Unfortunately, once you scratch beneath the surface, it feels more like a franchise business than a premium early-childhood education program. We were told there was no screen time, but the children were shown YouTube videos, including Danny Go "movement" videos and videos of other people reading books that the school apparently did not have. When I arrived, the video was playing while the teacher stood watching the children. Administration nevertheless insisted this was not screen time. This practice is inconsistent with American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for toddlers, which emphasize carefully selected, high-quality media accompanied by active adult participation. The director holds an associate degree in early childhood education from Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and the teachers appear to meet the minimum education required by state licensing. At this price point, however, I expected substantially greater expertise in early childhood development. UC Riverside's Early Childhood Education Center is comparably priced and publicly reports a staff with 20 bachelor's degrees, two master's degrees, and California Child Development Permits. The director at UCR has a PH.d, not just an associates from LA Trade Tech. I was also disappointed by the unhealthy snacks--graham crackers, animal crackers, cheese, and applesauce, with no vegetables unless parents supplied them. Parents were even allowed to bring fast food into the classroom. The daily reports were unreliable: they claimed my child ate most of his food when his lunchbox came home untouched, and they listed learning objectives without explaining how those objectives were actually taught. Do not be distracted by the shiny new building. Ask detailed questions about staff education, screen use, snacks, and how the corporate curriculum is actually implemented in the classroom.

All the teachers and staff were so patient and supportive with my daughter and even us as she started the school process. My daughter felt safe and started to engage in the activities. After a few months, she loved the teachers and even played with some of the kids. She still talks about the good memories from the school and she misses the teachers. Although 2 teachers were unchanged from the beginning until the end of June (best point), the only negative point was the rate at which new teachers were joining the class or moving to other classes. We thought this would be the same when we enrolled my youngest son at 2 years of age. At 3 it was determined he had a receptive and expressive speech delay. This was communicated to management and my sons teachers. We were very open and shared what we were doing to help him (twice a week speech sessions and trying to get him into an early education program through our school district). There was an issue with him leaving the class room during transition of half day kids. He was able to bypass the teachers, parents coming in and out, and made it to the front gate. Luckily a parent stopped him and alerted staff. To sum up a long story, management pretty much blamed my son for not understanding safety by not opening the gates - granted he is 3 years old. They warned us if there was another incident they would have to terminate his enrollment. 1. The class room baby gate was broken/loose and could easily be opened by any child 2. How was he able to make it to the front gate without the teachers noticing 3. Why would they blame a 3 year old for not understanding safety. They told us they would see to securing the classroom gate and/or replacing it. A few months went by and they made no improvements to the gate and another incident happened where he tried to escape from the gates. They pretty much terminated us on the spot. Let me remind you, he does have a receptive speech delay meaning he has difficulty understanding language. After reminding them they did not fix their gate, the very next day they installed a 2nd gate...kinda too late for that. I reported this incident to their licensing department and they were sited with lack of child supervision. I find it very sad and upsetting that Tanya took no blame in this and that her solution to ensuring my sons safety was to terminate his enrollment. However this turned out to be a blessing in disguise because he is now in a child care facility that actually thinks outside the box and the teachers are amazing, compassionate and really care for your child. Temple is good if you have a normal easy going child. However, if your child is a little more active, or has a learning disability this is not the best place.

The teachers are all so sweet and engaged with the kids. We noticed right away how content, well mannered and happy all the children were when we visited. We love the flexibility of their schedule and their prices are totally fair and manageable. I dreaded the day I would need to send my baby off to be cared for by strangers. The peace of mind I have sending her here, knowing the kind of care she is recieving, is invaluable. I am eternally grateful we found this place and appreciate the staff with all of my heart. Unfortunately, I cannot say that it has been a positive experience throughout her attendance because there have been several challenges amidst a few "good months". Initially the site seemed inviting and welcoming but we soon discovered that this center was largely focused on quantity over quality, numbers over value or the importance of establishing interpersonal relationships with clients/families. While we understand children's temperaments and personalities vary, we feel that several teachers/ members of staff did not demonstrate the capacity, grace or patience to work with children effectively (at least not ours). We were constantly called away from work to pick our daughter up for nuances and incidents that we felt could and should be handled by skilled/trained staff. Coincidentally there were rarely incident reports when our daughter was in the receiving end. Our daughter is very intelligent, inquisitive, confident, outspoken and decisive, she's quite vocal about how she is treated & independent but this was often misinterpreted as a negative behavior and observed as problematic. We as parents' worked diligently to address any/all issues that could be addressed concerning behavior but ultimately observed that as she was continuously being disciplined and her negative behaviors highlighted' we observed her slowly lose her spirit, zeal, fervor and enthusiasm to attend. At best, we dis-enrolled her because we don't want to curb her enthusiasm or change the trajectory of her scholastic experience at such a young and impressionable age. We would like her free-spirited demeanor, creativity, and exploration to be cultivated, supported and encouraged wherever she journeys next We are grateful for the opportunity for our daughter to have attended, garnered the friendships and interactive skills she has.
