When you go up the stairs, you will be surprised at how spacious the store is, and while the selection isn't vast, you're bound to find something of interest. Dr. Gamboa writes about his ER patients, one of whom came in, a young man who was wheeled in after his quad flipped over in the sand dunes of Imperial Valley. Great bookstore and a good read for people who can see past labels and delve into life, and the instances when all one's assumptions and ideas about our own invincibility are called into question. The book is written by a well-respected surgeon who has been humbled by what he has seen in life and death situations. He draws the reader to come to regard what becomes an inevitable conclusion as science steps beyond the unknown.

Great selection of vintage and new books, and I noticed some real treasures here & there. I didn't purchase anything today, but several of the employees smiled at me and made me feel welcome. Browsing the stacks on the right side of the store is a little tight when people pass by each other, but c'est la vie. They have a great selection of cute merch and other bibliophile-types of accoutrements. If you are a book lover, or even a book liker, you will love this place. Peace.

I was also informed of sloped floors and uneven areas since I am a cane user which I GREATLY appreciated. This store is stacked with literature and poetry, I'd say that's definitely their forte here. Their lit section for new releases is huge and they had so many different editions for so many popular literature books. They also had a lot of lit and non fiction used options. Everything is great pricing. Basically either list or discounted for used items. The store is cozy and small with memories, photos, and clippings everywhere on the walls. It you are a wheelchair user it is not accessible for you, but if you use a mobility aid like a cane or crutch you can manage. There are very small tight sections. Next time I'm in the market for a classic book, this will be my go to.

I personally love to take pictures, especially on vacation. As do many others. When we came in, they literally have a gate to enter the book part (talk about gatekeeping in real life lol). They give you a set of rules before you enter and there are signs that you can't take pictures. Only once you listen to those rules can you enter... I overheard the men working here complaining about young people taking pictures in front of their book cases outside while a young girl was doing just that. Basically making fun of anyone who does that. I said "you all have a beautiful place, it's so photo worthy." They just said ya, but if you're not looking for books then don't come in here and start taking pictures. lol - can you not do both....? Both times I came in to browse and ended up leaving with a couple books. The staff/store owner are amazing, they are such warm and friendly people. He came over and installed my Ecobee quickly and nicely. Didn't make me feel stupid, but explained what he was doing in a way a friend would. It is exactly how I wanted it to be. I Love controlling the temp remotely and having the piece of mind of the alerts and all that comes with it. I would hire Chris again in a heartbeat, and would definitely recommend him to family and friends!

My Apple iMac died and I had to buy a new computer. Of course I didn't have a current backup and I…read morecouldn't access all my super important files. A manager at an Apple store put me in touch with Chris and he was an absolute lifesaver. He was extremely responsive to texts and drove out to our house the next day to pick up both computers. He was able to successfully transfer all the files from the old computer to the new one and did it in a very timely manner and charged a very reasonable fee.
