Easy to talk to and also felt comfortable to be quiet, my haircut left me speechless, it was beautiful. Pros: -the changing rooms are outfitted with lockers, toiletries, changing stall, showers, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and swimsuit drying machines -awesome indoor and outdoor pools, with a water slide, lots of padded chairs, and pool bar -day passes and guest passes available.. You can also use the gym if you get a LifeSpa service that day -several options to get food, protein, etc if you need that -staff was friendly -towel service Cons:- I was overcharged for my tab at the pool, signage said $8 for Mango Cart but I paid like $12+tip -$200+ per month is just not in my price range -the number of weight machines seemed low compared to everything else, I went at 1pm on a Tuesday so I can only imagine how long I'd have to wait after 5pm. Some things only had 2 of that machine, I expect more for the money paid.

How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

The front desk staff…read moreare wonderful and really seem to love the (part-time) jobs (don't get me started on not providing healthcare so staff don't have to work 2 part-time jobs). My trainer was personable and I would use her again, I'm sure. Things I wish were different: the carpet and equipment are very old. The mats so worn around the equipment that you can see foot prints. The weight machines labels for the weights are all but coming off. The decore - as with my other LAF location on the West Coast - very, very dated (2000's). The cleaning staff seem to be present and doing their jobs but it's impossible to clean used/aged equipment. They do have a machine repair guy in regularly and that's promising (but again, the equipment is simply old and very worn). I wish there were more clocks located around the facility, especially the weight area. I guess I'm just hoping they start a renovation/remodel soon (without having to shut everything down). I promise to keep you posted as things improve (or not).

She also made the gym feel much less intimidating, which I really appreciated. Staff members like her truly make a difference.

I would…read morerank this location above Planet Fitness, but below Lifetime (which is unaffordable for me at ~$200/month) or Onelife (~$50/month). It is pretty clean and has a few fun choices of classes. The instructors are energetic, and it seems the classes have their own little community, too. The staff is friendly and welcoming from my interactions with them. Some drawbacks are that the gym typically closes at 10 or 11, and I like to go later in the night, when it is less busy. During peak hours after work, this gym gets pretty crowded upstairs in the weightlifting section, and I notice that a lot of people can be impatient waiting for the machines, since there is only 1 or 2 of each. Also, the machines are not really upkept perfectly- there are numbers rubbing off to see how much weight you're lifting. As far as value and location goes, I would probably switch to PF or Onelife if I did not have the $28/month discounted price to LA Fitness. Do research to see what works for you.

I've always loved Orange Theory and used to go 2-4 times a week in California. When I moved to…read moreMaryland, I started my membership back up after a few year break hoping I'd get back into it. Sadly though the studio was farther and my schedule didn't line up. When my card expired, I told them to pause or cancel, figuring they couldn't charge so I was done for now. But the they called and said I owe for the month my card expired *and* the next month because of a 30-day cancellation policy--plus they threatened collections if I didn't come in to pay and cancel officially. Yes, I should've canceled sooner and I bet they have contracts and policies. But after years of being such a loyal advocate telling everyone how great it is and loving it myself , I would have appreciated a little flexibility. Maybe paying only one month when I was ready to cancel and bending the rule for me. I know they can they have specials all the time. Instead, they wouldn't budge, leaving a bad taste after so many positive experiences. If you're thinking of canceling, don't wait--do it right away or you'll pay for extra months. It's disappointing that a company I once loved would treat a loyal customer this way. Sadly, I don't think I'll be going back to this location if I ever want to go back.

Sounds like I'm not the only one to say beware of extra charges according to other reviews…read more I was visiting from another location and used one of my passes to take a class at this location. I am aware that my location is typically lower on pricing so there could be an up-charge, however, I am used to being notified of any charges that I would occur when I am checking in to a new location for the first time. The front desk person was cheerful, however, when she asked me for a credit card to just keep on file there was no mention of any charges I would incur and said no charges would be made, it was just to ensure a card was on file for future use. Apparently future used meant immediately after my class without notification. I don't remember who the coach was, but she was just OK. I understand most OT classes these days don't typically use the rower as much as they used to or at least that's what it seems. I always like to start on the tread or rower to get my heart rate up and get the most bang for my buck out of my OT workout. I don't know why they have you start on a rower or only to mention that you will be getting off a minute or two later and starting on the floor. It would be nice to know that when you sign up for your starting position before class starts. Once I noticed this, I mentioned I would prefer to switch to the tread, but the coach told me to proceed with the group I signed with and to go to the floor even though they were open treads. I've always had rather good experiences at any location I've been to as I travel a lot and like to check out gyms in other locations... So I will say this was a first to be disappointed by OT. If you're local, I'm sure it's fine... If you're traveling, I would maybe try a different location or at least beware that you will probably be charged without notification for whatever they decide that day.
