Our journey began with male factor infertility, and our first round of ICSI didn't work. We were devastated--but never felt alone. The team at New Direction supported us with kindness and empathy, never pressuring us into another round before we were ready. Dr. Derman took the time to refer my husband to a male fertility specialist, giving us space to explore options and come back when we felt ready. That level of care and respect meant everything to us. We eventually did two rounds of IUI and another round of ICSI--which was successful! I'm now 14 weeks pregnant, with our baby due in May 2026! From the ease of scheduling to the professionalism and warmth of every staff member, New Direction made a difficult journey feel hopeful and supported. Thank you for helping us grow our family!

I apologize for the length of this review, but want to share my experience with New Direction. Even…read morethough my treatment time with them was short, sadly I did not have the experience that I had hoped for. I was referred by my OB/GYN for help with better management of my PCOS symptoms and the hope to get to a place where I could conceive naturally, or with minimal help/treatment. My first consultation with Dr. Derman was okay. He was professional, and initially made me feel heard. I was given two options for helping my PCOS: 1) lose weight, possibly with a GLP1 from my PCP, to see if that helped with my PCOS and allowed me to conceive or 2) jump into ovulation induction medications to get pregnant ASAP. Ultimately I chose to go the GLP1 route through my PCP and put a hold on option 2. Dr. Derman prescribed me a birth control, as he wanted me to try to regulate my cycle and I needed to be on BC if I started taking a GLP1. I started having "breakthrough bleeding" on the pill, which I was expecting. However, the bleeding lasted for 75 days. While it wasn't heavy bleeding the entire time, it was enough to have to use my menstrual cup every day for those 75 days. I reached out to the clinic a few times during those 75 days to express concern and to ask "how long is too long?" Every time I got the same answer, to continue taking the pill and that the bleeding was to be expected; that there was no concern unless I was filling my menstrual cup within a couple of hours. I discussed this with my PCP, who helped me make the decision to change my birth control pill. I started a new pill, and the bleeding stopped within 10 days. It was clear that the birth control Dr. Derman put me on was not ideal for my body...but they didn't seem to care, even when I told them the constant bleeding was taking a physical and mental toll. I decided to no longer seek any care through New Direction. To me, it felt like my care was put on the back burner since I wasn't trying to actively get pregnant. It felt like I wasn't worth their time or effort, and it was very disheartening. Sadly, this ruined their reputation for me. If I couldn't count on them to listen to a concern about a birth control pill, it doesn't instill a lot of trust that they'll be the right providers for me should I need fertility treatment.

Appointments are almost always on time. Dr. C is dedicated to, and goes the extra mile for his patients, even coming in on a weekend and holiday to just to work with my body's timing and then to address an emergency. When I experienced some strange symptoms another weekend, he took the time to reach out to and consult with another specialist, address my concerns and call in new prescriptions, all on his birthday. Dr. C's expertise and competence are also outstanding. I came to him with several rare preexisting conditions, poor egg quality and a high rate of aneuploidy after another doctor had recommended I try with donor eggs instead of my own. From my very first consultation, he was well informed on my conditions, asked new questions, and investigated things that had not previously been looked at. Once we started and had unsuccessful cycles, he came up with new strategies and ideas to overcome the issues I was facing. Even when I was ready to give up, he did not, and his confidence helped me overcome my fears and doubts to try again. When we finally got a euploid embryo, he did everything in his power to ensure I had a successful transfer, doing pre-implantation testing, adding a special protocol to my cycle, and supplement and lifestyle changes to boost the chances of success - and it worked. I cannot thank Dr. C enough for his dedication and steadfastness in making my dream come true, and his team for their support throughout my journey.

Sometimes he explains things in a way that makes your head spin, but then you see the results and realize he really does know exactly what he is doing. Today I have two beautiful children because of them, and I have never been a better version of myself. If you are considering IVF, go here. They will change your life.

When I learned she was the assistant I was shocked. Kathy took charge in the most gentle and kind way every time we met. She talked me through everything, was meticulous about getting my consent every time she touched my body, and always had a warm smile on her face. Kathy was the midwife in the team of 3 that met my wife and I at my home to monitor my labor before going to the birth center. She helped me stay in the best position so that I could move labor along and she was a calm, steady and encouraging presence when I was in a tremendous amount of pain. I remember feeling absolutely done at one point and telling her that I changed my mind and wanted to know the dilation of my cervix. I said I wanted to go to the hospital and that I couldn't do it anymore. She respected that I changed my mind and told me that if I had made it to a seven that it was time to go to the birth center, but that if I wasn't yet at seven that we would talk about it again. She then checked me and it was time to go. She reminded me that if I was at that point of wanting to give up that it likely meant I was in transition. And that was true! Kathy was just all around amazing through the whole experience. I could not have done an unmedicated birth without her. Needless to say, I highly recommend working with Kathy.

My Honest Review of ARMS Fertility and Dr. Moffitt…read more I began my IVF journey at ARMS in 2022 with Dr. Moffitt after we were diagnosed with male factor infertility. We were fortunate to collect 10 embryos during our first cycle. I want to start by mentioning something I often see in other reviews, which is that Dr. Moffitt's bedside manner is not great. That was not my experience at all. He was professional, caring, and thorough. He always answered my questions, explained the pros and cons of every option, and made sure my husband and I understood each step. I never felt like just a number. He provided all the information we needed and respected our choices as patients, which I really appreciated. Our first transfer in 2022 sadly ended in miscarriage. We decided to try again in March of 2025. Once again, we met with Dr. Moffitt to review everything, including my previous loss. He recommended some additional testing, and we chose which ones to move forward with. In April 2025, we transferred two embryos, had three strong betas, and soon after confirmed with my OB that it was twins. Unfortunately, I never officially "graduated" from ARMS this time, and that was because of the communication issues I experienced with my assigned nurse, Amy. Compared to my first transfer nurse, Teana, who was absolutely amazing, this time was much more confusing. Amy sent me multiple FET timelines that did not match my medications, and at one point she had me taking three different types of progesterone. When my lab results came back, my progesterone levels were very high. Amy called to ask what I was taking, and after I explained, she told me I did not need the under-the-tongue progesterone since I was already on PIO. That medication had been a special order and was not cheap. She tried to joke by saying, "You must be feeling pretty dizzy," which I actually was, but I did not find it funny at all. I asked her to resend the correct protocol through the patient portal, even though by that point I had already received my second positive beta. To make a long story short, after my OB sent my updated labs and ultrasound, Amy never followed up to schedule my graduation appointment, so I never returned to ARMS or saw Dr. Moffitt again. Despite that frustration, I still have a lot of respect for Dr. Moffitt and his care. If I return for another transfer in the future, I will definitely request to work with Teana again. She made my first experience clear, organized, and supportive from start to finish. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with healthy boy and girl twins from this transfer, and for that, I am very thankful to ARMS and Dr. Moffitt.

My first impression of Arizona Reproductive Medicine…read moreSpecialists was actually great because they offered a first responders discount, which a lot of clinics don't do. That was honestly one of the main reasons we decided to go with ARMS. However, once we started the process, my experience was very mixed. When we first met with the doctor, we maybe spent a minute with him. There was no personal relationship, no small talk, nothing that made us feel like more than just another patient. It was very straight to the point, which was disappointing because I know many people build really supportive relationships with their fertility clinics. When I went in for my SHG, I was told it looked like I might have something called an isthmocele from my previous C-section. The doctor said I might need surgery to correct it, but it really wasn't explained to me in detail. I was basically told I needed to find a doctor to repair it. When I asked if we could proceed without repairing it, I received a message saying that if it wasn't corrected, he would not move forward with a transfer. They referred me to a doctor at Mayo Clinic, but after doing my own research I found out that only two doctors in Arizona actually perform this surgery. Thankfully I found my OB, and we were able to schedule surgery quickly to repair the isthmocele. After surgery, I contacted the clinic and was told I would need to have another SHG done in their office. This was confusing because the surgeon who performed my surgery was already planning to do one himself and clear me for transfer. The cost of having the SHG done at the fertility clinic was also significantly higher than having it done with my OB. I finally had to be very direct and tell them I would not be repeating the test there and that my surgeon would be clearing me. This is also when I began having problems with the Phoenix front office staff. Every time we visited the office it felt like we were interrupting conversations. One time I called to ask if they had received my surgical reports. The front desk told me they had not. I asked them to check again because my surgical office had just faxed them while I was on the phone with them. They said they still didn't have them. I called again a few hours later and was told the same thing. Finally, I gave them my date of birth and asked them to look again. As soon as they searched correctly, suddenly all the reports were there. On top of the confusion, the staff member was extremely rude. Working in a fertility clinic, you would think the front office staff would show a little more empathy considering what patients are going through. Unfortunately, that empathy was really lacking, and it often felt like they just didn't care. I do want to say that the medical staff who helped with my transfer were absolutely amazing. They were kind, supportive, and made the experience feel special. Honestly, that is the only reason I'm giving this clinic even one star. In the two hours I spent with those medical assistants, I felt more cared for than I had during most of my time with the clinic. Communication with the office overall was extremely difficult, and I'm very disappointed that the experience didn't match what I hoped it would be during such a difficult journey. We did get the result we wanted, and I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant, which I'm incredibly grateful for. But if I had to go through this process again, I would not let the financial discount influence my decision. My final negative experience happened on March 4 when I called to have my records sent to my OB after graduating from the clinic. The front office staff member who answered was blatantly rude to me while I was on speakerphone at my OB's office. Even the staff at my doctor's office were shocked by how the conversation went. Because of my experience with the front office staff, I would strongly encourage the clinic to reconsider who they hire in those positions. When women are going through infertility, the people around them matter so much. Compassion and communication are incredibly important, and unfortunately this office made an already difficult process feel much harder than it needed to be.
