German grocery store that just opened in August 21. They had a lot of cool European things that you can't see at other places like Shop Rite. Prices were reasonable too. Wasnt crazy busy which was nice given how new it is. We'll be adding this to our shopping rotation. read more

I really wanted to like the store but it always disappoints. 3 out of 5 times I walkout due to lines at the checkout. You can never get everything you need, not once! The prices are okay but the produce is garbage.... I live in South Cranford and I'm pretty sure driving to Trader Joe's if faster due to the lines alone. I make an effort about once a month due to proximity or if running other errands, always a waste of time. read more

This location recently opened & to drum up interest I received coupons $10/$10, $20, $30, & $40 I used the $10 & $20 so for those two weeks I got $30 of stuff for a little over $10 good deal. The store is more appliances & less food variety than it's parent ALDI, the produce is lots of boxes & there seems to be much less of a German influence. Regardless, I enjoyed my savings & was looking forward to another visit this past Saturday when to my dismay I found about 1/4 of the parking lot taped off. Hard to tell what happened. It was full of water/sludge almost as if someone dropped something. The rest of the lot was dry so maybe an underwater main break?(though the pool of water was still). No signage you just had to realize when you couldn't enter the store was closed. Since their stores do not have direct contact #s published so I had to call cust svc & after waiting for over 10 mins for the rep to reach someone in the store I hung up & took my biz to Shoprite. I also posted my frustration on FB where I saw several posts of others who shared my experience & equally at a loss to get an explanation or even a clue as to when they will reopen. I emailed cust svc & have yet to hear back. If they're willing to honor my now expired promotional coupon I'll consider going back when I know they're open; if not, they just lost me as a potential regular customer read more

Female (assistant manager???) is EXTREMELY RUDE and condescending. I have had to confront her about items that didn't ring up on sale two different times. BOTH times she ROLLED HER eyes at me and said, point blank..."Its not on sale"...no explanation either time. All she does is stand in the front of the store looking at her cell phone and when people have to confront her she acts like they are bothering her. If you hate your job that much...do us all a favor and quit!!! read more

I never leave a Lidl store imprested. The stores are always poorly stocked and disheveled. There are never are enough cashiers so checkout takes a long time. This new store is no different. There is no room near registers. Customers waiting to checkout block the isles. read more

Wish I could shop there but, upon walking in, I witnessed an unmasked customer breathing on the open-air croissants so I had to leave. I'm doing my part to end this pandemic and idiots like this are given license to perpetuate it. I wish they'd do the right thing and require masks for customers as well as employees. read more

The cashier I had was extremely rude .. I was using my mom's card and had to make sure that I had enough money on it so I did 100 first and then tried to do they rest for like 40 it went though .. I paid some of the rest even though I had money on the card because he refused to help me any more .. he said stop holding up the line.. and didn't want to scan it again ..Because he had to ring my card twice.. Excuse me why can't you just do your job.. my mom has dementia and I do her grocery's .. it's really difficult..deal with and he had to be a jerk .. also I brought so many things on Sale one time and nothing came out right To the price so I went back and they refused to give me the sales price and just gave me back some of my money .. for a few items not all even after admitting they put the wrong prices on stuff the day before ..I called customer service they gave me my money back .. they knew that it was illegal and they have to give me what the sales price was on the label .. read more

I have been getting their flyers since they opened and decided to give them a try. One item that caught my eye was the "Setton Farms premium pistachios 16oz. for $3.59 on sale for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Today being Sunday, I figured that I should probably get there early so I was there shortly after opening. I found the nuts and got 4 bags as well as some other items and headed to the checkout. I watched as the pistachios rang up $6.99 and figured the price would correct when everything was rang up. That never happened and when I questioned the discrepancy the clerk called for back up. After explaining the situation to the other person she looked long and hard at the flyer and finally said "see how the bottom of the bag is orange" yeah, "well it should be green". I asked her if she could kindly get me the correct ones and she agreed. After a while she came back empty handed and said "sorry, we never got those, we may have them tomorrow" I said they won't be on sale tomorrow, how does that help me? She said "no problem, just call customer care". When I got home I called the customer care number and got a recording saying the cc line was available Monday thru Saturday 8to8 so I decided to contact them thru email. I got a chat request that I decided to take advantage of. I took the time to document all my information and at the end they sent me a link to enter my credit card info and pay $5.00 to be connected! Unbelievable. Sad to say, I don't think they will last as long as the Food Emporium! read more

I can't believe how terrible this store is. Its like an odd lot. The loss of Pathmark is great. Why couldn't we have gotten a Wegmans?!
