How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

Alex is unquestionably one of those rare trainers who understand both the psychological and practical aspects of training. He is quick to tune into the personalities of his clients and push/encourage them accordingly, and he isn't rigid in his training approach -- if you want to skip or modify an exercise, he is happy to adjust the workout. His compliments are genuine, and he never judges you for failing to finish an exercise, resting, or confessing to a bad week of eating. Finally, I enjoy the style of the workouts he provides for me. Lots of creative exercises and new twists, yet all very functional. And because his exercises tend to utilize multiple muscle groups, they provide a full-body workout -- you definitely get your cardio in addition to strength training, which is great for anyone who is crunched for time!

When my card expired, I told them to pause or cancel, figuring they couldn't charge so I was done for now. But the they called and said I owe for the month my card expired *and* the next month because of a 30-day cancellation policy--plus they threatened collections if I didn't come in to pay and cancel officially. Yes, I should've canceled sooner and I bet they have contracts and policies. But after years of being such a loyal advocate telling everyone how great it is and loving it myself , I would have appreciated a little flexibility. Maybe paying only one month when I was ready to cancel and bending the rule for me. I know they can they have specials all the time. Instead, they wouldn't budge, leaving a bad taste after so many positive experiences. If you're thinking of canceling, don't wait--do it right away or you'll pay for extra months. It's disappointing that a company I once loved would treat a loyal customer this way. Sadly, I don't think I'll be going back to this location if I ever want to go back.

Sounds like I'm not the only one to say beware of extra charges according to other reviews…read more I was visiting from another location and used one of my passes to take a class at this location. I am aware that my location is typically lower on pricing so there could be an up-charge, however, I am used to being notified of any charges that I would occur when I am checking in to a new location for the first time. The front desk person was cheerful, however, when she asked me for a credit card to just keep on file there was no mention of any charges I would incur and said no charges would be made, it was just to ensure a card was on file for future use. Apparently future used meant immediately after my class without notification. I don't remember who the coach was, but she was just OK. I understand most OT classes these days don't typically use the rower as much as they used to or at least that's what it seems. I always like to start on the tread or rower to get my heart rate up and get the most bang for my buck out of my OT workout. I don't know why they have you start on a rower or only to mention that you will be getting off a minute or two later and starting on the floor. It would be nice to know that when you sign up for your starting position before class starts. Once I noticed this, I mentioned I would prefer to switch to the tread, but the coach told me to proceed with the group I signed with and to go to the floor even though they were open treads. I've always had rather good experiences at any location I've been to as I travel a lot and like to check out gyms in other locations... So I will say this was a first to be disappointed by OT. If you're local, I'm sure it's fine... If you're traveling, I would maybe try a different location or at least beware that you will probably be charged without notification for whatever they decide that day.

The first time I worked with Priscilla, it was during a squatting seminar that she held to teach a group of us the fundamentals. At this point in time I knew I wanted to begin weight lifting but I was really intimidated. Priscilla was so attentive to each of us in the group and we really got one-on-one attention... That one session gave me the confidence I needed to begin that part of my fitness journey 2. I also joined Stronger's group workouts which I feel are the perfect way to get that personal training in without breaking the bank (I was a full-time student). And while the workouts are absolutely amazing and work every dollar, the most memorable parts were when Priscilla and the other group members would share their triumphs and struggles of their own fitness journey. Priscilla is very transparent about what her own insecurities used to be and how she's overcome them 3. A few months ago I moved states and after the move I found myself no longer working out and my good eating habits went out the door. My energy levels were all over the place and I was pretty unhappy with myself. I finally decided to take action and work with Stronger to improve my nutrition. I've been working on my nutrition with Priscilla for about a month and a half and I'm amazed. My energy levels have improved, my bowel movements are regular (sorry tmi), my cravings are low and I've lost 5+ pounds..... on just diet alone! I'm not going to lie, I was hesitant about whether or not a long distance nutrition program would work for me but Priscilla is so consistent in her communication with me that I feel fully supported in this part of my journey. My trainer was personable and I would use her again, I'm sure. Things I wish were different: the carpet and equipment are very old. The mats so worn around the equipment that you can see foot prints. The weight machines labels for the weights are all but coming off. The decore - as with my other LAF location on the West Coast - very, very dated (2000's). The cleaning staff seem to be present and doing their jobs but it's impossible to clean used/aged equipment. They do have a machine repair guy in regularly and that's promising (but again, the equipment is simply old and very worn). I wish there were more clocks located around the facility, especially the weight area. I guess I'm just hoping they start a renovation/remodel soon (without having to shut everything down). I promise to keep you posted as things improve (or not).
