Firstly a discussion of the condition of the school for an estimated 116 students at the time being the school shared a whopping two lavatories, along with this the condition of said lavatories were vile and absolutely putrid, on a countless number of incidents we would constantly have backed up and clogged toilets accompanied by this were broken walls, removed stall doors, and an uncleaned floor due to the lack of cleaning staff aside from lavatories the chairs and tables a had writing and gum stuck all over a large sum of them and there was a few incidents were the large metal fence had become loose and provided metal and other harmful objects to students the facilities were In horrible states for the years I attended. Secondly the staff has shown an immense amount of unprofessionalism often with students and teachers fraternizing as if they were friends outside of school hours, many teachers acted similar to prison guards and acting as if they were superior often yelling and inciting confrontation, a staff member on a specific occasion yelled and acted immensely inappropriately to a special needs student which in turn caused said student to breakdown into tears, finally most of the reviews with the five star review were under the command of Robin Davis a competent leader however she is no longer at that school and with her absence came an intense struggle. Thirdly the location of the school is in an area that could very well be considered undesirable with the school being located in Rubidoux there would often be many lockdowns due to police activity, gunshots being heard, and on one occasion a police chase went right through the school causing a near hour delay during pickup. Due to it's location the school also has a heavy drug problem, and I mean heavy, there would be constant searches for them to combat this but it proved futile and in the end there would be many students coming to school high every day and the teachers simply accepted it, on one occasion a smoke alarm was set off in the restroom due to a recreational drug causing firefighters to show up and putting the school on lockdown, unrelated but during this lockdown one student and another exchanged words and the first student responded to the others challenge of combat with the words "I'll fucking gut you" the two students needed to be separated following this. Finally the Aviation program promised to students here was near non existent other than a class without a proper teacher and a singular working flight simulator. This is simply scratching the surface of my time at this school, so in my own personal recommendation if you truly want the best for you're child reconsider other options, for this is not an isolated problem but rather a constant issue.

I went to this elementary school when it first opened. I have no complaints about the teachers…read morebecause they were kind and had lesson plans. It was very rare to find a teacher who didn't care for her job. However, one teacher who didn't really care for her students was hired, but was fired for that very reason. The campus supervisors were also very kind, but didn't do anything if bullying was reported to them. I don't quite remember the name of the principal prior to Ms. Jacqueline Hall, but she also didn't do anything when bullying was reported. The principal before Ms. Hall didn't want to give consequences to the bullies, but pull out the kids who were bullied. Once Ms. Hall became principal, the school was a better environment.

All the other teachers that we had to work with demonstrate a "I'm just here for a pay check"attitude. Rather than to be warm, helpful, caring and show concern for your child's success in school. Unfortunately, I can not say anything positive about the front office staff. On many occasions, I've witnessed the principals secretary Angel get pretty short, nasty and rude to parents. It seems like she is forced to smile and be nice to people. And every time I have to go in the there Angel is ALWAYS gossiping! She is either saying something negative about a parent, teacher or student. I believe that is so unprofessional. Not only in a work place, but especially at a school. This year there is a new principal, and as a parent I will miss Mr. C but am also optimistic about getting to know the new principal. The teachers are also very professional and great educators. I like the fact that they use class dojo for communication with parents. The avid program has helped my child to be more organized with school and homework. The school also has activities for the kids that include the families and parents like panda picnic, field trips and more. Overall I feel safe having my daughter attend Peralta Elementary.

I went to inquire about enrolling my child into this school and received very rude treatment from…read morethe front office (Cassandra). I was completely turned off by her unprofessionalism, lack of eye contact, and the way she treats children. The front desk/office is the face of an establishment, the representation of what is the come. After talking with different parents I came to found out the following: * HIGH turnaround on teachers/staff. * The area is bad. * Homeless are constantly within feet of the school and the police don't always clear them out in the mornings. * Restrictions on taking your own child out of school during after hours!? * Over capacity of students. Most often times they need to eat lunch in their classrooms. *During the summer, the air conditioners don't always work, and the children are forced to eat outside with no shade. *Every year, at least 1 teacher leaves the school. Sometimes mid-year! Do yourself a huge favor and do your due diligence. Talk to other parents there and drive around during business hours and you can see it all for yourself.

Every morning, our child was excited to go to school, and always came home eager to share something new they learned. That joy and comfort came from the environment the teachers created -- one where every child is seen, valued, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. The communication with families was always thoughtful and consistent, and it was clear the entire staff was deeply invested in each child's development -- socially, emotionally, and academically. We are forever grateful for the strong foundation this preschool gave our child. Although, our child only spent around 10 months there.
