Nobody likes going to the license bureau just because of the hassle the waiting in line the…read morewondering if you got everything that they're looking for and expecting in order to give you a drivers license or renewal plates or whatever I recently relocated from the West Coast and had a very bad experience at the license bureau down in Franklin so when I was in the process of getting my Washington drivers license converted to an Ohio drivers license, I made sure all my subsequent visit that I did not return to the Franklin office because the people that work there Were very unfriendly not knowledgeable. Gave me incorrect information. It was a completely different experience at the Centerville location as the people that work. There were extremely friendly very fast, very efficient and very accurate with the information on what I needed and got me through the process really quickly and painlessly. In the same building as the title bureau and assorted Union County offices, this small BMV office…read morehas longer lines than the title place but is still faster and friendlier than most. There is a side door in the large Union County building for easy access to the BMV and title office; go around to the right and look for the door. Take a number, wait a few minutes, and do your business. I was renewing one set and getting historical plates for another car; it would have taken about 15 minutes total except that they had a computer issue. Still, half an hour is about normal for a BMV. Service was friendly and helpful. It's a nice enough place to wait, with 20 or so chairs and a TV.

The staff deftly handles people who are returning with documents so they don't have to wait in line again. Folks are masked and there are acrylic dividers for covid transmission prevention.. I was here to retake eye exam after doing poorly due to cataracts. Now that the catarcts are off I did pass an the staffer gave me a high 5! Made this old lady's day.

I do know for the side for the driver's licenses There's a computer kiosk as you go in and you sign in using your cell phone. They used to have you take a number and be called but now it's that system. Of course it's more busy on the weekends and at lunch hour. I have always had great experiences at this license bureau. It always seems to be less crowded than…read morethe other ones in the area and the staff is always very friendly. What really impressed me was when I had to go back after it had been shut down for several weeks due to Covid. The lines were long since people haven't been able to get in and they had to adhere to Covid restrictions but they had a system to keep track of everyone and they were rocking it! When I finally did get inside to get my license plates the staff were friendly and did not let the situation bother them Even though I am sure people were less than friendly with them.
