Was introduced to my BDO accountant by my financial advisor and had high hopes that they would…read moreserve my family's accounting needs for the next few decades. After some positive first impressions (including answering some tax related questions before I even became a paying client), the level of customer service soon took a noticeable dip. Multiple major mistakes were made on my family's tax returns, including a "keying error" that inflated my amount owed by several thousand dollars; knowingly sending me an incorrect return to sign; neglecting to convert one of my securities from USD funds to CAD funds (even though it was clearly indicated as such), etc. The last error resulted in an incorrect filing and interest penalty from the CRA. To their credit, they apologized and resolved their first two major errors. However, when I requested to discuss the third one, they responded by abruptly dropping my family as their clients instead, stating basically that we had become too much work for them. They corrected the error eventually but never issued an apology or explanation and have ignored all further requests for information since. Contacted BDO Canada twice to offer my feedback after the busy tax season had passed but it took them a week and a half to respond to me, and only after I mentioned that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau to write a review. Sorry, but would not recommend. Update: both my wife and my tax returns filed by BDO were recently reassessed again by the CRA, resulting in additional amounts owing plus interest penalties. Turns out that a total of eleven T5 and T3 slips were not filed even though BDO had access to both the paper and digital copies of all my tax slips.

I'm not comfortable sharing my info with the whole office, and how embarrassing for your poor staff! The only reason I put 2 stars is because Daniel was able to get me a better deal on my insurance. Daniel was amazing, and I hope he moves somewhere else cause it's clear he knows way more about insurance, customer service and professionalism than his "boss". I waited to post this review to see if my interactions with this guy were any better but waiting over two weeks for a call back from him is crazy. Sad.

So it's busy with all clientele from all walks of life, most of them businesses from around the area and the people who hang around the Dundas and Richmond street area. It's easy to walk to, there is street parking, but it fills up fast, so your best bet is to either find parking and walk, take the bus or just walk there. I recently came in to apply for a mortgage with my boyfriend, and the representative who we were dealing with was quite new, so he had to ask for a lot of help, which is fine, I'd rather he ask for the help. We went a couple of times, and we were able to get a good 5 year fixed rate on a mortgage, they do match their rates with competitors. The tellers when you go to make a transaction are super friendly and nice. Very helpful and converse with you. They give you good advice, but they are in sales, so they do try and sell you on some things as well, so just be weary, it's part of their job. This location also has security guards posted inside and near the atms as well, because being a downtown location, they definitely need it. This was a great location to walk to and was close to work and a lot of downtown shops if you need to take a bit of cash out, talk to a financial adviser. They're hours are posted on the doors and they're not open on Sundays. The ATM is accessible from Dundas street and the best times to go are early in the morning and throughout the day, I wouldn't go at night.
