I like LiBs a lot, but I have noticed that the counter service is not what it used to be. During my visit today I walked up to the counter but was not greeted at all. Not even an "I'll be right with you". They weren't that busy, but some recognition would have been nice. I also liked it better when the menu rotated daily, but understand that it's easier to plan with a fixed menu. read more

What an asset for Salem whose downtown has been suffering for years. I'd like to see LiBs prosper and encourage similar new businesses. I was in town for only a weekend high school reunion and visited twice. The front staff were super friendly and the atmosphere had just the right funky casual touch. Excellent, exceptional, brilliant. Ordered the London Fog. That is a drink that is hit or miss with coffee shops for me but Libs delivered. The service was friendly, fast, courteous. The store was really cozy, had a few small seating areas on offer. I really wish they were open longer! Get the Sunday Brunch. On one Sunday morning (when I was being too much of a heathen to go to church), my wife and I decided to try out LiBs Market on a whim after seeing what looked to be interesting menu choices. In my 28 years on this Earth, few decisions I have made were better than that. Ok so perhaps that's a bit of an exaggeration--but the food was good. It was REALLY good. They are known for their coffee which they roast on premises, however I cannot drink coffee for reasons left to other reviews. So I was left to sample their brunch menu. Their chef knows how to mix flavors. I had what they called Chorizo "tot-chos." The chef managed to combine down home comfort food like tater tots with upscale and delicious ingredients like chorizo, fetta, green onion and egg on top. It was amazing. Better than anything you would expect to find in Salem. Better than anything that has any business BEING in Salem. Stop in. Give it a try. You'll love it. read more

Seemed like a nice place, probably more for just the locals. Not many options on food at all but I saw somewhere it just depends on the day I guess (I was there before 10) and the lavender coffee wasnt the best by any means but not awful. Sweet crew just not my flavor, convenient. read more

I'm so glad to have found this little gem tucked away beside the Community Theatre. The atmosphere is great, the staff helpful and inviting, and the tea is wonderful. I am a loose leaf tea snob. This is quality, and there's a good variety. Those new to drinking loose leaf should find things very easy, with samples to smell, descriptions to read, and of course staff there to walk you through it all. These things don't hurt for the advanced connoisseur either. As far as food, I've only been able to get something from the grab-and-go fridge, but it was good. I'm looking forward to getting out during one of their days they stay open late so I can try some of their food properly. Hopefully they start having more of these late days as trying to hit up the shop before they close at their normal time of 4pm is quite hard for me, not being a local - far from it, in fact. For now, I'll just be happy to steal the occasional evening. (Keep an eye on their social media accounts to know when those are happening.) read more

Sadly, I recently moved farther from LiBs so I am not able to visit as much as used to, but I enjoy coming here any chance I get. LiBs Market recently opened in downtown Salem. You should have already heard about it, but if you have not make sure to put this place on your map. LiBs is a great example of a coffee store with great owners who pay careful attention to detail and quality. The coffee is fresh roasted by Friends Specialty, and served soon after to ensure that the flavor is at the peak of freshness. The baked goods are also done on premises, and they are outstanding! I enjoyed a blueberry scone, which was the perfect mixture between traditional and sweet. The texture is what made this little treat explode with flavor; fluffy and moist! Love love love that my hometown has a great coffee shop now! And they have taco tuesdays!! Um heck yes please! Husband ordered a tea drink at first and then a latte. I ordered two rounds of white raspberry lattes. Delicious all the way around. It's located in an older building that was once a bank and the wood floors and quaintness remain. The owners are super friendly and kind! Very cozy and welcoming. And a great place for the husband to catch up on his homework as they offer wifi! read more

We usually stop in here once a week, sometimes more! I always get a frappucino. They have good sandwiches and snacks. My favorite is the hummus flatbread, although the chicken flatbread is pretty good, too. They have ham and cheese "pigwheel" pastries that I always get as well. My only complaint is sometimes there aren't enough open power outlets (we like bringing our laptops in to do work)! The owners and staff are all very nice, friendly people. read more
