clean. The Kids Academy is the most worthwhile part of the gym, in terms of what you get over another place, and the pool in the summer is very nice. After 2 years of arguments over spaces on classes (people will literally stake out twice the space they need and loudly yell about it, I even watched grown women bullying each other yelling "No one likes you!" over a spot in Zumba at the Rockville location), and being constantly sold new services, I just want to go to a gym where I take my class and leave and don't feel like a jerk that doesn't give enough money. I take the "free" classes. They're not free. They are included in my membership fees. I have to get a wristband to go to some of them. The parking lot is also a pain. The gym is much nicer than others in the area. However, it's not 4 times nicer than LA Fitness, and that's what you're paying....4 times more money. If you have kids between the ages of 3 and 10, this is a good option. Otherwise, there are similar classes and equipment available for far less money. read more

This location feels like it should offer me more space/ recreational rooms such as a racquetball court, however the facilities that are available, are extremely well maintained and high quality. As much as I love Lifetime, it has come to my notice that the cleaning staff is throwing customers items in the trash instead of turning into lost and found! I forgot my two piece swimsuit yesterday and nobody saw it hanging on the hook by the sauna seriously? The other day I dropped my underwear coming from the shower and the cleaning lady trashed it instead of attempting to find the owner given it was new and clean. If they can pick and trash why can't they at least try finding the owner before trashing? When I asked her she told me they throw away underwear's! Vary nice gym. Minimal free weights. More for cardio and cable machine type workouts. Not for serious bodybuilding. Shower pressure was weak but locker room very nice and clean. Don't think it is worth the price. Especially the 35$ day pass! Was a nice gym tho. read more

As a member of Lifetime, I have checked out the clubs in my area. I was excited to try out this location, because it was brand new. The equipment is in great condition and the top floor is really awesome. The top floor is a mini field to do short sprint drills and other calisthenic exercise. This gym is definitely nicer than the Columbia Lifetime. I am surprised that it does not have a rock climbing wall in here. It is bigger and has more equipment than the other Lifetimes I have been too. The 3rd floor also has a boxing speed bag, body bag, and sparring area. The second floor is weights, cardio, and basketball court. The cafe is nice and similar to the cafe at other Lifetimes. I try to work out over here whenever I can!! It is starting to get crowded which the only reason for 4 stars. The bathrooms are pretty awesome too with a dry and wet sauna, and spas. Like the Columbia Lifetime, the 2 indoor pools and one outdoor pool look great. read more

I have been a long standing member starting at the Rockville location then I decided to try out the Gaithersburg location. I tried Pilates classes which are good but no Match for Pilates classes with real instructors who truly understand and practice correct movements . I have been taking team burn for 1 year and I have enjoyed it until the class sizes were allowed to be as high as 18 at Gaithersburg location . The Rockville location only allows 10 in a class plus the weights are located on the treadmills and a space is provided in the middle for the weight workout. I am a high school teacher and I can tell you class size matters . This is a paid class, I should not have to put up with class sizes this large. I would understand a spin class or other general workout class but not a paid class. I am probably going to switch to Rockville and stop the Gaithersburg club the pool is awesome but I feel That the personal training could use a revamp here. I was told that they could not really put a cap on the number of people in a class. People are allowed to float into your class even if it is technically full 15 was the pretend number I was given. So that is how the class climbs to 18 or so which has happened on Saturdays as people have had to hop on treadmills across from the class. After visiting Rockville location I will definitely look into returning to sanity in class sizes for team burn . read more

I've been a member of an athletic club in Montgomery village or GAITHERSBURG my entire life. I first worked out at the YMCA in Montgomery village shopping center. Then I joined sport and health lake forest. Eventually I moved to sport and health Rio then moved on to Darnestown Golds. I usually work out four days per week and I get burnt out seeing the same equipment and same people every time I got so I need to switch it up. Since I found Lifetime I haven't found it necessary to move. I've been a member for over a year. The facility is super clean, modern, and Lifetime has great amenities. The cafe is a great place to pick up a snack or a meal after a workout. The pool during the summer is amazing. Resort style lounge chairs and a water slides for kids. I don't drink alcohol but there is an outdoor bar where you can grab a drink. My only complaints are that the food and membership are very expensive and during peak hours this gym gets very crowded. It's starting to die down a little bit as we get further away from New Year Resolutions but Jan - Feb has been brutal. Hopefully people keep dropping off so I can get through my workouts without waiting for the equipment I need. Still, I enjoy the quality of the gym and the amenities enoughto award this facility 4 stars. read more

Make sure you park in a well-lit area because there have been several car break-ins recently at their gym parking lot. There are only cameras inside the indoor garage, not outside. I had parked by the outdoor pool, not far from the entrance. I came back outside only to find my passenger window smashed open but luckily nothing was stolen. Of course, I did not leave anything valuable or anything that looked of value visible so I'm not sure why they chose to smash my car... It was my first day coming here to try out the gym so I don't even have membership yet. Won't be taking the risk to come back here again. Too expensive anyway and I have to fix my window now. read more

1. The managers and the guys in suits up front, avoid at all cost. They will talk your head off. 2. Bluetooth speaker of mine was stolen and after being told to "wait a few weeks for it to turn up" they refused to look at the cameras to check to see who walked away with it. 3. A friend was unable to get into contact with their brother who is disabled. His phone was dead and they couldn't locate him. She asked the front desk to make an announcement on the intercom and they refused. Bringing in the manager they said they were unable to do so due to "security" policies which is BS. Every damn hour they are making announcements, using first and last names to call people to the kids academy. This was a frustrating experience. 4. Supposed to be one of the best lifetimes, yet they close at 12am and open at 4am. That time period is key for many people and yet this aren't 24/hr. 5. They claim to enforce policy but be prepared for fully naked people in the locker room whirlpool (both men's and women). 6. Avoid this place if your schedule aligns with their peek times. You'll have to park on the garage roof and wait forever for machines, squat rack, free weights. 7. Classes. Damn classes always "reserving" racks or machines. Get annoying. Sometimes they don't use it but they won't let you get near till it's done. 8. This place is only worth it if your work provides a discount. If you work for the gov, or medical facilities such as Adventist or holy cross they may have corporate accounts and offer employees significant discounts. read more
