This is going to be a long read but stick with me... My husband and I started going to a different fertility doctor in the valley after a year of TTC. They were nice and our experience started off great. I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and we started IUI. I got pregnant on the first IUI but ended up miscarrying. After that, my body felt different and I kept telling our doctor this but they continued recommending IUI without any further testing. We went through three failed IUIs after that before I decided I was tired of feeling like I wasn't being heard. They were taking about moving to IVF (which I was not opposed to). My gut told me something else was going on. And for anyone going through infertility, it's VERY hard. Every time you get that call saying you are not pregnant is devastating and it really takes a toll on you. So when you also feel like you are just another number, trust your gut and move on. So I started researching other fertility doctors and I narrowed it down to two, based on recs from friends. I scheduled consults with both and my husband and I both felt like Dr. C stood out to us because it seemed like he actually listened to us. He didn't buy the "unexplained fertility" diagnosis and had some suspicions as to what was going on before even doing any tests. After we did the diagnostic testing, his suspicions were correct and I had issues with implantation and thin uterine lining. He said he wouldn't even suggest IVF at that time because it probably wouldn't work. I can't imagine the emotional toll that would have taken on top of throwing away money! Also, my other doctor kept pushing clomid and Dr C said he would never use that on someone who had a thin uterine lining because the med can actually cause thinning. We also found that my TSH was super low/basically bottomed out. He sent me to an endocrinologist and I found out after my miscarriage I had developed post partum hypothyroiditis. That would explain why I had felt so different. I definitely had symptoms of hypothyroidism. They monitored me and my TSH began to improve on its own. Dr. C started me on a regimen of supplements, diet change and exercise before doing IUI. He also recommended PRP and IVIL to prep my body. The first IUI didn't work, which was crushing. At that point my fertility benefits had run out for the year. My husband and I decided to pay out of pocket for one more IUI before talking about next steps. Now here is where Dr. C went from a good doctor to a great doctor. He didn't just try the same thing as before. He switched up/added meds this time around to tailor the treatment even further. And I got pregnant and stayed pregnant! I am now a mom to the sweetest baby boy. I truly don't think this would have happened without Dr.C. Also, the rest of the staff are amazing and so sweet! I felt like I actually got to know the few who treated/greeted me regularly. I never felt like just a number.

Be the solution. Create a happy family.

If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have my two beautiful children and I would still be living with pain. You will love not only Dr Reuss, but Mary and Gabby! For almost 15 years I was searching for answers regarding my pain; saw multiple doctors. When I moved to AZ and saw Dr Reuss; immediately he said my pain wasn't normal and I might have endometriosis. After an exploratory laparoscopic surgery; that's exactly what I had. I was living this for YEARS, doctor after doctor and Dr Reuss was the ONLY doctor to take me seriously. Dr Reuss recommended an amazing fertility doctor and the rest is history :). Recently Dr Reuss placed my IUD under sedation due to pain and other factors; he takes pain serious and never gaslights. With my two pregnancies Dr Reuss made sure I was comfortable and heard! With my second baby I had bad morning sickness; Dr reuss made sure i didn't suffer. My first baby was an emergency c section and second baby was a scheduled c section; I wouldnt trust anyone else with myself and babies! Also another plus, my first c section scar was barely noticeable and I assume this new one will be too Thank you Dr Reuss for literally everything!

In my experience, this practice felt very focused on efficiency and billing structure, and less aligned with the kind of patient-centered care I was hoping for. This is a longer review, but I think the context matters. I began seeing Dr. Deka for my first pregnancy in October after moving to the area. The office was nearby and had decent reviews. At my initial appointment, I was asked to pay the full amount for prenatal care and delivery before I had met Dr. Deka or had confirmation she would be the delivering physician. I wasn't sure if this was standard for the area, but I agreed because I didn't want to lose continuity of care. That day, I did not see Dr. Deka and instead saw her NP. The visit itself was routine (heartbeat check, urine test). The NP discussed vaccinations, which I understand is part of standard care, but I felt uncomfortable being repeatedly encouraged after I had already declined. At my next appointment, I met Dr. Deka. She appeared knowledgeable and professional, and I had a positive first impression. As my pregnancy progressed, I wanted to discuss my birth plan. These conversations were deferred earlier on, which I accepted. However, at 36, 37, and 38 weeks, when I attempted to discuss my preferences in more detail, the discussion remained very limited. I felt my wishes beyond "natural birth" were not fully explored or acknowledged. When I went into labor at 39 weeks, my water broke and labor was progressing. I was informed by hospital staff that Dr. Deka recommended starting Pitocin early. I had previously expressed that I wanted to avoid interventions unless medically necessary, so I declined. I felt continued pressure to agree, which was stressful for me during labor. Ultimately, my labor progressed naturally, Dr. Deka arrived closer to delivery, and my daughter was born vaginally. The delivery itself was uncomplicated and was described as "textbook." After giving birth, I returned to the office months later for what I believed was a routine preventive Pap smear. I later received bills indicating the visit was coded as a non-preventive office visit. When I contacted billing for clarification, I was told the coding would not be changed, despite my intake form indicating the reason for the visit was an annual well-woman exam. This was frustrating and unexpected. The front office staff were consistently pleasant, responsive, and helpful. They remembered me and answered questions promptly, and they were the most positive part of my experience. This is the main reason I'm leaving two stars instead of one. Dr. Deka may be a good fit for some patients. However, if having detailed discussions about your birth preferences and feeling aligned on approach is important to you, I would recommend making sure expectations are clearly discussed early on.

I should start out by saying that I received good care from Dr. Holmes and his staff, and delivered…read morea healthy baby girl by C-section, which he skillfully performed. However, here are the things I wish I had known before I chose him as my provider: There were times during my labor and delivery that he didn't know who I was. He kept confusing me with other patients. This was entertaining in some instances and not in others - for example, when he confused me with someone else who under no circumstances wanted a C-section. My baby's heart was in distress, my own heart (with a documented and discussed history of arrhythmia) was tachycardic, my water had ruptured more than 30 hours before (a month prematurely), I was running a temperature, and I was only dilated to a 2, and yet *I* had to be the one to bring up the possibility of a C-section. He was shocked when I did, because he thought I was vehemently against surgical intervention. This, despite the fact that two days before at my 35 week appointment, we literally shook hands that he would lean toward C-section if things went south. Another instance of him not knowing who I was: my water broke at midnight, so I called the answering service. They took my name and gestational age, and within a minute I was speaking to the doctor who informed me to head to Banner Gateway. I saw him the next morning, where he looked at my chart and expressed surprise that I was only 35 weeks pregnant. This could have been dangerous if my baby had been any more premature than she was, as Banner Gateway isn't as well equipped to take care of premature babies as Banner Desert is. Even if the answering service failed to tell him my weeks of gestation, shouldn't he have asked? Or shouldn't he have remembered, considering I saw him 12 hours before that phone call, at my 35 week appointment? At first I thought it was neat that he spent so much time with his patients and that he does all the ultrasounds personally. But ultimately what that means is that he and his staff are over-extended, and you WILL wait at each appointment; possibly up to an hour. I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't just hire an ultrasound tech to re-distribute some of the work, because lord knows the man has plenty of demand. (I even had a hospital staff member say to me incredulously, "He sure delivers a lot of babies...") I assume he just doesn't want to pay another staff member, but the entire practice suffers as a result, and it doesn't look good for him. Tip: If you choose him as your provider, get into the habit of asking for the very first appointment of the morning. (And even then, you might have a wait, depending on how his early-morning rounds at the hospital go. But it's your best hope.) The ultrasound equipment is ancient; forget about seeing clear images of your baby. You'll be lucky if you can make out a spine or a head. My best friend was pregnant at the same time as me and the difference between our ultrasound photo keepsakes makes me sad. I had no concept of my daughter's face or profile before she was born. The office itself is very old and tired and decorated like an 80's Relief Society room. There's a Book of Mormon in the lobby. (I'm even Mormon but found that off-putting.) At my first appointment, they gave me a little trinket that I got the strong impression was intended to be distributed in the parking lots of Planned Parenthood clinics - a pin showing you the size of your baby's feet at 10 weeks, and I think there was a scripture? If I recall correctly? All of this to say, I did not get the impression that the doctor would be supportive of all of a woman's options and rights when it comes to pregnancy. At my six week follow up, he talked about prescribing me a birth control pill that could have caused my milk to dry up. Luckily I was informed enough to know that as a nursing mother I needed a pill without estrogen - but if I hadn't known that, it could have been disastrous to my milk supply. Also, as soon as I left my six week follow up, I realized he never cleared me for sex! I thought that was the whole point of the six week appointment!! It was never mentioned. I don't plan to have any more children, but if that changes, I won't be seeing Dr. Holmes again. He's a very nice man and his team is as wonderful as all the reviews say (Alejandra in particular is a true gem), but everything considered I cannot recommend the practice.
