Kaspa's Desserts - The Menu

A very long list of desserts can be found here - sundaes, milkshakes, hot cookie dough, (dessert)…read morewaffles, (dessert) crepes, various coffees and teas, gelato, cakes, cheese cakes, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some... it took me about 10 minutes to decide what to eat. I opted for the strawberry N butterscotch waffle, upgraded to an M&M waffle. Served with either whipped cream or vanilla soft serve - I chose the ice cream. The waffle is a good size waffle with M&Ms throughout, then topped with a healthy portion of chopped strawberries and drizzled with butterscotch syrup and white chocolate flakes. The vanilla soft serve is what you can expect from being vanilla soft serve. The hot cookie dough was awesome too! Served with vanilla soft serve as well (most desserts come with the option), we chose the cookie dough with smarties but there's about 5-6 choices. Hot and delicious! Needless to say... super full after splitting the cookie dough and having 1 whole waffle. My friend got the brownie waffle and devoured hers as well. Cookie dough was around 5.50 pounds & waffle was about 6.50 plus the 1 pound up charge for m&m based waffle. I would recommend if you have a sweet tooth!

Firstly it does have an American diner feel to it with the high back booths and pink and black colour scheme but they don't offer table service like you might expect. You get taken to your seats and provided with menu's but then place your order at the till when ready. The menu is quite simply divine!! Waffles, crepes, ice cream sundaes and cheesecakes galore make it a difficult decision but eventually I set my mind to a 'strawberry and waffle cheesecake'. It appeared the staff were unaware of this option on the menu as I was asked both at the till and at my seat to clarify my order. My friend's ice cream sundae was brought to the table very quickly but I was left waiting and our drinks were nowhere to be seen. Then they brought me a plain strawberry cheesecake....needless to say I sent it back only to be told they didn't have the one I ordered and I had to change my order to a waffle. My friend had by this point demolished her ice cream. So overall the service was fairly poor however it is early days and teething issues are bound to crop up! The waffle I eventually got with Nutella and coconut flakes was gorgeous-huge portion and I felt satisfied but not overly stuffed after it! Definitely recommend it and I only hope the customer service improves!!

Impeccable service and super friendly staff made this a fantastic end to the night. Not to mention the abundance of delicious food we ordered. I had a nutella waffle with coconut which was gorgeous and my friends ordered ice cream and a banoffee crepe. All were presented very nicely but more importantly tasted divine! Huge portions so if you are visiting make sure you have plenty of room.....or if like us you failed the challenge you can take it away Win Win!! It really has a wonderfully chilled out atmosphere with retro 90's music in the background,a huge disco ball reflecting the light off the black glittery walls and ample booths where people can enjoy their food in almost an American style diner. They even had Frozen playing on the telly in the background which would be ideal for any children. I can really see this place attracting families on the weekend, young adults midweek and basically any dessert fans late evening after a meal elsewhere. My only concern would be its location in that come Fri/Sat night there will be large volumes of drunk people passing by and I just hope it doesn't upset the ambience.

The French Oven Bakery is absolutely divine!! A lovely Artisan bakery in the ever popular Grainger…read moreMarket offering a whole host of different breads, pasties and cakes. What has prompted this review is their mouth watering and delicious rhubarb and custard macaroons that I only discovered last week.....so good that they drew me back every day without fail! If you're a newbie to the French Oven it can be difficult to peruse their selection as it does get pretty busy along the counter but the staff are always more than happy to help and the queue is a reflection of the high quality and fresh food on offer. They also deliver if you want time to consider your order online or buy in bulk. I would highly recommend their macaroons as they are by far the best I've tasted outside of Paris itself! I also tend to favour the sourdough bread or focaccia - so flavoursome and light. Although not a frequent pasty fiend I have sampled their chilli con carne pasty when I was looking for convenience food and it was very tasty although perhaps could have had a bit more filling. Nonetheless I have yet to be disappointed by anything from this little treasure of a bakery.

As you would really, it being a bread shop :-) Anyway, the lady behind the counter was very helpful, and described the bread that was on the back shelves, and I selected a mixed grain. Sitting infont of her on the counter was an interesting dark brown round loaf, with some bright pink bits showing through. She said it was Prawn and something!!! I nearly choked! She said "It's been really popular today and this is the only one left!" I decided I may need to gird my loins a bit more before delving into the dark art of baking to that extreme. I asked if she had a list of the bread they do, and she handed me a Qype card! Whoo hoo for promoting Qype! Not so hot on getting me more info on produce sadly. Maybe a blackboard somewhere with "FreshToday" written on it and a list of bread and cakes available as well as the specials of the day would be very useful I feel. The bread was lovely!
