This may…read morebe due to security reasons, but it does pose a minor inconvenience to those who'd like to spend more time inside the masjid. The inside of the masjid is exceptionally beautiful, with a men's and women's side separate through a large marbled-floor hall. The women's side even has a large daycare room with toys which I thought was very thoughtful of the community. The bathrooms were not as clean as I'd had hoped, but it may be more difficult to clean with the influx of newcomers entering the city of San Antonio. I appreciated how the women's prayer room was on the first floor, with a one-sided mirror partition for privacy. The design truly helped me felt more connected to the congregation. Overall, pretty great experience. As a Colorado native, I was pleased to see such a strong Muslim presence in the wonderful state of Texas!

There's lots of formats offered here so this isn't an all inclusive review but I didn't love this class in particular as I felt a good majority of it was adding and/or changing props or getting instruction for what was happening. However, at the end we were told about a lot of other classes coming up that sounded different so I won't eliminate trying something else in the future.

Also stopped by cheetahlish boutique store and barely got in the door before the guy running the register made us feel unwelcome by immediately stating that there really wasn't enough aisle room for us. The service was great. They explained the process well, checked on me frequently, and were so helpful with creating the final product. They have various scents to choose from. You can mix and match until you find the one you like. You choose your vessel and they mix your choices until the scent is how you want it. You can choose the color and adorn it with wax designs. The price of the candle is based on the price of the vessel. It's a small space but they take small groups and singles (I'm sure you can rent the space up to occupancy size but call to be sure). They are strict about the appointments. They base appointments on party size so there's no room for add ons the day of because they roll appointments. If you need to add on, call ahead first. For fire code purposes, they have to adhere to the limit. I enjoyed the experience. I only wish they had patchouli. It's my favorite scent.

You mix the scents till you're happy. Mine was 6 drops of Sunday brunch, 3 drop of vanilla, and 4 drops of cinnamon. You then pick which holder for your candle and then color for your wax. Everyone is very helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend taking time out of your day to stop by and take a tour.

The day wasn't too hot yet so we stopped by the gift shop to begin and looked at some prayer cards, rosaries, bracelets, jewelry and wall decor such as St. Michael the Archangel and the Last Supper. They even had the new Pope Leo on some prints. The GIft Shop was clean, employees were very helpful and even if an item wasn't in stock, they'd give suggestions for another store. My friend purchased 12 votive candle holders to collect as early Christmas gifts and the employee, her and another friend helped open each box to make sure they were in English not Spanish! There are 2 shrines outside: Our lady of Guadalupe above may be in ceramic with Juan Diego I believe in a bronze die cast below? You walk up a set of steps on a limestone perched area that has flower bouquets that people have given, a stand for candles for personal intentions and a sitting area for prayer and reflection. It was very peaceful and serene. Walking down from this area and to the left is the main Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto which is set within the rock. Mother Mary is perched high with a white cloth draped down. There are areas for candles but I believe you have to purchase them at the gift shop and can make a donation in a small metal slot below another set of candles. There are 2 spigots below the sign where you can get Holy Water. There's an outdoor shaded area with metal chairs for Masses held there. It was nice and peaceful sitting in this area while praying. What a blessing to have this shrine in the city. We left feeling grounded and peaceful.

It's rare to find a space where spiritual learning feels both accessible and profound, but that's exactly what I found here. I left feeling encouraged in my own path and grateful for the sense of community they cultivate. I'm planning to continue attending and look forward to growing alongside such thoughtful and sincere group of people.
